If you’re a Smashing Pumpkins fan, you should feel like an idiot after looking at this picture.

I think if Billy Corgan had a big stupid smile on his face then that picture would be easier to take. If he’s really taking himself and whatever he is doing at that particular moment seriously then all I can do is say DOOSHBAG!!!

Isn’t Corgan a little too late to be dressing up for Halloween? That was a Nov 6th concert and Halloween was last week. Corgan needs to check his calendar.

Newsflash, people: Billy Corgan has worn crazy stuff for years. If anything, this tells me he is getting comfortable with his band again.

Hey Tino | 11/10/2008, 12:08 pm EST

Can you give us an explanation of what he is wearing and why? Then maybe we won’t think of him as a pretentious asshole. You, however, no such luck.

Tino | 11/10/2008, 2:31 pm EST

Well, since you asked so nicely…
Nobody ever knows exactly what goes on in Billy’s head, but I figure the costume was meant to confuse the “mainstream” fans who come to concerts and only want to hear “Today” and “Bullet with Butterfly Wings.”

Hey Tino | 11/10/2008, 2:38 pm EST

Ok. Sure. If the guy is doing something dumb, just say so. You can still be a fan. What is wrong with wanting to hear the songs that drew you into the band in the first place? Isn’t this a 20th anniversary tour? I guess if that was Billy’s thought process, he must feel very secure to alienate any portion of his audience. Me, I think he’s just kooky.

who the bigger tool is between Billy Corgan and Tino is nigh impossible.

Tino | 11/10/2008, 4:44 pm EST

What people are quick to ignore is the fact that he IS still playing the hits at concerts, along with the new stuff too. He’s a musician, he’s allowed to evolve and do new things instead of living in 1993-95 forever.

Four Nick Eight | 11/10/2008, 7:13 pm EST

How about night one, greatest hits, and night 2, for the tinos of the world?

i don’t think there’s anything wrong with you all having your own opinions, but good lord, you’re morons. billy’s been dressing in crazy outfits for years, it’s just his thing. as for the shows, you know, the setlists are up on sp.com, you can choose not to go if it doesn’t read like a greatest hits playlist. personally, i like the mix of old and new. the only thing i can think of that loses most of you is stuff like ’set the controls’, and the original goes on as long as the pumpkins version. but i’m sure you’ll all bitch and whine and stay in 93-95.

ROCK ON BILLY!!! You are a musical genius and I LOVE you! I have been a loyal fan since I first discovered SP on VH1’s Behind the Music while on vacation in Atlanta back in the mid 90s. I saw SP live at VirginFest at Pimlico in 07, and I was at Constitution last night November 12, 2008. AWESOME!!! I loved the original SP and I love the new SP. Do Yo Thang Brother! Rock On!
