Beyoncé’s “If I Were A Boy,” the first of two singles leading up to her still-untitled new album, made its debut this morning on New York radio station Z100. “If I were a boy, I think I could understand,” Knowles sings in the chorus. “How it feels to love a girl, I swear I’d be a better man.” Fan reaction on the Z100 site has been mostly positive. Listen for yourself here. Expect to hear the risk-taking new album’s other single “Single Ladies” in the near future.

I would appreciate this song more if it hadn’t been taken from the original artist, BC Jean, without her permission! BC Jean’s co-writer sold it to Beyonce’s manager. Her version is still pretty good and more rock sounding. Go find it on Youtube.
