  • Kanye West gets animated in the Waking Life-ish video for Heartless, the second single off Ye’s upcoming 808s & Heartbreak, out November 25th. Check the video above.

  • Katy Perry hosted yesterday’s MTV Europe Music Awards and also went home with the Best New Act trophy. Other winners include Britney Spears for Act of 2008 and Best Album (Blackout), Kanye West for Ultimate Urban, Pink’s “So What” as Most Addictive Track and Rick Astley, who won the prestigious Best Act Ever.
  • Jamaican music legend Byron Lee passed away Monday after a battle with cancer. He was 73. Along with being the founding member of the Dragonaries, he also help establish the studio Dynamic Sounds, where the likes of David Bowie and the Rolling Stones would record.
  • Lollapalooza’s promoters inked a deal to make Chicago’s Grant Park its summer home for the next 10 years. If Chicago were to land the 2016 Olympics, the festival would be postponed and the contract extended a year.
