Talk Show Flashback: Canadian Phenom Takes On Slipknot

For those not in the know, Narduwar is a Canadian national treasure, a wacky, cap-wearing tele-journalist who accosts rock stars with nonsensical questions and childlike whimsy. Think of him as a less political Borat. In this clip, he interviews Shawn Crahan from Slipknot (who he keeps addressing as “Shawn Number Six Clown of Slipknot”) about his mask, Vanilla Ice and pleasuring groupies with lobsters. It’s not exactly a talk show, but it’s too charming (and too Canadian) not to run here.

Nardwuar has tons of good interviews. Sebastian Bach of Skid Row and Blur interviews turned downright hostile. Entertaining stuff.

His best interview by far is with Pharrell of the NERD. Totally blows him away with some trivia and diligent background research. So much so that a couple of weeks ago Jay-Z did an interview with Nardwuar solely because of Pharrell’s recommendation.

Nardwuar doesn’t wear a TOQUE, he wears a flat cap. And this is FAR from his best interview
