Kid Rock Goes Digital: Full Albums Now Available on Rhapsody

Kid Rock has issued a temporary ceasefire in his war against digital music services: the Detroit rocker has signed an exclusive deal with Rhapsody. Starting today, Kid’s entire discography will be available for both streaming and downloading at both Rhapsody and their MP3 store. Rock, along with the Beatles and AC/DC, is one of the last artists not to allow his music onto iTunes. So why did Rock lay down his arms? Unlike iTunes and Amazon, who both offer a la carte song purchases, Rhapsody will only sell Rock’s albums in their entirety, keeping with the Rock N’ Roll Jesus’ adage that he makes albums, not songs. Plus, “[iTunes is] an old system, where iTunes takes the money, the record company takes the money, and they don’t give it to the artists,” Rock said back in June. The deal lasts four months, after which time Kid may sell his tunes on other digital-music services. As it happens Rolling Stone and Rhapsody are partners (full disclosure!), which means you can get your Kid Rock music right here.

A “complete” discography would have “The Polyfuse Method”. Where’s my “Trippin’ with Dick Vitale”, ass-suckers?

Why on earth would anyone want to buy an entire Kid Rock album? This guy is the Paris Hilton of music- he’s got a recognizable name but absolutely nothing special. He almost single-handedly ruined Sheryl Crow for all time with his brief collaboration with her- what was that- “Pitcher?”…

All of you who feel the need to bag Kid Rock…go back to fryer at McDonalds and save your money to move out of your parents house!!! He wipes his @ss with your yearly salary

NNTN | 10/6/2008, 6:23 pm EST

$9.99 for lossy MP3s and you can’t buy individual tracks? That’s not news.

I could buy the CD used, rip it to FLAC, and resell it for a lot less…

…not that I would bother for Kid Rock.

The Beatles, AC/DC, Kid Rock. Who would’ve thought those 3 would be lumped together under one list….any list for that matter. Kid Rock is a scumbag. Thank you for destroying “sweet home alabama” and “werewolves of london”.

I love how all these kids don’t like artists they conceive as “old” (been around 10 years or more - woohoo)! So your current fave artist will one day be “old”, too…but oh - I forgot - you won’t care ’cause you have no loyalty. You are one of the sheeple that only likes what you are told to like by those you deem to be “hip”…well, I for one, will make my own decisions, thank you very much. Sigh…

at least he finally came to an understanding with how various folks, younger, etc., find music nowadays.. I’m sure when cassettes first became prolific you had people wondering what the bootleg possibilities were, compared to vinyl LPs and 45’s.. Now if only the Beatles estates and ACDC will finally get on board somewhere.. already, filesharing is distracting from proper sales whether they’re onboard or not.. they can at least make “some” money from the legal download market..

Kid Rock is hated on so much as a poster boy of bad music. I am indifferent to his style of music; like many popular artists that have been around for 10 years or so, he has some good songs and some bad ones. But I am thinking he probably can’t hear all that criticism with the rustling of his crisp $100 bills surrounding him in his money bed. And isn’t it the goal to sell your music? To make money off of it? Sell out arenas? Sell out racks of your CD’s and albums? So much jealousy. Sellout is the dumbest insult of a musician I have ever heard. And it’s usually leveled at artists by middle-class kids who are upset that their allowance might actually have to go to “buy music” instead of them downloading it for free willy-nilly. WOCKA WOCKA WOCKA!!!

He is a fake ass… and every time I here the song “all Summer night long” I wanna puke! He is a complete sellout. Maybe he change his music style one more time. D bag…!

Who-hoo! Kid Rock joins the 90s! Maybe in ten years he’ll join the new millenium

mikeky | 10/3/2008, 1:23 pm EST

because ‘cowboy’ or ‘american bad ass’ only sound correct in their original track order. their impact on society is only enhanced when they are placed in the correct tracklisting. then can they truly be understood as they were conceived. otherwise? CHAOS AND DISORDER!! ANARCHY!!

what a retard kid rock is.

Harold Peratesties | 10/3/2008, 1:13 pm EST

His songs are complete rip offs of previous music. So Kid Rock just picks and chooses when to have a conscience?
