The hacker who accessed Miley Cyrus‘ email and posted provocative pictures of the singer online found himself the focus of an FBI raid despite boasts that “authorities would never find him.” Kevin Holly of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, snuck into Cyrus’ Gmail account and stole pictures the singer intended for then-boyfriend Nick Jonas by sneaking into MySpace’s private files and finding an old password that Cyrus used. According to Wired’s Threat Level and Holly himself, the hacker tricked MySpace into thinking he was an administrator in order to get the password, which also happened to unlock the Gmail. The FBI, with search warrant in hand, took three computers and Holly’s phone as a result of the raid, which came mere hours after Holly gloated to message boarders that the feds would never find him. It’s not like Holly did a good job staying anonymous in the weeks following his crimes: After failing to sell the photos to gossip sites, Holly posted the photos himself, bragged that he was the hacker, contacted Wired about writing a profile and even gave interviews to radio stations. No charges have been filed against Holly as of yet.
