News Ticker: Rock the Vote, Madonna, Stevie Wonder

  • Rock the Vote and MySpace are launching a contest called DemROCKracy. Bands are encouraged to get their fans to register to the vote, with the group registering the most voters getting the grand prize of playing Rock the Vote’s Ballot Bash before the Democratic National Convention on August 25th.
  • Panic at the Disco and rapper Snoop Dogg are planning to collaborate together in the studio soon. The pair met when they performed “Gin & Juice” together during a concert in Germany.
  • Madonna’s childhood home in the Detroit suburb of Rochester Hills burned down in a suspected arson. The house was unoccupied when it was destroyed.
  • Barack Obama’s favorite singer Stevie Wonder is working on his first all-gospel album, titled The Gospel According to Lula. The album is a tribute to Wonder’s late mother.

Not only has Madonna’s childhood home gone up in flames, but also soon her marriage and even her musical career will be going up in smoke too.

I doubt anyone would register to vote just because I asked them to. I think people who don’t REALLY want to vote (based on their own convictions, not to be sheep) should not vote. Plus I would have to INSIST that they vote libertarian..then I would have to explain why…and that would use up my entire day (or more)
