Slash is very cool. It would be easy for him to say “I dont really care, Im in Velvet Revolver, blah blah blah” but he is obviously a music fan and an admirer of Axl, even after all the nonsense they went through.

Yeah it is cool of Slash to admire Axl’s new recordings, but it makes for boring news! Wouldn’t it be better to hear Slash trash Axl and rip him a new a-hole and say that the new GnR is the biggest piece of trash he’s ever heard? I would find that more interesting. It makes for a juicy story.

Amen Joe.

It’s that quiet confidence that Slash has always had. He knows it just ain’t quite Guns without him, and I think he’s right. The new song sounds lame.

I love Slash and whichever of Axl’s rotating guitarists played on CD the song use a completely different style and it shreds. He knows its not the OLD GNR and he is complimenting Axl for branching out. Slash has already pointed out that the 5 AFD members of GNR could not have made CD. Slash also knows that trashing the new GNR would make him sound jealous and petty, a la Ian Mcculloch from Echo and the Bunnymen trashing Bono. Slash is a class act.

That comment by Slash is absurdly touching. Warms my heart a little to see one rock veteran compliment another, regardless of their turbulent history. Now if Vince Neil comes out and says something nice, we will know that Axl’s music heals all. LOL

There are people who go to college to study public relations, which help famous celebrities project a good image for themselves. If you read Slash, the autobiography, you’ll know that the Axl-Slash relationship behind the scenes is quite ugly. The only reason Slash said a reasonably nice comment is because his ole’ band, GNR, is on the rise and VR is on the downfall. If he talked the way he wanted to talk about GNR it would’ve ultimately shut down the spotlight on him for a while. He must of struggled to say that shit.

I love slash! I’m obsessed! I think his comment proves he’s true to his music and that he’s the bigger person by complimenting axl. I love slash!!!

Slash is the all time guitar God, without him rock n roll would of died axl’s GnR has zip to offer any old Guns fans but yep! snake pit and VR certainly do, long live the Slasher for he is king
