Kaki King spent quality time with the Foo Fighters while on tour with them in Australia (she also played on the band’s last record Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace), which gave her particular insight into Dave Grohl’s cheesy rock moves. While conversing with RollingStone.com’s Pete Maiden at the Outside Lands festival this weekend, she broke down the three moves you’ll see at every Foo Fighters show. Click above for her breakdowns of the moves, plus her animated examples and a few clips of Grohl in action.

Umm, Dave Grohl and Kaki King are good friends. She appeared on “Echoes…” doing the Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners.” She also toured with them. She’s just joking around. oh, and Mentally retarded is an adjective, not a noun, bobonze. Before you insult someone else’s intelligence, proofread your comment.

What made her an expert? How about virtuosity, experience, and musicality. Dave Grohl is a base line performer. Kaki King is an original and sophisticated musician. What would John Coltrane say about Kenny G? What would Buddy Rich say about Peter Criss? What would Wes Montgomery say about Dave Grohl? He would probably question the merit of “a show” compared to a performance. There is no substitute for hard work, experience, and talent. Many who pay their dues are dismayed when their mediocre contemporaries get all the accolades.

For any of you that are just bashing Kaki King, look her up on youtube, itunes, etc. She is an amazing guitarist and can do things on the guitar that you all probably only dream of. It also doesn’t hurt that she has put out at least 3 instrumental guitar albums.
By the way she is 29, not in high school. So, I’m pretty sure she knows who the FF are and that Kurt Cobain blew his brains out (I know that Kurt Cobain “blew his brains out” and I just turned 21).
My point is this:
Do your research before you bash an artist. At then you can object to their music, their person, etc.

I can only say what a waste of bandwidth and my time. Idiotic, not funny or entertaining; not even worthy of youtube.
RollingStone, get a clue.

I have to agree with @bobonze on this one. If she’s saying that playing up the audience or having a good old fashioned blues jam or haming up the end of a song is bad then she obviously doesn’t understand the idea behind rock & roll. It’s to have fun and get the audience involved.
If she had a guitar and thousands of fans screaming at her I think she would do the same.

So who exactly is this Kaki King?
And is she truly mentally retarted or just pretending to be one. What made her some kind of expert on the Foo Fighters or Dave Grohl? Was she even born when FF formed as a band or Kurt Cobain blew his brains out?
Maybe someday she will grow up, graduate high school. Until then, she should only be allowed to intern for her own personal YouTube or Facebook Account (please tell me she is not actually a paid employee at Rolling Stone.)
Thanks to her, I’m now considering regarding all Rolling Stone newsletters as Spam/Junk.
