This week’s bizarre collision of talk TV and rock & roll comes to us from Australia, where Sonic Youth visited a morning show hosted by a woman who looks like a methed-up Gwen Stefani on a set that might have been vomited by Timothy Leary. Watching Thurston Moore try to explain “No Wave” and nonchalantly talk about the rap videos that have been shot in the alley behind their apartment is pretty surreal, but it’s mostly fun to watch the drably-dressed Youth juxtaposed with that leopard print desk.
