Key Tracks: Metallica, Ne-Yo, Tricky

Metallica, “All Nightmare Long”
Combining the riffs of their Eighties classics with the hooks of their Nineties hits, it may be the perfect Metallica song.

Ne-Yo, “Miss Independent”
The synths are choppy, but Ne-Yo navigates his upper register with a smoothness befitting the jam’s pickup lines.
[Review]

Tricky, “Council Estate”
Over rapid-fire drums and Gnarls-y bass, Tricky raps, “Remember, boy, you’re a superstar.” This comeback track proves him right.
[Review]

Benji Hughes, “All You’ve Got to Do Is Fall in Love”
North Carolina Casanova argues that he’s an easy lover. And with his velvety, George Harrison-style croon, he’s convincing.

Hell yeah! “All Nightmare Long” is a great song, but my favorite song on the album is “That Was Just Your Life”. Death Magnetic rocks, Metallica rules! (can’t wait till they come to NY)
