Guns n’ Roses’ Adler Arrested on Drug Charges, Stradlin Releases Album

7/18/08, 2:21 pm EST

A pair of former Guns n’ Roses members made news today for completely different reasons. Guitarist Izzy Stradlin released his new solo album Concrete to iTunes. The 10-track album features Izzy’s former Gn’R bandmate and current Velvet Revolver member Duff McKagan on the title track. On the flip side, Roses’ drummer Steven Adler was arrested early this morning for possession of narcotics, being under the influence and having an outstanding warrant. Adler was arrested at 4 AM this morning after police received a call about a man creating a disturbance. The drummer was jailed on $45,000 bail. Adler, ironically enough, recently completed filming the second season of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, and was reportedly planning to star in a spin-off show called Sober Living. That show would have required Adler to live in a house with other recovering addicts as they attempted to resurrect their careers without drugs or alcohol. The second season of Celebrity Rehab won’t air until October, so maybe we should have prefaced this post with “Spoiler Alert.”

Two words, Axl, and that is cash money…..this reunion will blow all others out of the water in terms of impact, and the fact they’ll have a new album to tour behind will give it more validity….Finck wont play the whole tour, just select dates….its ok, you heard it here first. when it happens, you dont have to thank me. I just know that the truckloads of money they have signed for will dwarf what they gave STP. The band members have been retracking the new GNR material.

the guy who said GNR is touring with Slash, Axly, Matt, and Duff with Robin Finck tentatively scheduled is off his rocker…Finck just jumped ship to go back to Nine Inch Nails, and why the hell would the other GNR guys join Axl to tour an album he’s been making without them for the past 13 years??? What’s been heard from the album so far sounds like garbage, Axl missed the industrial boat by like 10 years, the band sucks, a couple of the songs sound like throwaways from Use Your Illusion at best, and if anything Axl’s only shot at anything entertaining anymore would be a reality show called, “Axl is Schizo and Running Around Hollywood Looking for Botox and Hair Extensions.” I’d watch that for 3 minutes, which is about the same amount of time that people will care about “GNR” for when his crappy Japanese Republican album finally comes out, if it ever does.

Sad for Adler, that stuff is serious. Good for Izzy, he’s a good musician. And I read the comment about Axl reuniting the rest of the band, and that isn’t happening. You’d have a better chance winning the lottery than that. And thats IF the album comes out.

I have it on good authority... | 7/18/2008, 6:49 pm EST

…that Matt Sorum was tapped for the GNR reunion, so this doesn’t derail any of those plans. Adler was like the Jeff Conaway of rock anyway, he was completely broken down. Sober Living’s lineup included him and Shifty Shellshock.

Good for Izzy, he is following his muse.

GNR will be Slash, Axl, Matt, and Duff touring behind Chinese Democracy Robin Finck is tentatively scheduled too
