6/6/08, 3:08 pm EST

The Police’s final show of their reunion tour will be a public television benefit at New York’s Madison Square Garden on August 7th. The B-52’s will open for Sting and company. The only way to get tickets is through a June 14th fundraiser on New York’s two public television stations. The concert is expected to be the largest fundraising event in public television history.

They were SO burnt out May 28 at the Hollywood Bowl. By “they” I mean Sting.

Saw them 3x on the reunion tour. One show was great, other two sucked.

Sting needs to take his ego/solo career arrangements out of these Police songs!

All you said is bullshit. This band without Sting would be nothing. Sting’s composer talent was seen by Copeland and Summers. Sting made (composed and arranged) almost whole band’s material. Instrumental skills are not enough. There are many peoples with these skills…

Sting and The Police are incredible! they have influenced the most important Latin Rock Band ever “Soda Stereo”. His singer Gustavo Cerati, sing “Tráeme la noche” spanish version for “Bring on the night”. In that song he plays with Andy Summers. Download the “Outlandos d´Ámerica” The latin tribute to The Police….tehre are increidble versions like 2Bajo tu dominio” (Wrapped around your fingers) by brazilian band Skank, and “Almas en el mundo material” (Spirits in the material world)performed by Puya, from Puerto Rico.

Greetings from Argentina ! South América, The country where the Rock en español, was born !

The bands ticket prices were incredibly overpriced. It looks more like a back pay tour from years of inactivity.Besides, they are way overrated.

,,,,,a once great band, reduced to this,,,,,,sigh!

Whoever says the Police are overated is just plain stupid. This is one of the best bands ever. Look at the sellouts at all of their concerts.

Too bad TicketMaster and Madison Square Garden screwed over a bunch of the fans by moving their presale fan club seats AND some of the PBS benefit seats out of the prime spots and into the nosebleeds. TicketMaster did not even have the decency to notify those fans affected or offer them any compensation.

The Police is the best band ever!!!
