50 Cent Doles Out Business Advice on “The Money and the Power”

11/3/08, 1:36 pm EST

In these troubling economic times, 50 Cent has some words of advice: “Turn Shit Into Sugar.”

That slogan is spray-painted on the wall at “Camp Curtis,” the Brooklyn warehouse where the rapper is filming The Money and the Power, his new MTV show debuting on November 6th. (Another motivational nugget: “Use Your Cents to Make Change”).

The program — which 50 hosts, alongside G-Unit consigliere Tony Yayo — features 14 aspiring entrepreneurs who compete in challenges that mix business savvy, street smarts and even physical strength. One episode finds the contestants bound together, chain-gang style, as they run a race.

Each show ends with someone getting kicked off, but don’t confuse it with The Apprentice: “Nobody gets fired on this one,” says 50. “You get dropped.” And not gently. “You have one more chance,” the rapper tells one competitor during an elimination. “In Hell. Get the fuck outta here!”

50 — who pulled in $150 million last year to become the world’s richest rapper — will invest $100,000 in the winner’s business plan. So what does he think about his crop of wannabe execs? “They’re adapting to the environment and looking for opportunities to turn bad things into good things,” he says. “They’re becoming something more than when they came in.”

Here’s another clip from the show:

wah, wah, wah…
at least hes contributing. Unlike the vast majority of people from the inner city. I guess Americans paying for 50 in prison is better than 50 using his talents to be a legit business man. Go watch the WB with Will Smith, ho.

Who cares. I am tired of seeing jailbait promoted as real men in our society. This man should be in jail hugging up on someone. I am black and I would like someone who don’t look gansta promoted as the average guy in black society. What happen to the cosbys.
