Don’t kid yourself. Comfortably Numb IS the best floyd song. The guitar and lyrics flow so well and evoke such emotion. It touches so many people in so many ways. The guitar solos have been voted the best solos ever by Guitar Magazine.

“Comfortably Numb” is a anthum for pink floyd lovers its not only the guitar its all about “Numb” feelings which no other song can give….

And I can’t believe Summer of ‘68 is on that list.

Shine On should be #1… it is the perfect Pink Floyd song, with huge contributions from each of the band members, and lyrically it pays homage to Syd.

Echoes should be #2. After that, you can make a good case for many songs, but it’s strange that neither Hey You or One of These Days made the list.

Ashley | 10/14/2008, 10:56 pm EST

I really wished Atom Heart Mother would be on this list, but good songs over all

nick | 10/7/2008, 6:49 pm EST

I think Echoes should be number one. But how could Hey You not make the list?

Fat Old Sun from the album More is wonderfully evocative. Trouble is, Pink Floyd have made 100 great tracks and no-one will ever agree on the best 10. I wouldn’t have more than 3 or 4 of those chosen - and I go back to the very beginning, having seen Floyd play small gigs in London in the 1960’s.

funk | 9/23/2008, 4:49 pm EST

what about one of these days it has the best floyd lyric ever

JB | 9/23/2008, 11:44 am EST

rolling stone readers apparently aren’t to fond of Syd Barretts’s contributions to the band….only one song from the guy??? cmon we can do better than that……by the way i really despise how pink floyd has become such a “commercial” and “popular” band to like….its amazing how often when you hear any music that is somewhat strange/pyschedelic/or free flowing some ass will chime in with WOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE PINK FLOYD..IGNORANT ASSES

If you need to remind yourself why Comfortably Numb is on top, go back and listen to the guitar solo after the first chorus. Sublime.

That said, I’m disappointed Sheep isn’t in the top ten.

DAVID | 9/22/2008, 7:04 pm EST

omg no interstellar overdrive? WTF?

Cynic | 9/22/2008, 6:45 pm EST

“Comfortably Numb” is definitely not the best Pink Floyd song of all time, just maybe the most overplayed.
