With the presidential election only a month way, Bruce Springsteen is taking his support of Barack Obama to the swing states with three more shows benefiting the Democrat. First, Springsteen will travel to Philadelphia for an acoustic set at an open-air rally this Saturday, October 4th. Springsteen will then head to Columbus, Ohio to play the Ohio State University campus on Sunday, the 5th. Bruce will then conclude his odyssey through the purple states on Monday, October 6th, with a performance at Eastern Michigan University. Tickets for all three concerts can be had by visiting either Campaign for Change offices in the respective areas or heading over to Obama’s website. Like Jay-Z’s Obama-inspired concerts this weekend in Detroit and Miami, the shows are a reminder to potential voters that the voter registration deadline is October 6th. In addition to this weekend’s performances, as previously announced, Springsteen will join Billy Joel at an Obama benefit concert at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom on October 16th.

Bruce! Bruce! Bruce!

Vote! Vote! Vote!

This is soooo great! I ALWAYS choose my political leaders based on who has the most rock stars in their camp. Rock stars are just frickin’ GENIUSES when it comes to governing and executive administration. Thank God I can just blindly follow the trend setters’ advice and not have to look into candidates and issues on my own!

Denton, you must be talking about all the “Old Boys Club” experience McCain has. Yeah, we need a geriatric, trigger-happy warmonger in the Oval Office.

McCain certainly has experience as a shitty pilot, a bad soldier, a hot-headed misogynist, a liar, a flip-flopper, a scary NeoCon, a rich kid who rose through the ranks thanks to nepotism…etc.

Oh, and I won’t even touch on the vast experience of McCain’s running mate. You’ll see for yourself in tonight’s debate just how “experienced” she is. That is, if you watch it.

Thank GOD celebrities are here to tell me, the dumb “regular” american voter, who to vote for. With all their experience they really know what’s right for me and the country. It worked sooo well in 2004.

Who.... | 10/2/2008, 9:20 pm EST

did “celebrities” tell us to vote for in ‘04? It sure wasn’t the douchebag oxygen thief agent of Satan that’s there now. Unless you count Three Doors Down as a celebrity.

The truth is that Bruce Springsteen is more in touch (and ALWAYS has been)with the pulse of the average Americans who are often struggling to make ends meet.

Not to mention Bruce has gained more “foreign policy experience” this past year alone than Sarah Palin will in her entire lifetime.

When did musicians get bundled into the same boat as movie and television folk? As far as I can recall, singers and songwriters have been speaking up about politics in this country since at least Francis Scott Key’s time in the sun (or dark, as the case may be)!

I don’t care who delivers the truth, as long as it sheds some light.

Bruce is “in touch” with the average American? Are you fukin kidding me..Bruce doesn’t have a clue what average Americans go through now..stop sucking springsteens dick A-Rock8..

Denton you ingnorant moron, I don’t care if Bruce votes for Obama or doesn’t vote Obama. Your musical taste, most of the time, reflect your political views. So Denton scroll down to Kenny Chesney on your IPOD and start two-steppin’ YAHOOOOO!!!

Jungleland2 | 10/3/2008, 11:12 am EST

Love Bruce, Billy, REM, Steve Earle, Mellencamp… still think they are wrong on politics. Libertarian party is where they should be…Bob Barr in 08

I’ve been a Springsteen fan my whole life, but I’ve never realized how stupid he is until now… Bruce, Barack is a liar and obviously unqualified for the job, just ask Mr. Biden, he agrees with me. And I can’t believe you’re falling for the “McCain is more of the same” line, what a letdown! Stick to music Bruce!

4for88 | 1/28/2009, 6:17 pm EST

Bruce Springsteen is a douchebag.
Bruce-do me a favor:

What the does he know about struggling day-to-day and getting along on the cheeks of your ass just to make it to the next day?

NOTHING!!!

You are a multi-millionaire Bruce so SHUT THE HELL UP about how bad off we honest working people really are!!!
