As we reported on Saturday, and as Jack Johnson prognosticated on Friday, Prince wowed the Coachella audience with an emotional take on Radiohead’s “Creep.” For those who missed the Purple One’s performance in the Indio desert, check out the cover above, and keep checking back for more video as the festival-goers return to their homes and hit the YouTube.

I didn’t have to be there or see the video to know that Prince most likely did a masterfull job. But people come on how old are you? Don’t any of you remember how he became SO INTO HIMSELF that he was no longer to be called Prince? God I didn’t even realise anyone still called him that. He of all people shouldn’t have performed someone else’s song. It is just wrong. And about the sexually graffic nature of your words, Andrew, I was around when he was humping a piano so no offense taken. Truthfully he is becoming another M.J.

I used to really dig prince, I even recpect the fact that he makes efforst to keep his music from being illegally downloaded…but to ban all video links of his performances…what happened ot the innovator who was ahead of the times? Now all he seems is a douche bag cheap a** hindering further advancement of his career by short changing his fans opportunities to see his performances when they can;t be present. GET BACK ON TASK AND GET WITH THE TIMES…you are losing and alienating long time fans buddy!!!

THE LINK DOESN’T WORK ANYMORE!
Can someone send me the file please?

Radiohead refuses to perform Creep?
What concerts have you been going to? None. Obviously.

Prince was amazing. Sure, he might be pretentious, but so is the idea of an all ‘indie’ festival in the first place. Get over yourselves.

Since Radiohead refuses to perform “Creep,” I’m glad Prince did! Amazing cover!!

I think this is brilliant, the sound he is producing is so interesting, I hate gimmickry
and it would be a lie to say there is none here, but someone has to be over the top once in a while, bet everyone who saw it loved the performance, keep going prince you egomaniac.

Prince Rogers Nelson…doesn’t get any better than that.

Prince was totally trying to capture that slob of a Coachella crowd. Good try Prince, not bad a cover, slow and slick then hard.
Now, audience, he wasnt completely trying to woo U was he?
Bring back the Cloud Prince!

I’m a diehard Radiohead fan.
I’m an above average Prince fan.
But that cover didn’t really do much for me.

Prince is a legend. He’s been a legend, and he continues to prove that there is still hope for music, despite all the nonsense pus*y rock bands, has-been rappers, and the garbage pop that pollutes the ears of millions.
He is a reason to lisen to music, and a reason why old jams never die. Long live the funk!

i’m torn. on the one hand it’s Prince, and he did an incredible rendition of ‘Best of You’ for the Superbowl, but on the other hand, he takes a tight emotional four minute song and milks it with all these way too long breaks and redundant “look at me” guitar solos. it’s like bumping uglies with a hot chick who takes a break three or four times right before climax until you just lose interest(sorry if that’s too graphic, but it is prince. had to make a sexual referene, ya dig.)
Diesel | 4/28/2008, 3:52 pm EST
Prince belongs wherever there is music. Respect due.
Tallboy | 4/28/2008, 3:04 pm EST
Prince is a creep and a weirdo. What the hell was he doing there? He doesn’t belong there.
lipstickfumanchu | 4/28/2008, 2:32 pm EST
Uninspired, boring-as-vanilla verse followed by hugely rock-cliche chorus. This is gimmickry, flat out, and that’s all Prince has left. Let his most recent album be testament.

I was at the front!!! The best !!!! he took a beautifull sad song to heaven!
