The Roots were the best preformers of the festival. Hands down. You are all out of your minds if you say anyone topped them. Dylan was amazing to watch, not many can still preform at his age. The Raconteurs weren’t quite as impressive as Jack White himself.

Don’t forget, Dylan is legendary. He rivals John Lennon for top dog in the history of American Music. Just getting the chance to see him live is something special.

The Needs from Germany | 10/9/2008, 8:41 pm EST

I have heard that he has seen the German band “The Needs” (www.theneeds.de) playing somewhere and envited to record someting with him. Is that right? It would be great if he was such a role model giving young people this chance! I had never heard about that band before.

I can’t wait. I wish it was duing school so I could just walk from Pitt, but I may just park and walk anyway. I dont care if it gonna be packed, this will be a great show given nice weather. WARNING beware the Monongahala, it breeds herpes.

drunkard | 7/11/2008, 12:44 pm EST

To the comment about camp ground no its right in the heart of things in Pittsburgh, you are gonna need a hotel. And I just read today that they are expecting 10,000. I think that is way off this is gonna be a massacre. Oh well, I’ll still be front row for the Black Keys!

mybackpages | 6/18/2008, 6:41 pm EST

Those other acts are good, but only Dylan has the Pulitzer.

zimmie | 6/18/2008, 6:32 pm EST

dylan: the singer that poet’s turn to and the poet that singer’s turn to.

Kate | 6/14/2008, 12:50 pm EST

So, I have never been into Pittsburgh; does anyone have any additional info on the venue? Is this a campground in which you stay all weekend, or will I be need a hotel?

Gnarly Sath Side Yinzer | 6/6/2008, 4:30 pm EST

All they need to do is errect a stage in the massive parking lot between 25th and 26th street.

1069 | 6/3/2008, 7:58 pm EST

Dylan and the Black Keys is South Side. Traffic…who cares, take a bus, cab, jitney, bike, trolley or here’s one…walk. Can’t wait. This is History in the making. Rock & Roll!

jaged | 5/30/2008, 8:59 am EST

still no announcement about where exactly the bands will play…how they’ll get all the fans in and out of the area…I think that I’ll walk over from Oakland…

Clarice | 5/24/2008, 12:51 am EST

I love Elizabethan Report! I’ve been listening to them for quite a while and they have a really unique sound and they are highly danceable. It’s so fun to watch them live. I hope they do well.

BARE CHESTED BOOZER | 5/22/2008, 6:41 pm EST

ROYAL_HOOKER | 5/22/2008, 6:39 pm EST

OMFG I’ve slept with every member of the ROYAL BANGS and they know how to do it in the bedroom and on stage. I wish this was just a ROYAL BANGS concert. The other bands are just filler IMO.

Bearded Clam | 5/22/2008, 7:03 am EST

Royal Bangs r the best band ever. Not to mention they are TTL HOTTIES. they will probably be the most famous band ever. definitely better than boyz II men

The festival will be held in the undeveloped tract and the parking lot beside McCormick and Schmits. It’s expected that the venue can hold 10,000. Traffic at SSW is already a mess so this should be fun.

your mom | 5/16/2008, 12:08 pm EST

As a pittsburgh native who used to regular the open mic at the Birmingham Bridge Tavern (next to southside works), i am also stumped as to where this is going to be staged. Completely ignoring the fact that traffic will be a NIGHTMARE.

Anonymous | 5/16/2008, 12:07 am EST

This concert is set to be a disaster. The venue will not be able to accomodate the number of attendees a show of this magnitude will attract for one thing. It appears poorly thought out, and being one with significant large event planning experience, I can say that I see nothing but problems here.

zeel boy | 5/15/2008, 8:31 pm EST

obviously the reason why this festtival is going to be awesome is because kiedis is bringing it together

Nathan | 5/15/2008, 7:28 pm EST

Those top 4 acts make this the best festival of 2008!

moi | 5/15/2008, 5:07 pm EST

Is there a website to see what time which band will go on?

Brian | 5/15/2008, 3:18 pm EST

I read it’ll be in the public square in front of Cheesecake. That undeveloped land you speak of, Ben, is going to be the site of a German beer house which should be completed (maybe) by the time of the event. So, hey, that’s not a bad thing at all!

Tia | 5/15/2008, 2:15 pm EST

WHAT???

Ben | 5/15/2008, 1:29 pm EST

all i can think of is as far as location is that there’s probably a large tract of undeveloped flat land between the Works and the river…that’s probably where it will be held…and i live 10 blocks away!!!!

Brian | 5/15/2008, 12:44 pm EST

Wow, this rules. I don’t understand where in SouthSide Works they are going to hold this, as there are zero actual venues there and not really large space for people to congregate except for the fountain area by Cheesecake Factory. Hmm.

Kyle | 5/15/2008, 10:09 am EST

I live in northeast Ohio and finally a major festival near where I live! Bob Dylan and the Raconteurs alone make it worth it. And the 15 college bands will likely be amazing.
