
- Lil Jon has signed with digital distribution company The Orchard after dropping his lawsuit against his old label, the defunct TVT Records. The Crunk King gets the rights to his long-awaited Crunk Rock, while the Orchard will distribute his back catalog. Lil Jon will also perform A&R duties.
- Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler will pen an autobiography for HarperCollins imprint Ecco. Tyler’s book will be a “personal comeback story” about his career.
- Dr. Dre will market his upcoming Detox with a line of alcoholic products. Dre will introduce both his Aftermath Cognac and a series of sparkling vodkas.
- Morrissey’s new album Years of Refusal has been pushed back from September to early 2009. No reason was given for the shift, but the album’s producer, Jerry Winn, suffered a brain hemorrhage last month and remains hospitalized.
