- It was a very motley week at Rock Daily, as Nikki Sixx told us about the Crüe’s “demented” new album. Then we found out about the video game premiere of their new single and their new album and touring festival at what looked like the coolest press conference of all time.
- Rolling Stone unveiled the new “Best of Rock 2008″ issue, which featured (among dozens of other items) insight into the genius of Danger Mouse, some kickass t-shirts and a frank conversation with Led Zeppelin drummer Jason Bonham.
- In reality show news, Mariah Carey guested on American Idol, which saw the departure of Kristy Lee Cook (and hopefully the start of a new Internet meme). Elsewhere, Miss Rap Supreme made it’s awesome debut and, inexplicably, Rock the Cradle continued to exist.
- Rock Daily loved it live, as we saw all-star shows care of Tom Morello and Paul Simon, Dave Matthews and friends hang out with the Dalai Lama, Mudcrutch get back into the swing of things and Kanye West launch his “Glow in the Dark” tour. And for anybody looking for the thrill of playing live themselves can look forward to this.
- Finally, there were some endings this week, as Clive Davis stepped down from his CEO job, Jane’s Addiction walked away from their differences for a reunion and the E Street Band tragically lost a beloved family member to illness.
