
- For the first time in 32 years, Capitol Records has the top two songs on the Hot 100 Singles Chart, as Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” and Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” grabbed 1-2.
- Nashville punks Be Your Own Pet have left their slot on the Warped tour, saying “We have been going non-stop for the past 6 months and didn’t realize how much the intense schedule would take out of us. Something had to give.”
- Ex-Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland’s new band Black Light Burns will drop a covers album dubbed Cover Your Heart on August 8th. Among the artists covered are the Jesus Lizard, Duran Duran and PJ Harvey.
- Having been released from child-porn charges, R. Kelly is now releasing a new song, “Playas Get Lonely.” The song will appear on Kelly’s next album 12 Play: Four Quarter.
