Further proof that the Saw movies have made way too much money: Darren Lynn Bousman, the director of the three Saw sequels, will attempt to resurrect the rock opera genre on film with Repo! The Genetic Opera. The teaser first appeared on Spike TV late last year, but the trailer above stacks madness upon more madness. The film, based on a live show from the same creators that ran in 2002, takes place in a not-too-distant future where organ loans are big business. The bananas cast features Alexa Vega, Sarah Brightman, Anthony Stewart Head (Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Paris Hilton and Paul Sorvino. The music seems pretty loud and crazy, but it mostly makes Rock Daily excited for the fact that it may resurrect the ouevre of Skinny Puppy, as the flick also stars singer Nivek Ogre and owes a great deal of visual reference to that band’s clip for “Spasmolytic” (which you can check out after the jump).
