Gadget Envy: Sony Ericsson W760i Walkman Phone

5/22/08, 12:38 pm EST

What It Is: The latest in Sony Ericsson’s sleek, easy-to-use line of MP3-playing slider phones.

Who It’s For: Music fans who still want their handsets to be phones first and everything else second.

Why It’s Worthy: The W760i is delightfully compact, allows for loading up music via the Memory Stick Micro, supports 3D gaming, contains a GPS and an RSS reader and has speakers on the face so you can annoy everybody on the bus with your download of “Lollipop.” But the most charming feature is the fact that you can shake it to skip ahead to the next track on your playlist, completely eliminating the need for silly buttons.

Our Only Complaint: The accompanying software is Windows-only. A 1 gigabyte memory stick is included, but you’ll probably want to upgrade to a larger one.

Cost/Where to Get It: Price TBA; Sony Ericsson (Available soon)
