Every week Poison frontman Bret Michaels searches for a worthy life partner on Rock of Love 2, while Rock Daily searches for ways to reference “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” in our Rock Reality Show Recaps. Here’s our take on episode eleven:
Sixty Minutes of Rockin’ Reality in Two Sentences: Bret Michaels brings in the girls’ families — Ambre’s dad, Destiney’s biker parents and Daisy’s … ex-boyfriend’s sister — to eat bbq and share secrets, which only means trouble for the not-quite-thirty-two-year-old Ambre. We know Bret means business because he greets the folks without his bandanna on.
Did Every Rose Have Its Thorn?: No, but we had “Nothing But a Good Time” … in fact, Destiney had too much of a good time, rocking out like a pyscho groupie while Michaels played footage from an upcoming Poison live DVD (and mouthed along to his own lyrics). On a more serious note, though, Destiney’s father, who was suffering from liver cancer at the time of the taping, passed away before the air date. His love of life touched Bret and the rest of us, and was certainly worth a few acoustic strums of Michaels’ favorite tune.
The Most Ridiculous Part: Like Heather in the first season, Destiney convinces Bret that a trip to the tattoo parlor would be wise. Unlike the bold, confident, loveably insane Heather, though, Destiney opts to have the Rock of Love 2 logo (a heart pierced by two swords) inscribed onto the back of her neck, rather than any actual words.
The Rockin’ Finish: Ambre explains she had to lie about her age because of her job (and what kind of work might she be in?) and professes her love, as does Daisy through her plumped lips. Destiney’s admission that she doesn’t love Michaels after a mere two weeks of polyamorous courtship wound up causing a throwdown at elimination and resulted in her dismissal. Which means tune in next week as Daisy and Ambre (who, according to Daisy, is like “eighty years old”) battle for Bret’s heart once and for all.
