The new album from Eminem will be a long over due refreshment to the music world. As some have publicly stated the last attempts from Em were a bit lacking. As do all musicians and actors and people of all fame lose their hunger and passion of what brought them to where they are at in life, so after a break in career for a much needed retirement from the game I believe that the new Eminem album will be fire as the same with Dr. Dre’s Detox. As for 50 his last attempt solo as well for G-Unit left a bit of suprise for myself. And in personal opinion 50 may need to take a moment to retire and take it back to the streets. Everyone loves a hungry underdog on thier stuggle to the top and Relapse will be Em’s return to the physcopath, evil genius, lylical god that we have all been missing in the past years, and the same can be said for Detox as well. And we can all hope and pray that the material that 50 will be using for the new album is from his more hungry days and not the days of comericalism and 100 million dollar deals.

first of all I’ll say im an em fan. he does his thing but anyone who says that his albums didnt get progressivly worse is a liar. Lyricly em is the best rapper of his time but with the decrese in lyrical content in his albums over time you have to ask yourself if his time is up. where some rappers have unlimited topics that never get old to their audiences and the thug image continues to be hot in the streets rappers like TI jeezy and wayne can always fall back to that type of music and it is felt by there audiences. Em never projected that type of image and the concepts of his songs went from entertaining us with battles of his personal life to songs like “puke” and “I dont have no legs” from his last album. Maybe the fact that he hasnt dropped a album in four years will give fans like myself hope that he will drop something of actual content and not just 16 tracks of pointless non sense. In my opinion this is the album that will make or break Ems name in rap history, and with four years prep time i hope it lives up to all the hype surrounding it. but if relapse is just a relapse of his last album Em will have lost at least one fans support and im sure many others will lose the respect that his first albums earned him. I wish him the best of luck but im gonna listen to this next album with a honest ear and not as a fan….

I agree with hip-hop being pointless in terms of inspiration, but it does have a tendency to sound good, which is what people desire at dance clubs (or even car music). Also, it does take talent to make ‘good lyrics’ Eminem focuses on modern media and tends to joke on them. The line with “Lindsay, please go back to seeing men. Samantha’s a two you’re practically a ten” is quite humorous in the song WE MADE YOU. I suppose it depends what you are looking for to consider music talent.

K. I’ve listened to ems stuff for the longest. Bought all of his cds just to support this guy and yes I got curtain call. But i’m not so much in a rush to go buy this album. From what i’ve heard on the web. I hope these tracks are fake and the real cd comes out on may 19th. All i heard was garbage on all these tracks. And everyone is saying he’s just changing his style with that annoying accent. I could barely sit through a whole song when he uses it. This is by far the worst debut and an excuse for an album. Very dissappointing if you ask me. I had such hope for new material. But lyrically. Its basic and not much content. So sad to hear this garbage. At first i dissed “we made you” when i first heard it but i saw the video and it grew on me. But all these songs are terrible. Never once did i need em’s songs to grow on me. It was always an instant hit. Now all this garbage is actually called quality. What he did a few years ago was quality, not this bs. Dont be a fan and promote this album. I hear all this talk about comparing styles of hip hop artists in terms of who’s the best. You have to understand that every artist has a story to tell and has lived a different lifestyle so you cannot compare. Biggie talks about the streets because he grew up in Brooklyn, 50 Cent talks about having money and females as well as things of the street because right off the bat he was signed to a big record deal where lots of money was made. Eminem in his music gathers his content from his struggles which is different because he is a different person. If you listen to the story line in the song “Beautiful” off his new album you can really get into his mind and see a picture of what is going on in his world, which is an element a lot of the best hip hop artists do and something that is missing in hip hop today. Now it has become about popping bottles, the kind of cars people drive, about sleeping with woman, which is all fine and dandy but who wants to hear that on every single song? I give Eminem credit for his story lines and the way he gives a clear image in his music. That’s what music is all about. Not every song on each album is usually a crowd pleaser but when Eminems music is good, it’s really good, especially compared to a lot of the garbage that’s being put out there lately. White, Black, Latino, Asian, it doesn’t matter, what matters is if it’s good or not.
