Here's A List | 5/18/2008, 2:54 am EST

How about a list called “50 Reasons Why Metallica Is Total Shit”?

luke skyywaker | 5/18/2008, 2:29 am EST

this isn’t a “best” Metallica songs or “favorite” Metallica songs, it’s just a list of Metallica songs.

So what’s the significance, what’s the importance, and why is someone drawing a salary to come up with such vacant ideas?

Well since the bar is set so low, how about a list of a set of songs that are “The Best To Take A Shit To”?

The first 4 albums cause every song is awesome. Every album after that goes down hill. Orion is my fav and why does some idiot always have to bring up Megadeth. Hey Jeff Megadeth is better Mustaine wrote half the music for their first two albums. But I still love Tallica. Both bands are pioners.

Here is my dream set list (2 part show) I’ve seen them 19 times, so I want my 20th to be special and no opening band, just an evening with Metallica. Thought I would do this instead of favorite songs. This would be a 3 hour show, but hey if older bands can do it, they can too.

Ecstacy of Gold
Battery
Fight Fire With Fire
Creeping Death
And Justice For All Album in it’s entirety

2nd half
Enter Sandman

“Call of Ktulu”

I enjoyed 80% of Load/ReLoad, and although St. Anger is horrible songwise, I love the drumming and I actually thing the production is kinda cool - no album can be cranked as loud as that one.

WalkinDude | 5/16/2008, 7:41 pm EST

Ok, first: Rolling Stone, you guys are crazy for making this a weekend rock list.
Second: Everyone who says everything after The Black Album sucks, get with the program! While it wasn’t what they had been playing before, at least it was still good quality and wasn’t as shitty as some of the “metal” of today.
Third: Fade to Black
Fuel
The Unforgiven I and II
One
Master of Puppets
The Call of Ktulu
Battery
Blackened
The Ecstasy of Gold (if you want to count that)
and their covers of Tuesday’s Gone and Turn the Page (if you count those too)

Commence the flaming!!
