Of all the strange offshoots of the Wu-Tang Clan, it’s safe to say the oddest of them all launched today online: WuChess, the brainchild of Wu-Tang mad scientist RZA, is finally up and running. As the name suggests, the site is almost a social network for fans of the Wu and chess to communicate, challenge each other and “train in chambers against the computer to refine your skills.” The site also allows users to play
RZA and other members of the Clan to games of chess. “The game of chess, is like a swordfight. You must think first, before you move. Toad style is immensely strong, and immune to nearly any weapon. When it’s properly used, it’s almost invincible,” says the Razor. The chance to go all Bobby Fischer on Ghostface Killah does have a price tag, though: it’ll cost $48 for a year of service.
