Metallica Title New Album “Death Magnetic”

6/16/08, 9:15 am EST

The name of the new Metallica album has finally been revealed on the band’s official website: Death Magnetic. The album’s title had slowly been hinted throughout last week, first simply with two magnets before additional letters began appearing. All was finally revealed Saturday, as the suddenly-tech-savvy band confirmed the title in the form of wallpapers you can put as the background of your computer. The group’s Mission Metallica site confirmed the title as well, promising their new Rick Rubin-produced album will be out in September.

really? Death Magnet? this is the best metallica could come up with? i’ll wait to judge and let the music speak for itself, but can’t say the title gets me pumped

Joker77 | 6/16/2008, 10:59 am EST

Sounds lame, but what else would you expect after St. Anger. These are titles a 6th grader would think are cool. Wow, can’t wait to NOT buy this album either.

JackBurton | 6/16/2008, 11:04 am EST

What do you know? People trashing Metallica… that’s original.

Lorne | 6/16/2008, 11:20 am EST

It does sound abit industrial.

Lars Should Retire | 6/16/2008, 11:22 am EST

Does anyone listen to anything this band has recorded since 1984? What’s next, a cover version of Elton John?

Talha | 6/16/2008, 11:51 am EST

Does anyone realize that despite all the piss-taking, Metallica are still one of the great metal bands alive? Yes, St Anger was unforgiveable, but it would be wrong to write off Load and Re-Load, as both contained some good songs. So sue me. And take your 24-year-old anger about Metallica not re-making Kill’em All again and again somewhere else.

FREEZE | 6/16/2008, 11:59 am EST

GIVE ME ONE BAND THAT EVERY ALBUM EVER DONE WAS PHENOMINAL?? METALLICA HAS AND WILL BE FOR DECADES ONE OF THE “GREATEST METAL BANDS” OF ALL TIME.YOUR ALOUD TOO HAVE 1 FLOP JUST DON’T LET THIS ONE FOLLOW IN LINE BOYS!!!

>. | 6/16/2008, 12:15 pm EST

guys stop trashing metallica for an album they fucked up, if you paid attention to the rest of the previews you’d be idolizing them all over again, and if you have, don’t keep bitching because you got your hopes up for St. Anger, its gonna be the best album of 2008 and you know it

fawking Mu-tal-i-ka | 6/16/2008, 12:18 pm EST

EET FUK | 6/16/2008, 12:28 pm EST

METALLICA UP YOUR FUCKING ASS!

ZOSO | 6/16/2008, 12:29 pm EST

Yeah I completely agree with alot of people here. Metallica is one of the greatest metal band of all time. You can’t take St. Anger and say that that is all you can expect out of Metallica. I think this new album is very promising. Listening to the snippets of songs, I think it will be great.

four horsemen | 6/16/2008, 12:50 pm EST

“Does anyone listen to anything this band has recorded since 1984? What’s next, a cover version of Elton John?”

yes – their best album, and one of the best metal albums ever, Master of Puppets (1986)

mot | 6/16/2008, 1:08 pm EST

Choj…not that it really matters, but it’s Death Magnetic. It doesn’t make it a better title, just makes you an ignorant reader

Steve | 6/16/2008, 1:23 pm EST

They should have titled it ‘Chinese Democracy’.

I give you TOOL

forget about it. | 6/16/2008, 2:20 pm EST

Circa 1988 – picture from first garage days session, with Lars holding a guitar as well. On Hetfield’s headstock a note: Kill Bon Jovi.
Black Album: Hetfield says they’re picking the director of Bon Jovi videos for their next concert-arena-video, because: we like how he did those cool Bon Jovi videos.
Load, Re-Load, St. Anger: Crap and more crap. This band was ONCE great, then Cliff died, Lars took over all aspects of the band (he wanted uniforms in the beginning, Clif said NO, see SOME KIND OF MONSTER for more proof of this) and now you’ve got this caricature of a band releasing another crappy record. They’re total has-beens and total sell-outs. Give it up now!

ChefNick | 6/16/2008, 3:00 pm EST

The Beatles. Every album. Great. Led Zeppelin. Every album, great.

Dude | 6/16/2008, 3:09 pm EST

I was hoping for “Meet the Beatles”

SLAPPYSLIM | 6/16/2008, 4:25 pm EST

Every TOOL album “phenomenal” How about insufferably dense, meandering, pretentious…..

Love it or hate it, “St. Anger” sure as hell lived up to its title. One of the harshest, most dissonant and abrasive records I’ve heard in recent years. And a damn sight better than “Load” and “Re-Load” IMO.

And to “forget about it” try an original thought some day. Boy Metallica really does suck because they outgrew the childish need to write things like “Kill Bon Jovi” on their guitars. I bet you still get your knickers in a twist about “posers” and “false metal”. Please……

why are there so many morons on the internet?

lerxstlady | 6/16/2008, 5:21 pm EST

Reading the article RS has up where they’re discussing the new album, they talk about how Rick Rubin has them sort of reaching back to their “Master of Puppets”/”…and Justice for All” days, and bringing kind of the core of that into who they are today. To me, it sounds a lot like what Nick Razkulenitz (sp?) did with Rush for “Snakes & Arrows” which has been one of their best albums in YEARS. If what I’m getting from the article is right, then this one might actually be worth checking out. I haven’t liked anything they’ve done since the Black Album, but I’m willing to give the new one a listen since it sounds like they’re bringing back stuff like solos and musical complexity. I just hope it lives up to the expectations I get from the article :D

Jareth Cutestory | 6/16/2008, 7:03 pm EST

It is kind of a lame title. I’m not righting off the album though. I think Trujillo really changes things and helps them get back to their roots. I think the last 3 albums had some good songs but a lot of junk. I disregard any of them completely.

Jareth Cutestory | 6/16/2008, 7:06 pm EST

It is kind of a lame title. I’m not writing off the album though. I think Trujillo really changes things and helps them get back to their roots. The last 3 albums all had some songs that I like but a lot of junk. I don’t disregard any of them completely.

hets | 6/16/2008, 8:33 pm EST

They have been making music for so many years, not every album is going to be GREAT! St. Anger was disappointing, but as a Metallica fan, I would back any album they make, good or bad! Enough of the hate, open your minds! By the way, when was the last good Bon Jovi record? 1984?

H | 6/16/2008, 11:47 pm EST

I love how people pigeon-hole bands into only doing one type of music and never letting the bands try out new stuff to stretch their creative horizons. I mean, damn, if it weren’t for trying new things, you wrist-slitters wouldn’t have EMO. There would be no punk, and heavy metal would definately never have been if bands like Sabbath, Deep Purple, Zepplin wouldn’t have pushed the boundries.

Guitar Riff | 6/17/2008, 12:10 am EST

Original music or not I really just want them to start giving us intros to songs. The 1 thing I always liked and made there songs feel bigger then life was that heavy fast creative intro they would create, that would lead into James singing. The problem with the last 3 albums was that James starts singing on the tracks to quick into them. I like when they give it that feel of a journey, thats why the old stuff feels better. I liked the last 3 albums but im hoping Rick Rubin brings that back from whats missing from MOP and AJFA.

me | 6/17/2008, 12:41 am EST

yup

indy | 6/17/2008, 11:10 am EST

I will never get much of their fan base . . . who want the same CD over and over. If you want that, listen to ACDC. Metallica has grown and changed (like most even partially intelligent folks do) and they have always done what they wanted, which makes them great. Most of their records have taken a while to get into . . . which is good. They are challenging. I think St. Anger is great and I hated it at first.
But I am not the black tshirt mullet wearing doofus I was when AJFA came out (I was a jr in high school). I am glad they are not the same drinking doofus’ they were back then either. Change is good, even when it is not.
I am okay with them trying to go back if that is what is in their heart. But if it is to appease the ‘kill bob rock’ crowd it will fail

just | 6/18/2008, 1:20 am EST

awful………they should have been put out to pasture with the other hair bands like Hanoi Rocks and Winger………they have done nothing for 10 years……..this will not help either…

big lenny | 6/18/2008, 7:07 am EST

metallica is the best metal band!
deatch magnetic sounds like master of puppets kill em all and so on.but metallica com says theres a ballade like nothing else metters or fade to black !!

Name is okay | 6/18/2008, 2:52 pm EST

I’m actually a little worried about them going back to their “old school” style. As much as I love RtL through AFja, I also love TBA, Load, and Reload. St. Anger was a disappointment, but I would rather they keep trying new things than just suffocate themselves by doing the same stuff over and over like Slayer. And St. Anger was still a damn sight better than Kill ‘Em All.

Dayne Pennington | 6/18/2008, 8:10 pm EST

Hay Man Look Im 15 I Play Metallica Songs In My Band..Ive Got All There Albums Ive Heard All! There Songs That Includes E.p’s Ive Got Merchandise Out My ass! Metallica Fukin Rocks!! Then you woke up,skeezer.

GermaN | 6/19/2008, 10:20 am EST

I really like Metallica, especially the first 4 albums. I can`t say the latest albums were bad, they were just of a different style. You can`t expect a band playing the same music for more than 20 years. They have evolved, and that isn`t bad. Its just natural for all musicians. Besides, music is not only guitar solos and musical complexity (look at The Beatles, they played very easy stuff and they were awesome). But I like to see Kirk again :) I`m very proud of them and I will keep on listening to them ever. one of the best metal bands ever, nobody can deny that

me | 6/19/2008, 7:42 pm EST

Who Gives a crap what the title or a disc is. there is no such thing as a black album anyway. what is concidered selling out any way?

St.Angered | 6/19/2008, 9:37 pm EST

No one, will ever write MOP II: return of the Metal, ok so get over it! Metallica Rocks! Cliff is fucking dead! get over it. The black album was a good album! Get over it. Load/RE-Load name a better album that came out in 95! Not all metallica albums are timeless, but then no band can say that. Get over it.

Johnny Ray | 6/20/2008, 8:55 pm EST

Hehehehehehehee,

Death Magnetic !!! Saint Anger !!! Load !!! Reload !!! Man, Somebody Trying Way To Hard To Sound Like Something They’re Not ! Something They Haven’t Been Since Master Of Puppets ! Metalmadman | 6/21/2008, 4:33 am EST

Who gives a shit if you like the title or not the fact that after years of waiting for them to release this damn thing is finally coming to fruition im stoked about that. im just glad it finally has a title makes it seem more of a reality and that its almost time for it to come. trust me you wouldnt be half as interested in talking about metallica’s new album right now if it was still untitled because theyve been talking on and on for years about this album. At least it stirs up a large interest in the albums release. METAL UP UR ASS!

Metal Massacre | 6/21/2008, 5:23 am EST

Death Magnetic? The title isn’t so good, but I hope that music will be so much better. Oh man, every time when I hear One from …And Justice For All album I recall the past times… One- greatest song ever. I’m from Croatia, and I will say only one thing: Metallica je najbolji bend ikada!!!

Art | 6/21/2008, 5:15 pm EST

Just want to say that all these people that hate metallica. Go fucking flame something else. If you don’t like a band, stfu and listen to your own shit and stop harassing and flaming the people that do like them. You don’t see us flaming Ax7 or some other ‘band of the moment’ bullshit cliche you’re all in to. damn puebs.

SELLOUTS. Just like everyone else. They should have quit a long time ago. All the whiney little emo bitch bands need to quit and that includes pretty much every band in the world at this point.

Metallica Rules!!1

WHAT ARE METALLICA?? | 6/26/2008, 10:14 pm EST

When i was younger i loved metallica i cruised around with my metallica shirts with pride everyone knew i was a metallica nut, then what….. St Anger…. that piece of shit made me hide my shirts away pull my posters down it fuckin sucked, ive only just gotten over the betrayel. But, Now hope… i hope to god this album will give the world what metallica gave me pre St-Anger, the pride to sing the Master of puppets solo on the bus or double kick to One when im sitting bored, i am doubtful but ther is hope that this album will help us all remember why we love metallica. i dont want a Master of puppets II or Re-ride the lightning but i wana fuckin rock out!!!

Does not Matter | 6/30/2008, 7:07 pm EST

Hey. All of you people on here that want to talk shit about Metallica, think about all the CRAP!!! that is out today. Yeah St Anger sucked. But every band for the most part has put out a shit album at some point in there history. I personally think this album could be good. There may never be another Master of Puppets, but there still a great band. And I think they got one more in them.

an IRANIAN from IRAN | 7/3/2008, 3:35 pm EST

According to their different expriences with differernt geners and albums I promise you it will be the BEST album in this fucking decade . They are myth. They are real masters in music. They are always good an always perform something new for real music lovers

For some reason I have a feeling that metallica is gonna finally bring back some of their roots that made them Metallica.
I sure as hell hope they do because if they don’t then I’m afraid I have lost all hope LOL

Damage Inc. | 7/11/2008, 12:15 pm EST

[BG]moTTo | 7/12/2008, 3:18 am EST

…just judge the music guys…..

Metallica | 7/16/2008, 12:49 am EST

You can’t just like metallica’s old stuff that doesn’t make you a true fan it just makes you another idiot who thinks metallica sold out. They just expanded their audience. The new stuff was what got many people turned on to the old stuff. If you don’t like don’t talk about it. I have every albm and Metallica cannot make a bad song. Period. Deathmagnetic is gonna rock you ass off. September can’t come any sooner.

tim | 7/16/2008, 5:10 pm EST

i could only listen st anger once and was just in shock…

edwinaac | 7/25/2008, 6:39 pm EST

I’m awaiting this album with equal amounts of excitement and skepticism. The skepticism comes from the fact that just when we (at least I did) thought that Load and Reload were a low point (everybody is allowed to experiment even if it doesn’t please some fans, right?), there comes Metallica, which failed to reestablish them as either a commercial or musical force (I expected the latter). The excitement part comes from the fact that it’s produced by Rick Rubin, who produced, among others that I do not care for, the Slayer albums. So, how can he get it wrong… well, let’s not get carried away. I’m going to give it a shot and hope is a good album, not a great one and if, by some reason it turns out to be great, then I will be first in line to praise it. I’m not hoping too high though, or I would only be setting myself up for disappointment. Come on! If it weren’t for this guys it just wouldn’t have been the same, regardless of what you think of their last efforts. And I’m definitely not expecting Master of Puppets 2, first, because they just simply can’t, James voice is just not the same; second, because if I want to hear Master of Puppets, I just have to put it on (I already own it); third, because they have to move forward, not backwards, not downward.

SK3PTYK | 7/27/2008, 12:58 pm EST

OMFG….all u ppl suck BALLS AND NEED TO GET A LIFE…. WHO REALLY GIVES A SHIT IF THE NEW ALBUM SUCK OR NOT!!!! IF U DONT LIKE IT.. DONT LISTEN TO IT!! UR NEGATIVE COMMENTS MEAN FUCK ALL TO TRUE METALLICA FANS, SO SAVE THEM 4 PPL WHO GIVE A SHIT :) ohhh AND TO ALL U PPL WHO WILL LIKE IT… ROCK ON!!

Rattle your goddamn head | 7/27/2008, 1:57 pm EST

I’m very skeptic about the outcoming of this new metallica record..
Let’s face it… the last album wich was really good was the black album.. an album of almost 2 decades ago!!!!
They were so excited when St anger came out well.. Sorry guys, that album sucks bigtime!!!
Maybe you guys should listen to the 2 latest Megadeth cd’s just to get inspired to make a GOOD record..
Mustaine always got a lot of shit over him and Megadeth, but the truth is, his latest 2 albums are much better than all the shit Metallica brought out the last 16 years!!

michael shelton | 7/28/2008, 1:55 am EST

f$&k anybody who has to talk shit about metallica. St. Anger was a change they wanted to try out and I have listened to metallica since i was five. These guys have more fucking dedication than anybody. I am 100% sure that they will rock out with this new album
michael the metallicat

Mac | 7/28/2008, 1:56 am EST

I ‘m also waiting for death magnetic. It’s been a long time since I heard something good from Metallica. Load was absolute shit. Reload was ok. But, it was not up to Metallica’s standard. St. anger was the worst. Personally I prefer Megadeth over Metallica coz Dave always gets the best musicians in his band. They are very technical. But, I like Metallica too.

woot | 7/29/2008, 11:39 am EST

i hope this album is as kick-butt as any other metallica album. im sure it will be. METALLICA ROX!

Cross your fingers | 7/29/2008, 11:17 pm EST

I’m not going to trash them, but I really hope this one isn’t like the last three albums. I don’t think we need MOP2 (nor *could* that happen since there is only one Cliff Burton) but I’m really hoping for something that joe blow metal fan can actually stand to listen to. Thankfully I’m a Megadeth fan too which has filled the void over the last 16 years (well except for Risk which is their version of a St. Anger flop to a lesser degree).

Also who cares what it’s called. Hell the cover might have a fridge magnet with a big spike sticking out of it. Put a pool of blood under it and it would go nice beside Kill’em All :)

long-live-thrash | 7/30/2008, 6:03 am EST

death magnetic..they say it is the missing link between master and justice album..well,metallica surely can bring back their old music but i doubt about james.he seems too old to thrash anymore…..and one thing, those who hate st.anger, well they should since kirk himself dislike that album

Just Someone else | 7/30/2008, 8:55 am EST

“Death Magnetic” is a great tittle!!! Who says that is not, its because doesnt understand the idea! To understand the concept you need to listen to all the stuf in the album, but the previews already reveals a little bit of it and it is great!!! This album will shut up all the ones that said all that crap about it!

Russian guy | 8/1/2008, 6:33 am EST

Guys, your concerns about St. Anger are understandable, but noone will deny it was a completely new perception, new standards, new horizons of contemporary metal music. Whether it was successful commercially or was it liked by the core fans is another question. One thing is certain – the creative spirit is still there! Metallica is alive! They are very much inventive and capable of delivering NEW MUSIC, NEW SOUND, NEW STYLE!!! I am not defending St. Anger at all – sometimes it is really hard to listen to it – but just hope that the new one along with the expected comeback to the roots will be as innovating, as refreshing and as astonishing a record. You will start to hate it yourself very quickly if it just turns to be a repetition of the old stuff. Hello from Russia! I love you ALL, guys!!!

olo | 8/2/2008, 8:55 am EST

death magnetic, very shallow meaning, almost flat, master of puppets very very deep meaning. but let the music show what it is

Wrong | 8/8/2008, 12:17 pm EST

In RE: to “long-live-thrash | 7/30/2008, 6:03 am EST”

It hasn’t been said that Death Magnetic is the missing link between Master and Justice… they said its the missing link between Justice and the Black album.

Special K, Manchester | 8/9/2008, 5:58 am EST

Well well, this has people in a tiswas, don’t it? There are alot of people getting confused between progression and nostalgia. I have bee listening since kill ‘em all came out, and lost my virginity to ‘puppets’. Puppets will never EVER be matched, copied or bettered. Period. Get over it.

But people will always compare albums – you can’t with Metallica. They have always been braver than most to experiment new things – remember the panning that Justice got? Now that was a departure! I listen to it now and it’s f*cking great.

I can’t get my head around anything since ‘black’, but that’s what they do – challenge tastes.

Stop trying to surgically analyse their music against their last album – you will never reconcile it. The music continues to break boundaries – i am even a bit excited about them using the PROPER logo on the new album, so i will reserve judgement unitl i hear it.

Stop arguing and enjoy them as the amazing band that they are, if not the best musically these days depending on your own opinions. I love them now as much as i did back in ‘83 – just not all of their music. Peace Out!!

Metallicaddict | 8/13/2008, 8:42 pm EST

I only got one thing to say
“METALLICA!!!!!”

simon | 8/18/2008, 5:47 pm EST

I dunno why people say metallica hasnt put out much good since their older albums mostly since the black. I loved at least half the songs on load and reload. I lost most of st.anger. Most people say st.anger sucked but i dont get it. i loved it. Its all a matter of preference really. Ive loved everything theyve done and ill fight sombody for a copy of death magnetic.

Hussein | 8/25/2008, 11:27 pm EST

When I listened to Fade to Black in 1993 for the first time, my life was different; I saw the world in a new light. I was hungry for more. I went on to buy every album that Metallica made and had made. I was shocked with Load, Re-Load, and Saint Anger,… dissappointed in a way, but hey nothing else matters. I am, and will always be a Metallica fan. Each song speaks to me in a different way as it might to you. Unforgiven II meant a different thing to me than Unforgiven I – I still fell in love with it. For all the reasons in the world, just look at the comments people post up here. There is alot of love and hate for this band, because they are the greatest metal band there ever was. Metallica for life. Birth, School, Metallica, Death.

thegame1299 | 8/28/2008, 1:17 am EST

Metallica has never really been the same since the Black Album, but they still, to this day, have not disappointed me. There first released song on Death Magnet (The Day That Never Comes) combines old skool Heavy Metal with a kind of new skool rock. I think they have outdone themselves on this one compared to what they’ve been putting out the past couple years.
Anyway
ROCK ON METALLICA FANS!!!!!!!

Slaytanic One | 8/28/2008, 12:15 pm EST

I would like the new Metallica to be good, I really would. Its just too bad the band hasn’t been able to maintain like SLAYER has over the years. Its a damn shame. When it comes to this new album it will be like all of them after AJFA, expect the worst & hope for the best.

Rook | 8/28/2008, 2:15 pm EST

Its true that for a regular band Load and Reload would be good albums, but for Metallica thats just not true. They were awful for a “thrash metal” band of their calibre. St Anger shouldnt even have been release it is that poor. I am of the suspicion that the new album will still be lacking. It wont be as fast and technical as lightning, as heavy and technical as Puppets, or new and original as Black. From the 3 songs ive heard already it will be a very average affair like load/reload. Heavy country music, with hetfields vocals getting even more silly sounding. They need to get some decent, technical riffs.

big joe | 8/28/2008, 8:23 pm EST

i have been a fan since day one, whether the new album suck or not, metallica is my band, just like anything else in this life, whether it was a sport team, a band, your best friend or your parent, on day they suck and one day you love then to death.i can’t wait till i buy the new album and play the fuck out if it. rock on.

Chris Wilson | 8/29/2008, 10:29 pm EST

Why is nobody mentioning S&M? That shit was amazing(thanks to the composer) garage Inc was great as well and the 3 songs from this album sound totally awesome. I know that the aforementioned albums were covers and such but they did kick ass! Lets just deal with the fact that Metallica is, was and will forever be remembered as AMAZING!! Oh yeah, and Slayer…really?!

metullica | 9/1/2008, 1:09 am EST

I can’t wait for the album! I think the first part of the song “The day that never comes” sounds a lot lika load/re-load stuff (I like those records too) but about 6 minutes 27 seconds the song gets totally insane. I love it. I hope the rest of the album sounds like that. It kicks ass.

I just have to say, I have not listened to Metallica extensivly. But I have listened to everything they have put out. And as other have said, If you are TRUE Metallica fan, you will appreciate everything they bring forth. For they are still bringing it, which is sayingsomething by itself. And I have heard the previews of Death Magnetic and I have to say it is reminiscent of the Black Album and Ride The Lightning. So enjoy it Metallica fans, who knows how long they will keep going but if they keep bringing stuff like this to the table I will listen to anything they put out. Thanks Metallica, I was just talking to a friend and wondering if a new album was coming and to my surprise.. bang here we are. THANKS METALLICA, you truly do kick a**

I have been listening to Metallica ever since I was a kid. I been fortunate enough to have attended a few of the concerts. IT’S MADNESS!!! Time after time Metallica has proven to rise from the ashes, when critics thought they were down for the count. They are the sole survivors of heavy metal. I always say, that a true Metallica fan be easily spotted by the way they pronounce “Metallica.” It’s got a punch to it. All said and done, Death Magnetic is awesome! Just crank that mother up and you’ll see what I’m talking about!!!

I’ve just downloaded and listened the new album and I wanna say that it’s kicks ass. Forget that shit called St Anger , Death Magnetic rules !!!

Rish | 9/6/2008, 3:18 am EST

Just listened to the album and i have to say it’s gold, it’s sounds like a mixture of old and new metallica, with a whole new edge. it’s good to see metallica has found themselves once again and put some real effort into this album. they’ve gone back to the original format 7-8 minute songs, instumentals, fast, neck shattering headbanging solos and harmony’s that complement the 80 thrash sound which they pioneered.could this be the return that every headbanging metal fan has waited for. and purhaps they took the Robert Johnson approach and sold their souls to the devil.

I don’t know why people hang shit on Load, and Reload, they were great albums, St Anger meh not so good.

Oh and Death Magnetic will melt your face it’s that good fullstop.

Peter James | 9/10/2008, 10:03 am EST

this Album is better than Master of Puppets. There has to be some-one who says it. Don’t be scared, it really is THAT good! Kirk would be VERY happy.

martini | 9/11/2008, 7:09 am EST

listened to the previews and thought it was absolutly amazing, that is all

David | 9/11/2008, 7:51 pm EST

The more I listen to St Anger, the more I like it – even love it! Can’t say the same about Load and Reload, although I think The Memory Remains is one of Metallica’s best ever tracks. Hard and tough!

I’ve only heard Death Magnetic through the tiny speaker on my iMac, so I’m yet to get the full effect. Will be buying the album today and dialing the stereo up to 10.

Wency | 9/12/2008, 10:33 pm EST

Metallica has always SUCKED ever since reload. But this one turned me around. I think I’m going to buy the album. I hate admitting it but they still do put out good music.

Andrew | 9/13/2008, 6:06 pm EST

I’m halfway through the album right now…(Just bought it)…Absolutely amazing. Keep in mind …And Justice For All is my favorite Metallica album. This album is bringing out things I didn’t know were possible in music. Fucking rock!

Renier Jacobs | 9/30/2008, 6:05 pm EST

Well. Metallica is the masters of metal. My fav band always. But ja st anger sounds like lars is playing like a kid on his grandmas pots and pans and the songs are lame. Sounds like they recorded in a toilet. Man i record betr with my pc. Haha. Did they made st anger to confuse metallica fans. Well death magnetics much better jeah! Much betr than load and reload. Gud job metallica. Glad the solos are back! I hate korn. But st anger sounds worse than korn. St anger sucks big time. Bt i love metallica.

harvesterofsorrow | 10/24/2008, 7:08 am EST

crap magnet makes me want to puke heavily digested classic(pre black album)metallica all over every band member.maybe then they will remember what real metal smells like.the magic is forever gone.sad but true, indeed.

Renier Jacobs | 6/10/2009, 3:42 am EST

Death magnetic is better than load and reload. It has the old solos back. Some songs have the nice long intros and all metallica’s albums rock. Exept saint anger,( the pot and pan album).
