Video Vixen Tawny Kitaen, GNR’s Steven Adler Enter “Celebrity Rehab”

6/10/08, 4:12 pm EST

Celebrity Rehab will return to VH1 airwaves for a second season, as Dr. Drew will attempt to mend the drug-addled lives of some of pop culture’s most insignificant celebrities. Undergoing detoxification this time around is L.A. riot catalyst Rodney King, Rod Stewart’s son Sean, model/Playmate Amber Smith and Rehab season one star Jeff Conaway. Filling out the roster is former American Idol contestant Nikki McKibbon, music video icon Tawny Kitaen and, most notably, Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler. Also making a cameo this season will be clinically insane actor Gary Busey, who will regularly stop by to “share his experiences and thoughts on the recovery process,” which we assume will involve shouting nonsense and punching Dr. Drew in the balls.

Seeing Steven Adler in such a state on “Celebrity Rehab” is pretty horrifying. I think if kids got to watch this in school they might think twice before doing heroin. It’s quite miraculous the rest of the original Guns are alive and apparently clean. “Appetite for Destruction” was a very fitting title for their album debut.

The truth shines through, during the difficult moments, acting out and being star studded self centered celebs doesnt change the final price paid for a life of addiction, death.Regardless of their wealth, and fame the only real engaging reflection I seen watching the show, was that no amount of wishfull thinking and eye rolling can over come the desease without ones first looking in the mirror and acknowledging the truth, the show ends with a toe tag, in the morgue all alone.Thats the final appearance most of the participants will likely make, if they dont surrender, and change their perspective, lifes. One day at a time works for anyone, not just average human beings, famous or not, thats the only solution.

Steve Adler- you are a very special person. I can see how loving and compasionate you are to others. Please continue your sobriety and know that you are here on this earth for a reason. You can do it-don’t give up.

Dr. Drew…..I think the show is being very unkind showing Steven’s mother as the “witch”. I’ve known her since we were kids and she would never do anything to hurt Steven. She really loves him and only left him with her mother so she could work to support her family. Her husband had left her and she was doing the best she could. She later remarried and her husband adopted both of her boys, they had a son and then her husband later became ill and Deanna took care of him for 16 years until he died about two years ago. She really isn’t the ogre that you show her to be. You never even gave her a chance to defend herself. You should give her a chance….interview her.

Steven Adler.. there is something very special about you… learn to hate the drugs and love yourself. With or without your mom you need to overcome the addiction and live…live for your wife, the music and the gift of life. Sounds easy.. it’s not… but have faith… be very stubborn and you will survive.

Steven Adler will make it; he has to….no matter if his mother acknowledges her part in his addictions or not. Steven Adler is a good guy on the road to getting better. We love him!

Im reading a biography of Slash from Guns and Roses who who speaks soooooo highly of Steven as his best friends, its amazing. Im soo happy to see Steven alive and well, married and getting well.
They are both HUGE influences of my life. Everyone in this world goes through f-en up times, but I am happy to see that Steven, who I admire alot, is seeking treatment and happily married. that makes me happy, when others are happy. Good luck to u all, u r in my thoughts. Holly

Having lost a brother to heroin, another in and out of prison for same and yet another one in prison due to his addictions, I know now that addiction is a desease and the only ‘chemo’ is forgiveness of self and others. Let the “grace” in more Steven. You are a gentle spirit and oh so inspiring to so many. I don’t agree with anyone that posts “nonsense” that you all are doing this for money. THANK YOU for allowing us to examine ourselves through and by your example. No one is walking this earth unscathed by “life”… it’s always in session and with the right tools, it’s not a bad place to be. Perhaps after watching the show, your mother will learn to “walk right”. I will continue to pray for your relationship with her and you as well.

Steven
One cannot help but empathize with the life you’ve lived. But, we all have our demons. Sometimes, you have to put your end of the tug of war down.. let go. I sincerely hope you are able to see in the end, you are worth the struggle and have much to offer the world. One only has to read how many people are pulling for you to see that you need to read your press releases and know that THAT IS WHO YOU ARE. Not that scared little boy that was abandoned. Sad to say, your Mother is who she is..and unfortunately cannot realize what she has done. You have much to live for. Many care about you and are standing by you. Become the leader here, we will follow you.
Be proud of who you are and know WE are in awe of your talent and most of all, your gentle spirit

Poor Steven Adler. When I was a teen I thought he was just hot and he could kick it on a drum so good that he gave Tommy Lee a run for his money! I feel horrible for him because of the stroke, the addictions, his pain. But he has a good wife and he is the sweetest person on Celeb Rehab! He is very friendly and is genuine. I hope he can kick this habit. And I hope his wife sticks with him. Get clean Stevie!

In my opinion, shows like this one, is for publicity and to make money for those celebrities on the show and for Dr. Drew himself. Nothing like making a circus out of one’s own personal problems! There are other ways to get help with any personal problems other than exposing one’s self on any type of media!!

At some point, according to the law of averages, Steven Adler will have spent more combined days of his life in rehab than out.
