One of our favorite films from this year’s Sundance Festival, Anvil! The Story of Anvil!, won the audience documentary prize at the Los Angeles Film Festival this past weekend. The doc, directed by Sacha Gervasi, tells the Spinal Tap-esque story of Canadian heavy metal band Anvil and their pursuit for fame after 27 years. Our cameras caught the band performing live with Slash and Anthrax’s Scott Ian at Sundance. Taking home the top audience award from the LAFF was coming-of-age film The Wackness, the story of a teenager and his wild summer in New York City in 1994.
