nothing could ever be as good as their first, and i hope they prove me wrong, but their newer stuff is still good. When i first bought the red album i shut it off after the first few and said wtf. but after listening to it a few more times i like it, sure its not close to their early stuff. but its nothing to ostracize.

Disliking post-green album weezer is not all about being pretentious. I’m not pretentious when it comes to music, but I just haven’t liked anything they’ve done after pinkerton. Their sound changed, went from complex to very simple, and a lot of people don’t like that. It has nothing to do with pretentious, just different tastes and standards. No big deal.

I haven’t really cared for much post Green album but I love River’s Demos and the unreleased stuff. I’ll be picking this up

i still love weezer no matter what, and any album by rivers i will support no questions asked.

Steve, you’re a joke. Yeah, Weezer will never make anything as godlike as their first two albums, but they still show signs on every album of their true potential. TGMTEL is Rivers in full form, IMO.

Can we finally get some moderation to Weezer love/hate?

Truth be told, Make Believe/Red were not as bad some people bitch about. They were just different.

No, they aren’t what they used to be, but it’s not like they sold out or anything. There sound is a little more mainstream, so they attracted a few more stupid pop fans, oh well.

The band is still good, even if they are a shell of what they used to be.

So lay off!

I second that (what will said)

i just realized how glad i am that pretentious people don’t listen to weezer anymore.

I just realized that I can’t support anything Weezer is doing or will do. I love the 1st two albums more than anything in the world, but they arent even a band anymore- they are a joke.
