News Ticker: Nine Inch Nails, Austin City Limits, Rob Zombie

  • Trent Reznor has revealed the newest touring lineup of Nine Inch Nails. Former NIN guitarist Robin Finck (who most recently was a member of Guns N’ Roses) will rejoin Reznor after an eight-year absence (and send Axl Rose searching the want ads).
  • While the official Austin City Limits lineup won’t be announced April 15th, a mashup on the festival’s site insinuated that the Raconteurs, N.E.R.D., Gnarls Barkley and more would attend the Austin, TX festival.
  • Fuego Entertainment have agreed to not release a bootlegged 1962 concert of the Beatles performing in Hamburg, Germany, until the lawsuit filed against the company is resolved.
  • Rob Zombie posted an update on his official website regarding his new album. “Work on the new album is moving along great. We have about 10 songs so far. No release date as of yet,” the Halloween director said.

Mr. Kreps,

With all due respect, there is nothing in that story that says Robin Finck has LEFT GN’R permanently. Other members of GN’R have toured with other acts and projects and that has not meant they have left GN’R.

Your post is misleading and should be amended.

Other members have not joined other headlining bands that required major commitments. Dizzy doing club shows with HNB and Fortus playing a few shows with Nena is not the same thing as your lead guitarist joining NIN tour band. The last time Finck toured with Reznor he actually “left” GNR, only to return later. No one is saying he won’t ever come back, but to think he is still IN GNR is boobish. I don’t think Mr Kreps has made that big of leap.
