One day after Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen revealed a joint NYC show in support of Barack Obama, Jay-Z announced that he would perform at a pair of free concerts this weekend in the hope of strengthening voter registration and support for Obama. The first of the “Operation Registration” concerts will take place this Friday, October 4th, at Detroit’s Cobo Arena. Tickets for the event will only available through the area’s Campaign for Change offices starting today at 3 PM. Obama’s website also revealed that Jay-Z will play a similar event on Sunday, October 6th at a venue in Miami. Tickets for that show become available at campaign offices tomorrow at 10 AM. October 6th is the deadline to register and vote in both swing states.
