News Ticker: Notorious B.I.G., Gnarls Barkley, Radiohead, Live Nation

  • A Los Angeles judge has ruled the family of the Notorious B.I.G. may proceed with their wrongful-death case. The suit alleges renegade LAPD officers were involved in the 1997 slaying of the rapper.

  • In addition to Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, Gnarls Barkley have confirmed a bunch of overseas summer festival appearances, including Roskilde and Benicassim.
  • Thom Yorke has again expressed discontent with EMI’s release of a Radiohead greatest-hits package, reportedly saying, “We haven’t really had any hits so what exactly is the purpose?”
  • Perhaps partially due to shelling out big bucks on mega-million-dollar contracts for Madonna and Jay-Z, Live Nation announced a $35 million loss for the first quarter of 2008.

Why would Thom Yorke arrogantly declare that he’s part of “a band that has stopped writing anything listenable or accessable”?

(”accessible” misspelled)

That doesn’t sound like someone who’s arrogant, it sounds more like someone who’s having a breakdown.

I’ll tell you a little secret about blogging . . . shhhh sometimes people actually read what you write.!

I am Thom Yorke's Arrogance. | 5/10/2008, 3:25 pm EST

God forbids anybody wanting a collection of listenable, accessible songs from a band that has stopped writing anything listenable or accessible.

You’re right, Big, but the gun’s going to be pointed AT YOU!

It’s simply EMI’s pathetic attempt at revenge for Radiohead leaving them.
