Jenny Lewis has had an unlikely career, transitioning smoothly from child star to alt-country sex symbol. Her new album Acid Tongue contains elements of country, pop, soul, R&B and even a bit of hip-hop, and her choice of songwriting places is as eclectic as her taste. “[I write] in line at the post office, convenience stores, stuck in traffic,” says Lewis. “I write a lot in public restrooms because the acoustics are great. ‘Happy,’ from my last album, I wrote in a bathroom. I’ve talked about installing a proper bathroom in the house, with a urinal and stalls.” Click below for more on Lewis, including what happened during her first and only acid trip.
