cornell with timbaland. never thought cornell would sell out like that. why why why? as for Cook , he is super talented and he will be all on his own in time and will be a huge success!!!!!!!!

I agree with pearljelly. We need to give Chris a chance. He seems to try something new with each solo album he releases. I personally would like Chris to release an album entirely on acoustic guitar. Maybe the majority are not interested but I am. I am reminded how amazing his voice is every time he performs one of his songs live with just an acoustic guitar. It blows me away every time.
People tend to forget the brilliant “Euphoria Mourning” was a commercial flop. I am still baffled to this day why that is. I love this record to death. Speaking of EM…that, Superunknown and Cruel Melody (Black Light Burns) are in heavy rotation on my CD player. :D
I did listen to David Cook’s new song. Personally, I’d rather Chris keep the songs he writes to himself so I can hear him sing it. No offense to David Cook.

Give Cornell a chance…he’s just experimenting…all of the greats have done it…Neil Young, The Beatles…he’ll come back to what’s payed the bills after this fails.

agreed with Kims dealer. This is really bad!!! Especially for people that use to listen to Soungarden back in the day. The sounds are blah. The first solo album he came out with was really good. What the hell?

The new Cornell material is horrific. Its so bad. It makes me want to lock myself in my room and listen to Ultramega OK and Down On The Upside and pretend this Timbaland s**t never happened. He could be doing so many cool things within the independant music scene. Even an album with Danger Mouse would be okay. Please Chris. Before its too late.

Chris Cornell with Timberland? what?

Very disappointing.

Daughtry, as much as I like him, is hardly original. Cut David Cook a break. Give him a couple of years removed from American Idol and we’ll see where he ends up.

Cook has had a hand in writing just about every other song that will find its way on his album. I think they believed the fact that Cornell would hook up with Cook would give his first single a little more cred in the rock scene. Let’s let the CD come out before we judge ey?

musikizmylife | 9/23/2008, 10:35 pm EST

I’m disappointed. David Cook has done nothing different than what he did week after week on American Idol - cover someone else’s song. This song has Chris Cornell’s stamp all over it… nothing new or original from Cook at all is in this song. If you listen closely, this song songs like a mix of Soundgarden’s Black Hole Sun and Daughtry and Nickelback thrown in for good measure… Why not just title the song Cook sings Chris Cornell… Again… Was expecting something more from him…
