I was an early fan of Dire Straits but lost track of Mark Knopler when the band broke up. I recall seeing seeing or hearing bits and pieces of his work but didn’t rehook up with the man until I discovered iTunes. Thanks goodness I did!
The sample of Knopler’s “Boom, Like That” caught my attention. I had to listen to it about 20+ times before I put two and two together, but when I did I was blown away. The song is the perfect example of an artist forcing a listener to think through his/her work. Amazing stuff!
Now I’m lost in “Cleaning My Gun”. I can recite the lyricss but am clueless to what the story is about?
Love it!
