Even though June may seem early to make New Year’s Eve plans, My Morning Jacket announced today they will spend the last night of 2008 performing in the coveted December 31 slot at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Playing “the world’s most famous arena” seems like a suitable way for MMJ to close out a year in which they conquered fellow NYC institutions Radio City Music Hall and Saturday Night Live for the first time. The group also released their Evil Urges this week. Tickets for the concert go on sale June 27th via Ticketmaster.
