Coldplay, “When You Were Young” [Killers Cover]
We’re not sure which is more adorable: Coldplay’s incredibly heartfelt take on this Killers single, or the fact that the woman who bootlegged it is both an eager and vocal Chris Martin fan.

Daft Punk, “One More Time” [Rhynecologist Remix]
A Canadian DJ with a questionable moniker slices, dices and re-arranges this Daft Punk chestnut. To return the favor, Daft Punk suggest they consider “Colorynegist” instead.

Empire of the Sun, “Walking on a Dream” [Van She Remix]
We’re fairly sure Empire of the Sun were the inspiration for that Andy Samberg “Space Olympics” SNL short a few weeks ago. The difference is, they are serious, where Samberg was joking. In any case: Spandau Ballet ‘08 gets a bit more backbone in this punchy remix.

Santogold, “L.E.S. Artistes” [Left/Right Remix]
Santogold somehow gets sleeker and shinier in this high-tech remix, proof that sometimes even polish can benefit from a little more polish.

Various Artists, Jamaican Halloween Spooktacular [Mixtape]
For the last few weeks, Distinctly Jamaican Sounds has been giving away a Halloween reggae mixtape, one track at a time. They’re up track 18 now, which seemed like as good a time as any to catch up. If the words “Halloween” and “reggae” don’t get you through the door, you’re practically begging for an egging.
