Even though U2 are still hard at work on an album, Bono spent the week on altruism. He split time between visiting the United Nations General Assembly and hanging with Al Gore at the annual Clinton Global Initiative. It was a great week for team-ups, in fact: Neil Young, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews got together for Farm Aid and 50 Cent threw down with OGs Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. Click below for these and the rest of the week’s biggest stories in photos.

15 years and anly 14 songs ? | 11/17/2008, 4:50 am EST

First of all if it took Mr.Rose 15 years to complete this album, it damn better be a masterpiece of epic proportion. You would think in 15 years Axl could have released a triple album or a whole boxed set of new material, I guess time will tell if this new album delivers.

Look. The new album does NOT suck. It is just not the same as appettite. Everyone is so freightened because there is nothing that sounds like Nightrain or Welcome to the Jungle. It is different, what did you expect? It is something that we have never heard, therefore I respect the album completely. Its also some of the most experimental guitar I have heard this year, between Buckethead and Bumblefoot, I think the album paid its dues. The 80’s was the 80’s, grow a ballsac and respect the creativey you lame fucks
