Iggy & the Stooges have fallen victim to one of rock’s ongoing epidemics as a truck full of the band’s equipment was stolen in Montreal. The theft went down between the hours of 6:30 and 7:30 am yesterday, as the band’s yellow Penske truck was carjacked while parked outside the Stooges’ hotel. The band has set up a Website that lists the items stolen (including pictures of some of the more recognizable items, like some vintage guitars) in an effort to reclaim the missing gear. Anyone with information about the theft is also encouraged to contact the band at a number listed at the site. So Montreal pawn shop owners: be on the lookout for Mike Watt’s bass, a Red Gibson 1963 EB-3.
