  • Janet Jackson has reportedly recovered from the undisclosed illness that forced her to cancel several concerts the past week. Her Rock Witchu tour will resume tomorrow night in Uncasville, CT.
  • Despite recruiting a cover band singer to fill in when Yes embarks on their 40th anniversary tour, bassist Chris Squires reiterates that Jon Anderson is still part of the band, saying “If Jon is well again next year, he’ll be back.”
  • If you really, really enjoyed the 1997 film Spiceworld, you can own a piece of movie history by bidding on the Spice Girls’ Union Jack double-decker bus from the film. Opening bid on eBay is a low 3,500 GBP, but figure shipping it to the States will cost double that.
  • David Archuleta will serenade fans of the Tampa Bay Rays tonight as the team faces off against the Boston Red Sox in Game 1 of the ALCS. Archie will sing “God Bless America” during the 7th inning stretch.

I’m not a sport fan and I’ll be watching the baseball game tonight just to see if they televised David Archuleta’s performance. I hope they do! David is so talented! I saw a video of him singing the National Anthem in a basketball game in Utah and he was AMAZING!!!

thrasher | 10/10/2008, 12:40 pm EST

Hey Sandra, how about just waiting until Archie’s performance gets posted on You Tube and watch it there. How pathetic are you to watch a baseball game just to watch him sing God Bless America. Are you kidding? You must be in your early teen years, and if not, then your mentality is in that age range.

shelly | 10/10/2008, 2:20 pm EST

thrasher, I respectfully disagree. There are a lot of hardcore Archie fans watching tonight, just to hear him sing, me included. Will we be paying careful attention to the game? Probably not. There were people all over the world tuning in to hear him sing the National Anthem for the Utah Jazz game. Heck, some people bought tickets for the game just to see him sing.

Gabriel | 10/10/2008, 2:23 pm EST

Hey, what if she wants to watch the game just to see him singin live, it doesn’t matter. Archie rockz

David singing God Bless America will be awesome. We could use some of that joy that radiates thru David when he sings, as the economy is scary right now. Come on David and lift our spirits with that soulful voice.

Thank you for letting David DO HIS THANG.

Just watched this performance by David Archuleta on you tube to see what the buzz was about. WOAH… This guy can sing with a capital S. Not a teen, nor a young adult, but count me in as one who finds him awesome.

Archuleta_Acappella = AMAZING | 10/13/2008, 8:56 pm EST

DUDE. CAN. BLOW. With or without music, his vocals are second to none. And he’s 17? Incredible.
