Sirius and XM to Begin Music-Station Merge November 12th

11/7/08, 1:50 pm EST

On November 12th, both Sirius and XM Radio listeners might find that their favorite channel is misplaced or even missing as the two satellite radio companies begin to merge their stations. The consolidation was first revealed on XM Escape, which announced in a promo that it would make the leap from Channel 78 to 28. The merge date was also confirmed by a DJ on Sirius’ the Pulse. The merge actually started in the weeks following the XM/Sirius deal, as Howard Stern was added to XM’s lineup after being Sirius’ marquee star. Neither Sirius nor XM has announced the realigned station breakdown, but Sirius’ oldies icon Cousin Brucie will reportedly become available on XM, meaning XM’s own oldies station is in danger of becoming dead air. Other genres across the board will also face similar showdowns between their cross-radio counterparts. As long as we can still find Eminem’s Shade 45 station (where he tends to announce major career news) and Bob Dylan’s dispatches, we should be okay. After years in anti-trust limbo, Sirius and XM finally joined forces in July to form Sirius XM.

I hope that by consolidating mainstream stations that overlap each other on each service, enough bandwidth is saved to preserve the more obscure niche channels like Audiovisions (XM’s new age station) and Cinemagic (XM’s movie/soundtrack station) that you can’t get anywhere else.

John | 11/11/2008, 12:07 pm EST

Rick Stacy, PD on XM 80s, mentioned today (Tuesday) that the consolidation of his channel would take place on Wednesday and that former MTV VJ and current Sirius 80s DJ, Mark Goodman would be on the shift after his (Stacy’s shift is 7am-11am or 12 noon). From all indications, American Top 40 will continue on the merged 70s and 80s channels.

$@#%&! Gone: X Country, Ethel, Lucy, Squizz, and on and on… According to the XM line-up I just read (effective 11/12), looks like all but a very select few XM stations have been pushed out. I expected a merger, but damn this is an overhaul!

damion | 11/12/2008, 2:46 am EST

wow im soooo unhappy i just lost my Fav station raw 66 . for one to tell you the truth thats really the only reason i got xm radio, was to get all the varitey of raw rap artists. no fruit snack rap either ive been listening to the new station and im even more angry not very inpressed. the station that replaced it shady 45 not the un-baised stuff im looking for im really considering cancling my subscription bad move xm-sirus. pc

Jared | 11/12/2008, 10:38 am EST

VERY PISSED!

Deborah | 11/12/2008, 10:44 am EST

No, No, No….I just lost my station #37…I want it back or I won’t renew!!!!!!!

Dana | 11/12/2008, 1:38 pm EST

I am thoroughly pissed. I am missing my two favorite stations 43 (Backspin) and 37 (The strobe). The alternative offerings do not offer 24/7 of your favorite music–so they cannot seriously consider them as logical replacements. I called to complain–and advised that they have one month to fix this before I cancel BOTH of my subscriptions.

Chris w. | 11/12/2008, 3:35 pm EST

What were they thinking by taking 43 backspin off, I need my old school hip hop. I still haven’t figured out whatelse is missing yet..

ike | 11/12/2008, 6:27 pm EST

Im Pissed I Lost My Strobe And Chrome Dance Channels And Notice A few More Missing. If They Plan To Keep Disco Dance Music Dead On Satilite, No Need To Renew My Subscription.

disco girl | 11/12/2008, 7:21 pm EST

if I don’t get my strobe back, I will cancel, come on disco lovers fight back

Josh in TN | 11/12/2008, 9:21 pm EST

Evidently no one at Sirius XM thought to get input from customers before they axed channels completely. And the offered “replacements” are a joke. After axing the only dedicated classic disco (The Strobe) and my newest favorite Boombox, I am Siriusly considering canceling my subscription. After contacting customer service several times today due to various problems that came about after the “downgrade”, it doesn’t seem they are very concerned with our outcry of unhappiness. If everyone calls and complains, surely they will do something.

Mike | 11/12/2008, 10:08 pm EST

i just bought a brand new 08 mitsubishi eclipe in september all i listened to was 37 the strobe and now its gone??? what a shame

naughtydred | 11/12/2008, 10:23 pm EST

no The Power (169) & no (65) The Rhyme…

wtf?!? really XM….really?

this is completely idiotic…

dnazty | 11/13/2008, 1:24 am EST

i feel your pain. xm only has one rap station. and i miss raw and the variety of rap channels. im gonna cancel this shiznit if they dont add other rap channels.

steve. | 11/13/2008, 6:16 am EST

Total bs. Glad we do a month to month plan. WITHOUT A DOUBT, I AM GOING TO CANCEL AS SOON AS I CAN!

sh | 11/13/2008, 9:37 am EST

this is BS. I loved 65 old school hip hop and 66 raw. No more dj woody wood, dennis blaze, Mz. Kitti and more Come on XM! This new line up horrible. I guess i go back to online downloads. I hope XM-Sirus goes out of business. I will cancel today. wast of my money.

darrel | 11/13/2008, 12:08 pm EST

i hate this move. this effects my direct tv channels and xm radio in the car. xm raw is gone!!!! no more leo G!!! No more miss kitty!!!
i really want to cancel! That’s why i brought xm over sirius.

darrel | 11/13/2008, 12:08 pm EST

i hate this move. this effects my direct tv channels and xm radio in the car. xm raw is gone!!!! no more leo G!!! No more miss kitty!!!

Gary Talon | 11/13/2008, 12:34 pm EST

How about the NFL network ? Will it join XM ?

Fran | 11/13/2008, 1:01 pm EST

If they don’t bring the Strobe 37 back I am done as well. Worst part is there isn’t even a replacement on channel 37 its just gone. And don’t tell me the 70’s station is a replacement. A station with 30/40’s music? Big mistake

Craig | 11/13/2008, 2:18 pm EST

They got rid of Rhyme and have no replacement old school hip hop channel… what a shame

Derek | 11/13/2008, 2:20 pm EST

Oh, finally, whew….a 40’s station. Thanks Sirius for taking away great programming like Sirius Disorder. I’m gone.

Jeff | 11/13/2008, 3:06 pm EST

I emailed everyone I could about cancelled Strobe and Chrome. Spoke to Scott Greenstein’s assistant who is a complete, clueless moron. How can they get rid of the genre of disco yet keep an entire staton dedicated to Elvis? It’s insanity!

MERCEDESGIRL | 11/13/2008, 4:01 pm EST

It Really STINKS that they discontinued Channel 37 -THE STROBE……..I don’t want to renew my subscription because of this. THE STROBE WAS EXCELLENT!!!

Andy | 11/13/2008, 4:23 pm EST

I listened to The Strobe about 85% of the time. Without it, there’s no reason to subscribe. Bad move, Sirius. REALLY bad move.

Bill | 11/13/2008, 5:11 pm EST

I subscribed to XM and Sirius in the house for CHROME and STROBE. I had Sirius in the car for STROBE.
I will not bother to renew either XM or Sirius. Fortunately the XM expires on Nov. 13th I am very disappointed!!!

Monika77 | 11/13/2008, 5:56 pm EST

All fans of XM RAW and THE RHYME should send massive amounts of complaint mail to Siruis-XM radio; we understand the merger of XM and Sirius, don’t take away from us what we know and love so much. Mz Kitti should be back on the air IMMEDIATELY along with Leo G the way it should be..and if you wanted to charge a $12 fee I would be glad to pay that. Now think, Sirius radio, how much money your company can make just to have those channels back.

Tom VK | 11/13/2008, 8:07 pm EST

So far, so good, but they better not drop XM 4 (’40s), 5 (’50s), 6 (’60s), or 7 (’70s), because they are just about all I listen to. Keep XM the way it was! Lose Cousin Brucie, keep the Diner, promote Bob Moke!

Jeff W. | 11/13/2008, 9:40 pm EST

The loss of Fred, Ethel and especially The Rhyme are inexcusable. I have my ipod for all the stuff i can hear any old time. XM had deep playlists and no DJ’s. If I wanted to hear Alice in Chains and Nirvana every 5 seconds I can tune in terrestrial radio. And if I have to hear one more crunk dance, AWFUL rap song from the last few years, I’m grabbing my gat, and capping fools.

Don | 11/13/2008, 11:02 pm EST

It’s just fucked up that they took raw 66 off….I luv mz. kitti

Ron | 11/14/2008, 3:58 am EST

Please bring 66 raw and 65 the ryhm back. This change sucks and as a loyal xm customer I want my stations back. Or here is a better suggestion you dumb asses in managementm, charge more but give me the channels I wont and I pay for. I can get regular radio for free and listen to shit I don’t want to hear!!!!!

nate | 11/14/2008, 7:03 am EST

wtf … GREAT! i lost 4 of my first fav 6 presets, including 37, 43. shitty. disappointed.

Anonymous | 11/14/2008, 8:13 am EST

I loved the Strobe (37)! I can not beleive they cancelled it- it was my favorite station. I may cancel my subscription now! I REALLY hope they bring it back!!!

Bill | 11/14/2008, 9:58 am EST

I have faith that Sirius will re-launch the Strobe. This has been my #1 preset for some time. Brooklyn’s own Joe Causi and the rest of the Stobe DJ’s must not be silenced!

Kerrie | 11/14/2008, 10:30 am EST

Admit you’ve made a huge mistake and bring back Strobe 37. What a dis-service you have done to a large disco fan base. I will not renew my sirius membership and I will not include it as gift to 200 employees on our fleet vehicles. Give the GIFT of STROBE back this Christmas!!

Steve | 11/14/2008, 11:08 am EST

The Strobe 37 is gone, See you later Sirius,

Johnny | 11/14/2008, 12:49 pm EST

My friend has xm and I have sirius, this suck! WTF the reason he got mx is to listen to the music he want to listen to and I sirius beacuse I want to the ol school rap channel. Verybody get fucked!!!

Chill - Atlanta | 11/14/2008, 2:35 pm EST

I want my fuckin XM radio back. I can’t believe 66 Raw was canceled. I loved listening to The General and Mz. Kitti. That Shade 45 bullshit is horrible. That’s it, I’m offically canceling my subscription and going back to snack food rap comercial radio stations. yall really fucked this one up major.

Rob W | 11/14/2008, 2:39 pm EST

I cancelled my Sirius last night—-due to no more Strobe Channel 37—-dumb move!!!!! and I see they are reporting huge debt— DAH!

Disorder fan | 11/14/2008, 4:09 pm EST

My Disorder replacement, The Loft, is horrible. I’m pissed!

gregg | 11/14/2008, 5:48 pm EST

i subscribed to sirius when howard stern made the move and then discovered the strobe. now that they have canceled the strobe & howard is not that great i’ll problably just cancel my 2 subs.
BRING BACK THE STROBE !!!!!!!!!

Jenn | 11/14/2008, 6:35 pm EST

I have had my XM for about 5months and I only listened to 66 and 65. 66 Raw reminded me of Home. I am from FL and live in MD/DC/VA region and don’t really care for the radio stations here. I was so happy when I found those 2 stations on XM and I love them to death. I guess I will go back to listening to my cd’s I make. I never liked shade 45 my finance has Sirius in his car and it is horrible I always change the the station if he happens to put it on that. I want my 66 back MZ.Kitty is the best. I will be canceling if they don’t add those stations back no reason to pay for something I want listen to.

sonnyp | 11/14/2008, 7:15 pm EST

i can’t believe they got rid of the rhyme. that station is the main reason i have maintained my subscription for so long. the channel they replaced it with is garbage. if i wanted to listen to new school and mostly garbarge hip hop i could listen to the other three “urban” stations that play that crap. i am seriously let down. i sent XM my opinion. i will cancel if i get a prorated refund, otherwise i will cancel at the end of this billing cycle.

Red | 11/14/2008, 8:22 pm EST

Bring back 66RAW XL Shade 45 garbage need Leo G and Mizz Kitti, thinking about cancelling.

Stevie, Kaitlyn & Jaclyn | 11/14/2008, 8:26 pm EST

Cannot believe the Strobe & Backspin are gone. Sirus what where you thinkin, My Subscription is cancelled. Long Live disco
& old school
Back to Live365 and my ipod.

Chow Sirius

Disgusted | 11/14/2008, 11:11 pm EST

I just bought my new Jeep one month ago and paid an extra $350 to get the upgraded sound package with Sirius specifically so I could listen to The Strobe and Backspin on the road. Now they are GONE!!! I am so disgusted that I spent the extra money FOR NOTHING… I also switched to Dish Network at the end of last year too because it includes Sirius so I could listen to them at home! Not anymore!! Boombox was another good channel that they axed. There is now a RIDICULOUS number of rock and pop channels (that have A LOT of overlap) and hardly any dance or electronic channels left, and there are NO CHANNELS AT ALL that play classic dance/disco/freestyle or old school rap/hip-hop/r&b. If I wanted to listen to rock and pop all day I might as well just listen to regular radio! What JERKS at Sirius did this?!? And don’t insult me further by suggesting replacement channels that don’t even play the same genre of music! You really screwed up BIG TIME, Sirius…

A | 11/14/2008, 11:24 pm EST

Missing the ONLY XM channel I ever listen to, CH. 2. It even got me interested in the interviews with country music stars. Dylan may still be on and Tom Petty, but I used to be able to listen to them any time of the day.

Bake | 11/14/2008, 11:54 pm EST

I will cancel with no 66 raw no kitti no renew I need a real blaze session

dextad | 11/15/2008, 1:10 am EST

the shade can’t hold A THING to 66 raw. BRING BACK mz kitty. I’m serious thinking about cancelling. Shade is weak.

Don | 11/15/2008, 3:08 am EST

long story short i paid for xm’s service mainly just for 65 and 66… yeah dumb move xm-sirius! i was all up for your merger, but then you go and f**k up my two channels! if you have no plans to take action your gonna loose yet another customer along with the other guys here!! shade 45, xm 67, and xm 68 are very comparable to my standard over the air broadcast… whats your plans to keep me AS A HAPPY PAYING CUSTOMER, before i cancel and never come back?? props to everyone else upset about their fav stations!

about2flip | 11/15/2008, 4:55 am EST

I can’t believe this!!!! I kept my subscription for THE MOVE XM 80, THE RHYME, CHROME, and now they are all gone. What simple ass made this dumb decision. They should have kept the companies seperate.

Jeff | 11/15/2008, 6:17 am EST

I will cancel my new vehicles getting Sirius radio due the cancelling of the Station Ch37 Strobe.
Bring it back and I will be back.

Ron and Deb | 11/15/2008, 10:22 am EST

No X County – This stinks, if I wanted to listen to old time country I would choose Willies Place, plus when I called Listeners Care I got someone who had NO IDEA about the new programming. Not only did we loose our XM programs we lost our customer service. I couldn’t even complain – the rep didn’t even understand. We have 4 radios but not for much longer.

Missing my XM Trio | 11/15/2008, 11:34 am EST

Bring back Lucy, Fred and Ethel I HATE the new lame sirius replacements I miss Cane’s whit on Ethel. Called to complain and obviously fell on deaf ear’s that if the idiot who took the call could have understood me, where did my great XM customer service go as well

BAM | 11/15/2008, 12:20 pm EST

What the hell happed to Mizz Kitty and RAW 66 if I wanted to listen to censored bubble gum rap I can listen to free radio.

I wont be renewing my subscription

if they axed you station | 11/15/2008, 12:38 pm EST

THE only thing the”ll understand is if you CANCEL

Greg | 11/15/2008, 12:54 pm EST

BRING BACK DISORDER!
Megless Griffin, Ghosty, David Johannson. WTF are you thinking?? Nothing will replace that. The Loft?? pfffttt…garbage compared to Disorder. Shame on whoever decided that this channel can be replaced. Once Howard’s gone, so am I.

BIG ROB | 11/15/2008, 6:34 pm EST

THERE’S LIKE 2 HIPHOP CHANELS NOW, AND THEY BOTH SUCK…all I want is the rhyme man. This is stupid

The King | 11/15/2008, 6:56 pm EST

I can’t fuc*** believe that The Strobe & Backspin were taken off. The reason that they gave is total bullsh** They now air two electronic dance channels, why ???

JC | 11/15/2008, 8:53 pm EST

It looks like that a lot of folks are in the same boat I’m in…to cancel or not to cancel… I was very disappointed that the rhyme was cancelled and they didn’t have the courtesy to replace it with backspin. I just renewed, but am seriously thinking of cancelling. Shade 45 and the other hip-hop/rap stations cannot fill the void.

John | 11/15/2008, 9:34 pm EST

XM/Sirius, you guys need a freakn plan rolled out to the public…this is crap…

Sam | 11/15/2008, 9:46 pm EST

Just bought a Ford with sirius free for six months…no backspin or a real alternative??? I will not even think about purchasing it if they don;t bring it back!!

Nazz | 11/15/2008, 11:44 pm EST

XM Channel 2 is a big loss — instead of getting to hear Dylan and Petty’s radio shows on a schedule that actually works on the west coast, we get jerk-off stations for the Dead and Springsteen. I do like the addition of Garage. Other than that and BBC 1 the Sirius stations seem useless. Why did they kill the punk/ska, one of the better XM stations, for the lesser extreme one. Maybe these programming geniuses can get a real blues station on there instead of bar band boogie. And why pay for the NFL?

Melissa in FL | 11/15/2008, 11:50 pm EST

I loved Lucy. I listened to that station 90% of the time. Alt rock from the 90’s is no replacement. What Coldplay or the Cure?? I love Nirvana as much as the next person but I need variety! If they don’t bring Lucy back I am switching to strickly iPod, which has more variety than lithium!

MN | 11/16/2008, 10:17 am EST

The loft does not replace disorder. In fact, it sucks!
And what happened to all the DJ’s and great shows? Where is the minister, allison and meg griffin.
World cafe?

I am very upset and sad about the changes. It was fun while it lasted. I will probably have to cancel.

New Orleans Finest | 11/16/2008, 1:17 pm EST

NO xm66 NO contract. Mz.Kitti hold your head,we miss u.

riroon | 11/16/2008, 5:02 pm EST

I DID cancel, logged complaints online and through the 800#. I was an XM subscriber for years. When they bring back FRED, X COUNTRY, and RAW, plus give me a taste about all the fuss DISORDER is to Sirius customers, I will gladly re-up. Til then, Steve Jobs will be a richer man, as I take my subscription fees and use them to update the ol’ iPod.

riroon | 11/16/2008, 5:02 pm EST

Big Drew | 11/16/2008, 5:23 pm EST

This is some bullshit. Shade 45 is weak the dj’s talk too damn much and they dont even play the hottest joints. No Leo G, No Ms Kitti they shit is about to fall off. Then they cancelled the Rhyme and backspin no old scool alternative aint no reason to listen to this Im cancelling if they dont change. Hell this is like the radio stations on FM shout out to all the displaced xm djs hope yall land softly somewhere!!!

alchemymike | 11/16/2008, 5:34 pm EST

No strobe no subscription will cancel my 5 units

Anthony | 11/16/2008, 7:15 pm EST

I want my CHROME & hEART STATIONS BACK. I’ve been a subscriber of XM for 4 years but I think I’LL cancell my subscription. I’m giving one month to have you guys put it back otherwise you’ll lose another customer.

They blew it | 11/16/2008, 7:26 pm EST

I have sirius and my husband has XM
He is pissed because he liked X-Country. I loved Chrome and the Strobe was my #1 preset. AND NO BACKSPIN. On the Sirius web site they suggested if you liked The Strobe then try #7 the 70s…well I tried it and they were playing 3 Dog Night. I need my Disco Divas. we are both canceling our subscriptions

Wreckergirl 69 | 11/16/2008, 7:55 pm EST

Fix this shit!!!!!!!!Put all stations from both companies and make us happy!!!!!!!!!!!

Simon | 11/16/2008, 9:11 pm EST

Spoke to head of programming at xm who personally axed chrome and strobe. He claimed they had a limited # of channels they could keep and also claimed these were the least listened to channels. I asked how he knew that since they cannot measure actual listener levels. He claimed customers surveys…. but I knew he was lying. Real reason I surmise is that he just hates disco and wanted it off the air!

Rob | 11/16/2008, 9:32 pm EST

WOW, they really F’up by eliminating Chrome/Strobe and Backspin. The #1 and #2 presets for me. I will definitely be canceling unless they bring them back. What a JOKE to suggest those other channels as substitutes.

Taarax | 11/16/2008, 10:46 pm EST

Unless they bring back XM 80 The Move and XM 65 The Rhyme, I’m canceling.

XM’s attempt to replace the Move with Area shows just how un-knowledgeable and bureaucratic their programming decisions were made. Area is so much like BPM, I can’t really tell the two apart sometimes. To add insult to injury, they took XM 82 The System off of the satellite and relegated it to online only…how terrible. I’m also upset that they got rid of XM 65 The Rhyme as well. I have no reason to pay for XM as all of the music that I really liked to listen to (underground house and old school hip hop) is now gone.

Siriusly unhappy | 11/16/2008, 10:52 pm EST

What a mistake to remove DISORDER! This channel was a gem in both eclectic music and DJ quality.

Don | 11/17/2008, 1:13 am EST

ATTENTION XM… guess what i did today??? no, i didnt accept your first offer for a free month! guess again??? nope i didnt accept the second offer of two free months either! give up?… you know what i did… i canceled my account! you know why? did you say no? ok… well i canceled cuz the corporate fatheads axed 65 the rhyme and 66 raw. you say you want me back? ok, sure no problem… ill return if you place my channels back on air and dont give me that bull shit that 65 the rhymes the same as 66 (shade 45)! i miss/need my kitty!!

Jess | 11/17/2008, 4:12 am EST

They need to get back to the original reason satellite radio was created: All Music for All People. I love The Strobe, I can’t believe they would flush both The Strobe and Chrome when it would have made sense to save one of them, head programmer must be anti disco.

Ty Wilkerson | 11/17/2008, 4:15 am EST

Bring Back 66 Raw and Ethel or i’m cancelling. Shade 45 fucking sucks balls. You guys should be ashamed of pissing off this many loyal customers. I’m personally insulted.

tyler vegas | 11/17/2008, 6:33 am EST

another lonely DISORDER fan…man i miss the “mansion of fun” and all those crazy dj’s. best music variety ever. what a huge loss. everyone needs to call or email them and let them know they f’ed up…

Tom | 11/17/2008, 8:01 am EST

Bring back the Rhyme or I’m gone too!!

Chris | 11/17/2008, 8:33 am EST

XM was great, and Sirius was great. Sirius XM is a joke and something needs to be done fast before everyone leaves. On XM we lost The Move, The System, and Chrome from our Dance \ Electronic genre. We now get Area but our Chill station has also changed even though the name has remained. I can turn on FM and get 10 country stations, do I really need 8 of them on XM? I cant get Dance music on AM, FM, and now very limited on XM. What is the real reason to even have XM anymore… I could save the money each mnth and Download dance music MP3s and listen to them in my car. At least then it would be worth the money I spend.

MassMike | 11/17/2008, 10:31 am EST

I gave the Disorder alternatives a shot over the weekend and will definitely be canceling my subscription and my wife will likely go the same route. Honestly, why pay for the same cardboard uncreative stuff you can get for free over the air or on internet-based offerings?

Bring back Ghosty, Meg, David or kiss me goodbye.

Dave | 11/17/2008, 10:34 am EST

BRING 37 THE STROBE BACK OR ME AND MY 3 ACCOUNTS ARE GONE!! MAYBE HD RADIO IS THE WAY TO GO1!!WAKE UP SIRIUS;THIS WAS A BAD MOVE

Dave | 11/17/2008, 11:01 am EST

Chrome and The System canceled = me canceling my subscription. They have until the end of this month to return them. I had 4 music presets and 2 of them are now gone…

Liz | 11/17/2008, 11:51 am EST

Sirius Disorder was the best thing to happen to radio since the old “free form” FM radio that started in the late ’60s, early ’70s. I listened mainly to three Sirius stations—Disorder, The Strobe, and Sirius Left. Now two of the three reasons for our two subscriptions are gone. I don’t know what they are thinking. My husband calls the Disorder replacement, The Loft, “The Lift” because it has become just another elevator music station. What a shame. We’ll probably cancel.

Carlos | 11/17/2008, 12:35 pm EST

Agree with many of you on here upset about losing channel 65 (old-skool hip-hop)! just simply an idiotic decision. Another bone-head move was consolidating the latin stations! I grew up in N.Y.C listening to merengue/salsa and when i moved to south texas i bought XM because that type of music isn’t played down here. Some ‘genius’ decided to have 1 station playing merengue, salsa, AND TEJANO & Spanish pop??! This merger is horrible! XM sounds more & more like FM radio. If it wasn’t for baseball i would cancel in a heartbeat! it seems as if they are simply marketing to white males over 50: 24/7 stations for Elvis, bruce springteen, A/C D/C, Grateful Dead, and Frank Sinatra! what a joke!!

Bring RAW and THE RHYME BACK | 11/17/2008, 12:41 pm EST

I’m dropping XM right now!!!!!!!

Chigbo | 11/17/2008, 12:45 pm EST

This is fucked up.shots out to eminem but shade 45 is whack.why did u guys take away 66 raw. 66 raw is the only reason i have xm. You guys need to put leo g and kitty back on the air or im cancelling.

I hate shady45 it’s some garbage Bring back Mz. Kitti. 66 raw that’s the only reason I brought XM.

Josh | 11/17/2008, 3:53 pm EST

ShadE is GARBAGE. 50 Cent. Shady. 50 Cent. T-Pain. 50 Cent. 50 Cent. What a diverse lineup…

Bring back 66 RAW. Leo G and Mz. Kitti knew how to put on a station.

I got love for Eminem and this ain’t his fault, but he can’t run a station. Plus, he’s not even on! His DJ’s are pathetic!

john | 11/17/2008, 4:45 pm EST

Once again decisions made for us by the big wigs in the boardroom,we pay the bills so we should have the final say right!

Steve | 11/17/2008, 6:07 pm EST

If they do not put either Strobe or Chrome back on by Dec 12 I will cancel. I hope everyone who can cancel will do so then maybe they will put Chrome or Strobe back on. 21 Rock stations–8 Pop—7 Country—2 Dance –I don’t consider Chill dance—0 Classic Dance

suzen | 11/17/2008, 6:11 pm EST

this crap is not chill. no jazz. no lounge. need to rethink maintaining my 5 scipts!

Jey | 11/17/2008, 6:44 pm EST

BRING back Strobe and POP Latino (only one station in spanish now… this is ridiculous! If stationa are not back I’m canceling too!

D is pissed | 11/17/2008, 7:58 pm EST

Received an email from Jon Zellner
Senior Vice President,v Music Programming big muck muck at xm programming. Here is his comment to me “We did our best, based on customer surveys from both companies, to keep the channels that reached the most listeners and performed the best in overall satisfaction. And, in some cases, we actually blended the two channels combining the best personalities from Sirius and XM to create a new combined channel.
As you may know, we have a limited amount of space on the network for channels and we only have room for 69 commercial-free music channels, so we did have to say goodbye to a few formats to make room for new ones”

The changes are bullshit, no 66 raw, no rhyme 65, beyond jazz gone, shade 45 is shady at best, no lucy, no fred.

Only a few more days before “I’m gone”

Seth | 11/17/2008, 9:08 pm EST

I don’t think they could have messed up the programming so bad if they had tried to. You take away The Rhyme, Backbeat, Chrome, The System, Strobe, and replace it with the HORRIBLE ShaDe station? They took 2 great things and made one awful thing. Like combining Nike and Adidas and making New Balance.

Donna | 11/17/2008, 9:10 pm EST

Just called xm-sirius radio and threaten to cancel…..they gave me 3 months free…but guess what??? I still canceling. this line up is garbage…I have xm in my car, at work and in my house. No way will I pay for this garbage. call and complain and get your 3 months free everyone….lol

T-Town Hustla | 11/17/2008, 9:18 pm EST

Bring back XM-RAW MZ.KITTI,LEO G or I will cancel my YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION. Shade 45 is super WACK…. I am starting to listen to FM now… WTF

Pissed Off | 11/17/2008, 10:13 pm EST

I was also a fan of the Strobe. I emailed Sirius and told them that the 70’s station is no comparison. I hope they reconsider and bring it back. If you are fans of Strobe please call and/or email and demand they bring it back.

Yvette | 11/17/2008, 11:30 pm EST

Siriusly” DISSATISFIED with the quality of music and tried terminating service but got hung up on SIX TIMES. The primary stations I listen to (XM 62, 65, 66 & 67) have been replaced with poor music selection and terrible DJ personalities that talk too much. They do more talking then playing music. What happen to commercial free! XM stations Suite 62 & Raw 66 played the best music NOW it’s just garbage (those channels were the only reason why I subscribed). Ms. Kitty and Leo G. ARE captivating personalities with great music selections and they kept the talking to a minimum. If I wanted garbage music I would have subscribed to Sirius. I have to continuously change channels to hear something of quality. The only reason I did not purchase a Mercedes Benz because it came with Sirius radio

The Real Peoples Opinion | 11/18/2008, 12:42 am EST

You dumb ass rotten idiotic CEO mother fucking mucky mucks! Bring back 66 RAW with Leo G and Mz. Kitti. Who the hell did you speak to when considering pulling the plug on RAW? You obviously did go out to the streets to see what the listeners wanted! Slim is a fucking fag and has ruined what used to be the leading hip hop station of all times RAW 66! I’d like to stick a 45 up shad’s ass and blow his fucking guts out!

dwayne | 11/18/2008, 3:56 am EST

i guess it’s back to Cd’s know that 66 and 65 are gone. guess i’m gone too.peace out bitches

TX Diva | 11/18/2008, 7:12 am EST

I hate it!!!! I miss my suite 62 the city!!! you guys should have really asked for the consumer’s opinion.

C-dog | 11/18/2008, 9:44 am EST

Carlos | 11/17/2008, 12:35 pm EST

Agree with many of you on here upset about losing channel 65 (old-skool hip-hop)! just simply an idiotic decision. Another bone-head move was consolidating the latin stations! I grew up in N.Y.C listening to merengue/salsa and when i moved to south texas i bought XM because that type of music isn’t played down here. Some ‘genius’ decided to have 1 station playing merengue, salsa, AND TEJANO & Spanish pop??! This merger is horrible! XM sounds more & more like FM radio. If it wasn’t for baseball i would cancel in a heartbeat! it seems as if they are simply marketing to white males over 50: 24/7 stations for Elvis, bruce springteen, A/C D/C, Grateful Dead, and Frank Sinatra! what a joke!!

john | 11/18/2008, 9:57 am EST

please call sirius and tell them to bring back the STROBE channel 37… there # is 1-888-539-7474… pleas call and call and call we can get this done…
thanks and have a great day DISCO needs to live so call SIRius/XM @ 1-888-539-7474….

Bob | 11/18/2008, 10:13 am EST

I’m glad to see that so many people are as outraged as I am at the loss of quality stations at the now moribund Sirius/XM. I’m close to sixty and loved the eclectic music mix of Disorder, but I can clearly empathize with lovers of hiphop , disco, country, etc. who feel as totally screwed as I do. Right up to the end Meg Griffin was extolling the virtues of Disorder. Can you spell HYPOCRITE? As for Disorder’s replacement the LOFT they should rename it COMATOSE after one of the songs they play on it! Whoever made these programming decisions must be a George W. Bush relation.

Take Action | 11/18/2008, 11:35 am EST

Write Scott Greenstein, the President and Chief Content Officer of Sirius XM at SGreenstein at siriusradio dot com and Mel Karmazin, the CEO of Sirius XM at KMarmazin at siriusradio dot com

CrazyClouds | 11/18/2008, 11:41 am EST

After reading all the comments I hope that XM fixes their mistake. If not i am just rocking the ipod from now on. You got rid of 3 of the 5 stations i listen to. Why on earth would you get rid of 65 the rhyme tho. Now you have no music in that genre. and 62 the suite what am i suppose to get down to? Xm is more like fm radio now for sure with the new station radios talking so much and even commercials on 21 and 22. I might as well cancel and listen to fm radio, XM i think forgot their mission statement and what made them appealing to the consumer in the first place.

djmorado | 11/18/2008, 2:34 pm EST

Did anyone ever see or fill out
a survey from XM? I think that’s
B.S.

They killed Fred with 1st Wave.
I went from Joy Divsion and Cocteau Twins to Howard Jones and
The Bangels.

No excuse for getting rid of The Rhyme,Raw, Chrome, Move, Fine Tuning, X-Country or the System.

80% of what I have read in talkbacks like this have been negative. I wonder how they are going to react? Canceled my service and moved on with Slacker.

JW | 11/18/2008, 2:37 pm EST

Bring back Channel 37 Strobe. The 70’s station sucks. No comparison. For those who like that type of music, there is nothing that compares. Why did you screw up the stations? That is one of the reasons I liked my satellite radio. Why screw up something that works!

Never liked XM | 11/18/2008, 4:01 pm EST

why canceled the service when term ran
out. But did like the sirius
lineup. Have it in 2 cars and the
house. Now with the change it
sounds like XM. Unless it goes
back to the Sirius format going to
cancel all the services. XM plays
songs that are not the top hits
and the combination of songs are
like where did they dig this up
at. And they have announcers
flapping there jaws. If want that
why not tune into reg radio

Yvette | 11/18/2008, 7:24 pm EST

I’m freaking out without my Strobe Channgel 37. I am BEGGING them to bring it back. Otherwise, I don’t need the service!!!

Mike | 11/18/2008, 8:53 pm EST

The Loft? Not even close to Sirius Disorder.
Bye bye Sirius, hello iPod.

RALPH | 11/18/2008, 10:55 pm EST

TO THE CEO ETC OF SIRIUS RADIO YOU SUCK THE BIG 1 …………

very happy! | 11/19/2008, 12:53 am EST

im so happy sirius and xm got rid of those channels. i mean, now we have 33 pop/rock stations!! isnt that great? i think they should add MORE rock stations. in fact, they should make every station a rock station!! yeah!!! seriously, these people are GAY for what they did. obviously, the morons in charge love gay pop/rock and hate disco, dance, freestyle and old school hip hop. GOOD JOB IDIOTS.

HD Radio, Here I Come | 11/19/2008, 1:11 am EST

Everyone just go out and buy an HD Radio for your car/home/work. Why pay 14 bucks a month when you can listen to FREE music?

All Sirius and XM did was put together a line up of mostly shitty rock stations that you can hear anyways on FM radio.

Why pay for that when you can have it for free anyways?

pure and utter gayness!! | 11/19/2008, 1:18 am EST

i’m so happy sirius and xm got rid of those channels. i mean, now we have 33 pop/rock stations!! isn’t that great? i think they should add MORE rock stations. in fact, they should make every station a rock station!! yeah!!

NewYorkCarlos | 11/19/2008, 9:20 am EST

HDRadio,Here I come, why pay?

Mets fan living in Texas thats why. There are alot of sports fans who bought Xm/Sirius for sports & then fell in love with it cause we got to hear our music; The sh*t not played on FM radio over & over again.. Now XM has become a joke! “hip-hop” stations that play lil’ wayne/50 cent/kanye west over & over again!! Also, whomever made the decision to have Mexican tejano & spanish pop on the same station as merengue/salsa should be beaten with a broomstick!! bring back channel 65 idiots!!

Derka Derka | 11/19/2008, 10:50 am EST

Shady 45 is terrible. You are supposed to an xL hip hop station and yesterday you played kanye west stronger. that is fruit snack bullsh*t. please god let leo g and mizz kitty have back rax for the whole day versus like the 2 hours they’re alotted now.

Hell no! | 11/19/2008, 3:19 pm EST

The change was definitely not for the better. If I wanted Sirius I’d have gotten it without you having to merge. Bring back channels 60-68 as they were. Especially ch 60, Soul Street. The rap stations are weak. All the new DJ’s I’ve heard stink. Their voices unpleasing to the ear and the song rotation is so fast you hear the same mess too soon. What? You lost half your library, too? Why didn’t the price decrease along with the crappy programming? And to think I used to brag on how good XM was. No more! Truly glad subscription runs out at the end of the year.

Hell no! | 11/19/2008, 3:21 pm EST

Bone Yard…bone yard…bone yard…bone yard!!!

bernard | 11/19/2008, 9:48 pm EST

i liked sirrus when i had it in my truck at my job for free. but i will not pay for another subcription in my toyota if i can’t have mizz kitty raw.

mycarsanova | 11/19/2008, 10:50 pm EST

lost Buzzsaw = can’t find a suitable replacement or listen to 24/7 AC/DC

guess i’m awful shallow.

XM no longer worth the price | 11/19/2008, 11:35 pm EST

I want all of my original XM stations back! If I wanted Sirrus, that’s what I would have purchased. Why not give XM customers the option to pay for additional SIRRUS stations they want to add and vice versa…it keeps us as customers happy and will probably generate money instead of losing both SIRRUS and XM customers that don’t like the consolidation of stations but still will allow those that want certain stations the option to pay for them individually or a set price for a group (may an extra $5 for any 5 stations). I think my IPOD will get filled up for the price I was paying each month for XM. Some of you mentioned not renewing your subscription but I think I want to cancel mine now and get a refund. This is not what I purchased when I prepaid for 3 years.

ED | 11/20/2008, 12:43 am EST

This is terrible that they dropped the Rhyme and XL Raw. Ms Kitty and Leo G now gone. WTF is up with that. And THE RHYME? Im an old school cat, I want to listen to the old school and golden era of hip hop. Bring back The Rhyme and XL Raw. If they dont, I am cancelling for sure.

Dave | 11/20/2008, 8:17 am EST

Really missing CHROME over here :( At least they didn’t cancel my channel 77 classical station…yet. Still deciding if I am going to cancel at the end of the subscription. CHROME was my most listened to station.

JOEJETSON | 11/20/2008, 10:45 am EST

NO STROBE? You have got to be kidding me. We have a 4′ disco ball in my 1800 SF garage with 5 pinspots on it. Without the STROBE 37, there is no reason to have it there. We have (had) Friday and Saturday night bashes in there and everything has changed. They didn’t even carry over the XM Chrome channel. Where is the thought in this? Call the SIRIUS number and log your complaint. They are getting all names/numbers/accounts logged and will be considering their course of action (so I am told). I have 4 subscriptions that I will be cancelling. BOOOOOOO. Bad move Sirius/XM. Joe Causi, Deni Terio, and even that guy that rolled the r’s (REAZZAR). WTF??? I tried listening to Joe Causi on SIRIUS 7 on Saturday night and it wasn’t even close. SIRIUS 7 as their recommended replacement? Elton John??? Come on.

Stuck | 11/20/2008, 8:28 pm EST

Sign the petiton to bring back 65 the Rhyme and 66 Raw. Google 66 Raw petition!

Jay-z | 11/22/2008, 2:30 pm EST

I was really disappointed with Sirius when they simply got rid of the Strobe the next day after the merger. I mean the whole point of Sirius & Xm is to appeal for all kinds of genres, So why did they get rid of the Strobe 37 ? The fact that they compare 70’s on 7 with the Strobe is a joke!!!

I'm GONE!!! F-This!! | 11/22/2008, 2:54 pm EST

I was a Sirius user prior to the merge I thought it was going to be great… Maybe 2 Old School Channels… NOW THEY HAVE 0!!!! Other channels missing as well… I am canceling at the end of the month… I mise well use an MP3 player and load it up for free on LIME WIRE… I always leke Sat radio because you could hear what kind of music 24/7 – 365… Now there are time slots…LoL… So stupid!!! Hope they go under now!!! They pissed off all music listeners Young & old at that with all sorts of music…

Thanks alot Sirius!!! You Suck NOW!!!

QueenBee Disco | 11/22/2008, 3:46 pm EST

I just canceled my subscription to Sirius. All Disco lovers unite. Bring back the Strobe. Don’t Take Away The Music!

Greg | 11/22/2008, 6:05 pm EST

Definitely bring back the Strobe. It was one of two channels I listened to, and if it’s gone, there’s no reason for me to keep Sirius. If it’s not back by the end of the year, I’m canceling also. The 70’s channel is not even a close replacement.

towanda | 11/22/2008, 6:58 pm EST

does anyone know wat happened to mz.kitti?? i know tht leo.g is on hiphop nation.i’m so sick of this shit the new changes.if they dont hurry up and get something done im gonna cancel my shit. im not paying for xm to hear shade45.those motherfuckers suck real bad.

XM Lover | 11/23/2008, 4:50 pm EST

I had Sirius and HATED the DJ,s. Who wants to listen to DJ’s? We all got satelite radio for the music, NOT to listen to Greg Brady. I switched to XM, No DJ’s and great music. (chrome) Now I guess I’ll dump XM at the end of the year and hook my ipod to my car.
Sirius I knew you SUCKED!!
XM you are now on the same list!
You SUCK TOO!

Dude | 11/23/2008, 8:58 pm EST

Both cxompanies now suck seeing as they merged…….

Only good thing is: THE SYSTEM IS STILL ONLINE AND UNCHANGED (But its been on auto pilot)

Anthony | 11/24/2008, 12:15 am EST

Since the Strobe is gone, I don’t have a neede for Sat radio. 70s on 7 and 80s on 8 are no comparison to the fromer Totally 70s and Big 80s channels. Good luck with out my 3 receivers Sirius XM

Tim | 11/24/2008, 8:05 am EST

XM sucks since the merger… they really need to bring back 65 and 66 back!!!!!!

Tim | 11/24/2008, 8:12 am EST

Try getting rid of some of those boring ass news/talk stations… you got more there than the hip hop lineup…

Bob | 11/24/2008, 11:32 am EST

WTF is a light way of putting the new Sirius programming. When did Seal become 90’s rock/grunge and why the hell is the channel being censored now? I guess my 2 subscriptions will be leaving when Stern leaves. Weezers “Hash Pipe” song came out in 2006 so why is that on the 90’s channel? O yeah, Beasties Boys “Paul Revere” was in 86. Why is that on 90’s? WTF!!

Mac | 11/24/2008, 4:26 pm EST

80s on 8 sucks. The big 80s was much better. It also told you the year that the song came out. im cancelling my 2 subscriptions and getting a Ipod or mp3.

Myra | 11/24/2008, 6:56 pm EST

Sirus is wack and if they don’t bring back 65 and 66 its DONE, shade 45 is WACKKKKKK the DJ’s SUCKKKKKKKKK and where the hell is Ms. Kitty, this has to be a joke, I am old school and 65 is a must. I will cancel if they don’t bring them back!!!!!!!

Bring back raw | 11/24/2008, 8:33 pm EST

I can’t believe they took off RAW, I’m canceling my 2 subscriptions as well. The 2 stations that replaced them are just as bad a terrestrial radio, I hope they lose a lot of money and customers over this one.

the real | 11/25/2008, 11:40 pm EST

mz kitti and leo g suck. glad they;re off never heard of them before this

turbin head | 11/26/2008, 10:31 am EST

really smart taking off 66 raw… sirius/xm now sucks and i will be cancelling my 3 accounts.. hope this crappy service goes bankrupt, who the hell wants to listen to martha stewart or fuckin oprah winfrey when u drive??, please, id rather swallow a gallon of gas!! really heartbreaking!!! thanks to those moron ceo’s who make the decisions!!!

Anonymous | 11/26/2008, 10:33 am EST

by sirius/xm… you know SUCK,,, im cancelling my 3 accounts on the 3rd.. thanks for nothing!! hope u go bankrupt!!!!

Suz | 11/26/2008, 10:38 am EST

Since they decided to remove the channels I paid for — Boombox specifically — and their version of Chill is horrible, there’s no reason to PAY for this HORRIBLE service. It’s the same as regular, FREE RADIO. I paid to get Liquid Todd and others, NOT this POP2K and 20 channels of the same rock stations I can tune into on my FREE radio. I paid for programming by specific people. I listened to specific genres which are now gone; now there’s electronica stations, all monotonous crap you’d hear in a club while waving glowsticks, well guess what SIRIUS? I’m not on X WHILE DRIVING MY CAR! I want breakbeats, Liquid Todd, DJ Icey, etc. I want the CHILL channel back and NOT XM’s. I want the PUNK channel back!!! I DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR POP CHANNELS OR TYPICAL ROCK! I can tune into those on FREE RADIO! I can plug in my iPOD — F_R_E_E_!!! DO YOU HEAR US?!?

I doubt it. Corporate suits are typically daft.

Transam86 | 11/27/2008, 1:43 pm EST

WHY THE PHUCK DIDNT THEY JUST KEEP BOTH FULL LISTS FROM BOTH CARRIERS AND ADD ALL OF THE STAITIONS TOGETHER?????????? HOW DAMN HARD WOULD THAT HAVE BEEN THEN ELIMINATE WHAT S0 MANY PEOPLE LOVE???? I HATE COMMERCIALS WHY DID NASHVILLE HAVE COMMERCIALS IN IT?? YOU PEOPLE BETTER GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER AND PUT BACK 2 FULL LISTS OR MANY MANY PEOPLE WILL BE CANCELING THERE ACCOUNTS!!! I LIKED STROBE CHROME THANKFULKLY THEY JEPT HAIR NATION!!!! WE LOST MANY GOOD STATIONS AND THEY BETTER BRING THEM BACK!!!!!!

Transam86 | 11/27/2008, 1:51 pm EST

YOU PEOPLE BETTER GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER OR YOUR GONNA LOOSE MILLIONS OF LISTENERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRING BACK 2 FULL LISTS WHY ARE WE PAYING FOR A SERVICE THAT SUCKS??? HOW HARD IS IT TO PUT UP 1 FILL XM LIST AND 1 FULL SERIUS LIST WHO CARSE ABOUT ORCA OR THAT FRIGGIN DYKE MARTH STEWERT BRING BACK BOTH LISTS!!!!!!!!!

WTF! | 11/28/2008, 1:49 pm EST

wtf!! is what came to my mind when i went to find my favorite station after the merger!! We now know the evils of a monopoly! The reason I paid for Sirius is because XM sucks! NOW they force me to listen to XM garbage???? I’m cancelling my 3 subscriptions as well. this is BS!

james in CA | 11/29/2008, 2:16 am EST

As it is they don’t have alot of hip hop/rb channels and they go and delete Backspin and the Strobe? They have some real idiots running the show at sirius. These fools don’t reallly give sht what the people want they only do what they want. They really screwed up a good thing!

Peter | 11/29/2008, 8:51 pm EST

Just get rid of the dj (moronic) chatter, that makes listening to sattelite radio the equivalant of FM. The reason sirius was such a loser is they didn’t shut up!!!!

dizz | 12/1/2008, 2:22 pm EST

I tried to give the new Hip Hop stations a try but can’t. I like what they’re trying to do but they talk more than FM. And why in the hell would you get rid of The Rhyme and not replace it with another old school Hip Hop station? Why are there so many news stations? I am breaking out the cd’s and iPod again. You didn’t even have the courtesy to send out a new play list to all the subscribers. No warning, vote, letter, e-mail, phone call, smoke signal -NOTHING! How rude, just get in the car one day thinking someone reprogrammed my stations. I definitely will not renew.

Mattg | 12/4/2008, 3:27 am EST

So where did my 65 and 66 go? That’s the only reason for me having this bullshit subscription. Not only do I buy expensive parts for my car on top of everything. Haven’t listened to it for weeks now. A friggin paperwheight!!! Thanks a lot assholes… You’ve just lost a customer

Mattg | 12/4/2008, 3:35 am EST

Oh ya how could I forget CLOVERG radio Thursday. Many other talented djs on 66. Dirt dog and wu tribe and other musical masterpieces wu on 65… I wouldn’t even be on here killing time if ya knew how to run a company. Recession probly did this anyways :( Ittle be missed. r.i.p.

Steve | 12/4/2008, 4:21 pm EST

If they don’t bring the 3,37 and the old line up that makes “Sirius” And put the menu back as it was. I am done as well. Worst part is there isn’t even a replacement on channel for 37 its just gone. And don’t tell me the 70’s station is a replacement IT IS NOT!. A station with 30/40’s music replaced 3 and me Parents and their friends Loved that station Moving EZ? Big mistake! I can listen to free crap from the Internet for that line up you now have . In other words keep Xm and Sirius as it was there was no need to change the lineup its Digital that means you have plenty of room for Millions of channels and JOBS!

sha | 12/4/2008, 6:26 pm EST

What the hell am I payin for? Regular radio? Naw that’s not the bizness, Shade 45 is not IT! Its wack and so are the DJ’s and since the merger some of the shade 45 DJ’s had the nerve to say that the shows that were cancelled were wack. Are You Serious? Raw was like OG Kush and shade 45 is like Reggie Miller shake. And that’s real!

Craig | 12/5/2008, 4:57 pm EST

I don’t want to beat a dead horse but where the F*#& is my 66 raw. Shade45 is F’ing garbage. I’m cancelling my shit too!

Joe Bull | 12/10/2008, 5:54 am EST

I have been a customer for as long as xm satellite radio has been in existance. I am really upset over taking XM 66 raw off the air. I cancelled my two subscriptions.

angry in NH | 12/12/2008, 1:39 am EST

Boombox-RIP
The only reason I was paying for this expensive piece of crap! Their talk radio is a JOKE!! All comeericals and 5 minutes of actuall talk radio inbetween the 15 minutes of commericals. IOn my way to work (1.5 hour commute) I counted 30 minutes of actuall talk radio. Ever since they cancelled my channels, like Boombox, my favorite artists have beeped about 3 times…. Lower my monthly rate or I’m cancelling my 2 radios. Unless you bring back boombox and fix your lame stations you call (talk radio) it should be renamed commerical radio.

SWS | 12/12/2008, 12:36 pm EST

X65 was good historical old school RAP…IT IS A MUST TO HAVE IF I CHOOSE TO KEEP THIS SATELLITE RADIO…Think of X65 as a good music historical channel…I could ride for hours listening and feeling that grove….Now I’m stuck with these tatooed, fake dreglocks, ingorant…N-gahhhh ignorant pride…none rhyming…grutting …no funk so called rappers….BRING OLE’ SCHOOL BACK a combination of XM65/SIRUS 43…WOULD BE PERFECT..I can’t stand this new rap stuff..

What happened to my X65…I have both sirus and xm a combination of the two would of been perfect…Now I stuck with RAP Station where the top word is used is NIGGAHHH,,,its embarrassing driving around in a public place listening to a RAP station as a black man with DJ’s and rappers referring to each other as NIGGAHHHS…X65 Ole School Rap had a very limited use of the word NIGGAhhhh in their rhymes…it was so much deeper then what you hear on Shady 45…and that commercial shit I hear on the other rap channels is exactly the reason why stopped listening to broadcast radio….This new format on XM/Sirus is just like broadcast radio..They will try to get your mind hooked on certain sounds and have you craving it like CRACK….GET SERIOUS WITH YOUR NEW LINE UP OR I WILL CALL MY 3 ACCOUNTS…..OLE’ SCHOOL IS WHERE IT STARTED AND IT SHOULD ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE.

Man, I thought I was the only one upset by the terrible channel changes. I miss my dance channels (chrome, the system) and Lucy, Ethel and Fred. They are totally out of touch with the listeners. I hate that XM subscribers got screwed because now there’s so much talking which I assume came from Sirius. I got satrad so I wouldn’t have to listen to fake, lame “dj’s”. Sam in Chi-town

LMB | 12/28/2008, 12:06 pm EST

I really enjoyed The Loft, but now with these blathering announcers it won’t be getting any more of my cash. I mean, really, I do not enjoy listening to a couple of smack heads shooting up and talking idiocy! Was great, now it is awful.

Potential Lost Customer | 12/29/2008, 3:09 pm EST

I can not believe you got rid of Sirius channel 43, old skool rap. Listening to Monie Love really is not appealing at all; they have no broadcast class – very distasteful. Bring back channel 43.

Brian | 1/1/2009, 2:16 pm EST

I was a long time subscriber… shocked that they would essentially pull a bait and switch on their own customers! I shut my wonderful XM radio off for the night and woke up to horrible commercial programming with tons of useless blather. I knew Howard Stern was bad, but I honestly didn’t know how bad the rest of Sirius was until then. Like I told XM… if I wanted sh*tty programming, I would have bought sh*tty programming! I guess it was a real sense of betrayal that I will never get over. I will stay with mp3s until someone offers something better.

I have just called the corporate office (202-380-4000) to leave a message of my discontent. Channel 83 needs to be reinstated. (I’m sorry, but 7 and 64 do not replace.) Since the merger I hear 1 song an hour that I want to hear. I don’t hear Boogie Nights anymore like I used to…. The whole thing of playing not so happy mood songs is NOT going to KEEP ME A SUBSCRIBER. I’m not paying for 2nd rate music, RIGHT ARTIST-WRONG SONG, etc. Sad that I can find better on a regular radio staion for free. So SirusXM, please lets get on the ball. I will discontinue if they keep playing crap. We need to voice our dissatisfaction and hopefully we will get somewhere.

THE DELAROSOSAS | 1/19/2009, 8:43 pm EST

WE WANT XM RAW BACK.BARAK OBAMA BECOMES PRESIDENT TOMORROW AND WANT TO CELEBRATE WITH MZ. KITTI AND LEO G.

Pissed | 1/21/2009, 2:49 am EST

XM was very good before the merger, now I never hear back from feedback. XM Channels are nothing like XM started. I have multiple receivers and not loving the content anymore. I pre-viewed both services and chose XM, but the combined program / music catalog is not doing pay radio justice. Why I’m I paying for a lack of communications back to the customer and the watered down MUSIC!

Bella Mama | 1/30/2009, 9:31 am EST

now we have to pay extra in order to listen online? this is crap!

Bunny | 2/11/2009, 6:38 pm EST

I woke up one morning and found that most of my channels have been changed or were deleted from the lineup. I find myself listening to FM radio more than Sirius XM. Chrome alone with a few others are gone, the music on ’60s, ’70s, ’80s is boring and stale, ’90s now plays that ugly early ’90s club/dance music that was horrible back then & hip hop/rap.

I will not renew when my prepaid is up, I would have canceled had I not prepaid.
I miss the old XM!

P.S. I hear the price will go up $2 and no free online listening :(

K. Lindsey | 3/4/2009, 10:17 pm EST

Okay, as an XM subscriber since 2004, I’ve held my judgement on this merger for the past three months while trying to adjust to it. Now my vote is out: THUMBS DOWN ALL THE WAY! The bulk of my music listening was in the rock channels. There’s not one single thing about this merger that did not significantly degrade the playlist depth and the music choice programming quality. Playlists are shallow, genres are weak, there is excessive DJ chatter and this merge is doing less with 20 rock channels than XM used to do with just 15. And what I hear on those channels are entirely inconsistent with the sirius XM claims that they’re supposed to eliminate redundancies. Why does channel 45 rectum… I mean spectrum play songs that should be covered by Deep Tracks, 80’s Alternative, 60’s 70’s classic rock while not replacing Cafe Music? Why do they play any Bob Dylan or Grateful Dead on the other channels when they have dedicated Dylan and Dead channels? I often find myself not knowing what channel I’m on because I often hear songs played on one channel that can often be heard on others. What did sirius XM do with all their money? Spend it all on Howard Stern? They need to spend it on more music!

I want XM 66 RAW back, I want MZ KITTI and LEO G back. I missed the them and I missed the stations

Dananna | 4/7/2009, 3:43 pm EST

Man I was extremely hot about RAW and Mz Kitti being replaced. I do get to hear the General ova on Hiphop Nation. But my sirrus radio is not the same without them together. Don’t get me wrong, I like Emenim, but replacing RAW sucks. I don’t even listen to 65 anymore.
Does anyone know where Mz. Kitti is now?

Dananna | 4/7/2009, 3:46 pm EST

Ok. I meant I don’t listen to 66 anymore.

ANGEL FRON NEW HAVEN CT | 4/18/2009, 8:13 pm EST

XM SUCKS WITHOUT MIZZ KITTI. BOTTOM LINE

ANGEL (NEW HAVEN) | 4/18/2009, 8:17 pm EST

FUCK U XM

md1972 | 4/25/2009, 3:10 am EST

I’ve had XM since 2006. I LOVED 66Raw!!! The eliminated 66Raw and replaced it with Shady45??? They got rid of Mz Kiti and replaced here with some Wack-A** Angela Yee??? All this chick talks about is dumb Sh**!! I’ve tried, but I can’t stomach that station for more than 2seconds!! These days, I’m forced to listen to my Beloved LEO G, on 67. I have to hear the same radio friendly ‘Hip Hop’songs (vs. the RAW Rap that was played on XM66) played on FM radio, played in heavy rotation on XM67!! I renewed for 3mos, shortly after the switch took place. I dont think I’ll renew!!!

Clayton | 6/18/2009, 9:12 pm EST

xm radio is awesome. All the bitches out there were wrong xm radio is all i listen to.
