- Neil Young canceled his Los Angeles concert last night out of respect for a union picket. Young, an honorary member of the International Association of Theatrical Stage Employees, said “I am extremely disappointed to have to choose between satisfying my fans or backing my brothers and sisters of the IATSE.” The concert will be rescheduled for 2009.
- The suspected handgun used in the murders of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew was recovered by police during a search nearby one of the murder scenes. Police have turned over the .45-caliber gun to a crime lab.
- Bruce Springsteen, My Morning Jacket and DMC have contributed tracks to the Hard Rock Café’s charity compilation Serve3. The album will benefit the restaurant chain’s “Imagine There’s No Hunger” campaign.
- Aerosmith’s Joe Perry revealed his support of John McCain for President. “I’ve been a hardcore Republican my whole life,” Perry said. The McCain campaign responded in a statement “John McCain absolutely appreciates his support.”
