  • After a year of freedom, record producer Phil Spector will be retried starting September 29th. Spector’s previous trial for the murder of actress Lara Clarkson ended in a mistrial.
  • A Canadian promoter said that rumors of Led Zeppelin playing a series of concerts at Toronto’s Sky Dome are “just rumors.”
  • A documentary about Motorhead’s Lemmy is on the way. Lemmy will feature interviews with Dave Grohl, Mick Jones and Lemmy himself.
  • Kanye West, Common, Method Man and Redman were all sued for sampling late jazz artist Joe Farrell’s 1974 song “Upon This Rock” without permission.

They had a documentary on The Ramones on Showtime last week and they recall the horrible experience of working with Phil Spector.

He would spend hours just recording one guitar note over and over, would mutter to himself or start screaming out for no apparent reason!

When Johnny Ramone had enough and decided to leave, Phil threatened to shoot him if he did so.

So this is not unchartered territory for Phil. Hopefully they nail the son of a bitch this time around!
