Boy George Cancels U.S. Tour After Visa Snag

6/24/08, 10:53 am EST

Boy George was forced to cancel his U.S. summer tour — his first trek here in over a decade — after failing to secure permission to enter the States. George faces trial in November for charges filed against the Culture Club singer dating back to April of 2007 when an escort accused the Karma Chameleon of holding him against his will, and thus U.S. authorities have denied his visa, even thought British authorities permitted George to travel anywhere after paying his unconditional bail. George is especially disappointed he’ll be unable to perform for employees of New York’s Department of Sanitation on August 17th, saying he planned the concert “as a way to thank the DSNY and the workers’ families for the kindness shown to him during his community service with them in 2006.” Click the jump for the canceled dates.

Beilieve it or not, it’s a shame Boy George was forced to cancel concert dates. To You all who don’t like Boy George don’t give us your opinion please. If you do like him, you will believe the same, (the trial is in the U.K, not USA, whats the big deal America, American law is a crap). America you have a bunch of singers doing cocaine on stage, fucking around on stage and you do nothing…don’t be so wanker on Boy George.

I doubt it Beth - every queen you meet these days is into Madonna. Boy Geoirge lost his credibility years ago.

Not a big loss considering that his once smooth-as-silk voice sounds like sandpaper now after years of smoking and drugs. Who wants to hear him massacre his hits?
