Readers’ Rock List: Best Sibling Bands

7/28/08, 5:33 pm EST

Last week, in honor of the Jonas Brothers on the cover of the current issue, Rock Daily asked the readers for their favorite bands that include siblings. The Kinks ended up as the top vote getters, which should smooth things over between brothers Ray and Dave Davies. Other popular choices included Van Halen (brothers Alex and Eddie), Heart (Nancy and Ann Wilson) and Radiohead (Jonny and Colin Greenwood). Click below for the gallery of the winners.

There are NO other “siblings” bands that are in the same ballpark as the Kinks. Ray Davies is a modern-day William Shakespeare. He speaks to the human condition more in one song than most artists have in they’re entire careers. Of course they’ve never been on the cover of Rolling Stone…

The kinks brothers had alot of friction but also some the best rock n roll songs in the history of rock….right up there with the Stones and Beatles the Kinks were never on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine and still they carry on with great music.
