Awesome news about David Cook. He is a brilliant songwriter and musician. I’m looking forward to hearing his album on Nov. 18.

So far this tool from American Idol is off to a slow start. Yeah, real great album coming up. LOL Talk about some real artists RS.

I like everyone you just mentioned except that creep from american idol. Has Rolling Stone lowered their standards by even mentioning him? He’s a joke who no one in the industry will take seriously.

Cook is an amazing artist who just happens to have been on American Idol. Those who would dismiss him solely because of his Idol background are shallow and uninformed. His new album will prove he’s as worthy (or more)of coverage as the “established” rockers.

I like David Cook’s voice and the stuff he wrote on his past albums was pretty raw and cool (check it out for yourselves). Everyone needs to start someplace. What’s the big deal if someone gets their “foot in the door” through American Idol? I don’t get it.

Judge someone by their merits – wait for the album, at least!

Matt….I think I love you.

People are down right ignorant and rude – I applaud Rolling Stone for giving someone a chance…what a sad world we live in – so judgemental. I happen to love David Cook’s talent, he doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone but himself. Why not keep ugly comments to yourself…someone must have done you wrong.

I hope that all you doubters (and haters) are proven wrong by David Cook’s new album. He has plenty of talent. You try to do what he does because I don’t know if any of you would have even the slightest courage to do it. You have to bash him online, I’m sure you would have the balls to say it to his face.

I did not set out to like David Cook. But, every week of American Idol he got better and better. He was creative. Every week showed a different side of his talent and personality. He was just so much more real and likeable than most of the contestants. It didn’t take long before I was totally invested in him and his career. I had the pleasure of seeing him in person this summer several times and he is the consummate performer rocking out every night with such heart and soul you had to love him. I love Light On, his new single. It was co written by Chris Cornell that I have great respect for, too. He is working with some of the best people in rock and I don’t think they are wrong. It’s time to get over the stupid jealousy and recognize that this guy has talent and is an asset to the music business in any genre.

American Idol wasn’t around when AC/DC started out. I am not an AI watcher or fan…but happened to catch DC’s performance on there…and realized they had found a real talent. So do some research like other people said…there’s way more to DC than AI. AI is just a platform and if he hadn’t used it he’d still be bartending and singing in Tulsa…at least for a while. Someone was going to discover him. I’m glad it didn’t take 10 more years. At least Rolling Stone apparently has some writers who actually research before they write something down.

I love how you great snobbish rock afficionados piss on David Cook because he was on AI. Well, a whole lot of really big name rock people are pissing themselves over the chance to work with DC. What do they know, huh? lol.
