Weekend Rock List: Next Velvet Revolver Singer

4/4/08, 3:38 pm EST

With Scott Weiland officially out as singer of Velvet Revolver, this week’s Rock List will be an open casting call to vocalists you think are worthy of the job. Slash told us yesterday he had some people in mind, but he didn’t want to start “naming names.” So we’ll name ‘em for him. Tell us your picks for who should rock the mic with VR, and on Monday we’ll reveal the winner of the Rock List: Next Velvet Revolver Singer. In the meantime, here’s who we’re lobbying for:

Phil Anselmo: All the haters who thought VR didn’t rock hard enough with the glam-happy Weiland would roll out the red carpet for the former voice of Pantera.

Chris Cornell: Because not only does Audioslave not want him, but having Timbaland produce his solo album and cashing in off American Idol don’t seem like the best career options for the former Soundgarden frontman right now.

Mike Patton: The man is a vocal chameleon and can fill the role of Rose, Weiland or anybody else for that matter. Any contract with Velvet Revolver should include an opt-out clause that allows Patton to reunite Mr. Bungle.

Trent Reznor: He did just dismiss his touring band.

Axl Rose: For obvious reasons. If that were to happen, they should give Dizzy Reed a call too.

Gary Cherone or John Carobi, DUH!

:-)

stagnatekepp | 4/4/2008, 4:42 pm EST

Mike Patton is amazing but there is no way he would joing Velvet Revolver. The man despised GNR (sadly) and told INXS to f themselves when they asked him to be their new singer.

stuporfly | 4/4/2008, 4:49 pm EST

Leo Sayer.

stuporfly | 4/4/2008, 4:53 pm EST

Steve Tyler!

Julien | 4/4/2008, 4:58 pm EST

And what about a Faith No More reunion ?

evergreenLayne | 4/4/2008, 5:04 pm EST

Anselmo has a band – its called Down. As for any other potential replacements its like Gilby Clarke said – you ain’t gonna find someone on your level. Maybe they’ll find a raw talent but he better be good cuz they’ve only got one record left on that contract!

Jack D | 4/4/2008, 5:13 pm EST

Patton is god, he would never do it but we can dream right?

cameron | 4/4/2008, 5:42 pm EST

mike patton is a shit singer.the only person i can think of is bach.but he is to chummy with rose.

Melissa | 4/4/2008, 5:57 pm EST

Lukas Rossi! He is perfect for it. He has the swagger, the vocal, an amazing stage presence, and writes his own stuff.

bones337 | 4/4/2008, 6:13 pm EST

to see these boys break up,pisses me off, but any singer worthy of there stature would the likes of chris cornell.

kennyak47bass | 4/4/2008, 7:27 pm EST

as a 35 year career musician i think all these guys are spoiled punks who couldnt survive in the “real” world

fernando x fuentes | 4/4/2008, 7:40 pm EST

mike patton is too good for this shit band.

he hated g’n'r for the same reasons i did.
inxs was a much better band and he turned them down.
he’s too damn creative to sit in on a full time band anyways.

as much as i’ve dreamed about a faith no more reunion i’m happy w/ what he’s doing now.

honestly, i think they should get ozzy for the last album.
that’s pretty much the only possible way i would ever really give it a try (any other singer w/ that much talent knows to turn down shit when it’s coming).
sorry VR, saw you at ozzfest and i was annoyed you guys were on the bill. how the hell did you guys play after rob zombie or mastodon?
seriously?
i will admit you are alot better than rage against the garden.
that was awful.

youth of the nation | 4/4/2008, 7:47 pm EST

The front man/boy of Velvet Revolver should be the one and only, 13 year old Jesse Kinch. The kid is a great performer and guitar player!…with great stage presence. You have to check this kid out at jessekinch .com it would be so different.this kid is 13 going on 30!!! He rocks hard and writes also!

Serena | 4/4/2008, 8:01 pm EST

Jesse Kinch, who has been opening act for both Lukas Rossi, and Ryan Star of Rockstar Supernova. He is a great frontman with great stage presence.HE’S THE ONE!!!

Jake Burns | 4/4/2008, 8:13 pm EST

Bette Midler, Celine Dion, Rick Astley, The New Kids on the Block, The Backstreet Boys, 99 Degrees? They’d all fit!

Gonza | 4/4/2008, 9:00 pm EST

Sebastian Bach Please!!

hfhf | 4/4/2008, 10:42 pm EST

Eric dover of Slash’s snakepit would be perfect

stos | 4/4/2008, 10:52 pm EST

why not sammy haggar!

fetter | 4/4/2008, 11:04 pm EST

definately eric dover from slash’s snakepit i think he is perfect

Mark T | 4/4/2008, 11:14 pm EST

Scott Stapp

thezero | 4/4/2008, 11:19 pm EST

whoever said patton is a “shit” singer has no clue… NO CLUE…

hmmm, a band like velvet revolver would really benefit from having someone like sebastian bach…

Jack | 4/4/2008, 11:25 pm EST

The surviving member from Milli Vanilli…unless he killed himself too. Then I would pick William Shatner

Anonymous | 4/4/2008, 11:48 pm EST

Velvet Revolver is AWFUL… two AWFUL albums… why would they even consider a new singer? The albums where a joke.. I don’t consider them 1/20th of STP or GUns N Roses… not even 1/20th.

Anonymous | 4/4/2008, 11:54 pm EST

joe esposito or rick astley!!!

SlipKid | 4/4/2008, 11:58 pm EST

STP kicks ass and they are going to give rock a kick in the ass…Were talkin two genres here 80’s rock and 90’s grundge. Both serve music well, but I think VR sounded like a latter edition of GNR. Anything with Slash will sound that way, he has a distinct sound. STP will dominate again, Weiland has the charisma and stage voice and presence of a true rocker, Slash does too but better suited with Axel’s closet ass!

JJ | 4/4/2008, 11:59 pm EST

Do they really have to record another VR album? I say they just form a new band and move on, neither of the two VR albums are ground braking. They sound more like an excuse for Slash to play his guitar and collect a paycheck. You know it’s true.

slash73 | 4/5/2008, 12:00 am EST

Sebastian Bach

ROBO | 4/5/2008, 12:18 am EST

Josh Todd of Buckcherry, what a perfect fit

gnr_fan | 4/5/2008, 12:27 am EST

Can’t believe nobody has mentioned the obvious choice: Izzy Stradlin

Chuck | 4/5/2008, 12:57 am EST

Whitifield Crane or Walt Lafty…What better do they have to do???

anonymous | 4/5/2008, 1:50 am EST

axl rose….get over it! For us in an American Democracy we want G ‘N R back…. get your shit together and rock out!!!!

nathan | 4/5/2008, 2:06 am EST

travis meaks from days of the new

Eric | 4/5/2008, 2:30 am EST

Look. I love Chris Cornell, but his latest career moves haven’t been the best. I think joining another band would do some good for him, and I would love to see him as the frontman for VR.

Shannon Rena Wilson | 4/5/2008, 2:30 am EST

What about the singer from Cinderella?

McMetz | 4/5/2008, 3:05 am EST

I think Mike Patton would be amazing, also Josh Todd has an amazing vocal talent, however I’ll pass on chris cornell as everything he touches seems to turn to a steaming pile!

Anonymous | 4/5/2008, 3:15 am EST

Joshua Todd is the guy! Phil Anselmo cant sing

nitch | 4/5/2008, 3:57 am EST

get biff naked…make it interesting…no more cliched singers

Sammy Hagar | 4/5/2008, 4:11 am EST

SAMMY HAGAR!!!!!

saytre | 4/5/2008, 4:18 am EST

how about Leif garrett? Or Corey Feldman
I heard him on the gong show.

bfsongs | 4/5/2008, 5:30 am EST

Eric dover!!! Eric Dover!!! He did a great job with Slash’s Snakepit!!!

DAve | 4/5/2008, 5:37 am EST

Chris Cornell for VR…. audioslave were magic

Christine | 4/5/2008, 5:41 am EST

Give me a break on the Cornell dis, not only is he still making music he’s on his twentieth year of doing so. He’s part of a few strong true music survivors. Any one who loves music will accept change whether it’s bad or good but as long as it’s different. So to sum things up Chris Cornell is too good for a second choice any way!

PattyS | 4/5/2008, 5:48 am EST

Chris Cornell can sing circles around everyone on your list(including weiland)!
Get your facts straight,Audioslave didnt kick him out, he left. I suppose you had to throw a lil negativity in your article so it wouldn’t be so boring..You failed.

Dan | 4/5/2008, 6:03 am EST

I’d have to go with Cornell myself, I can’t really think of anyone else not currently in a band that would fit in with the VR aesthetic.

matt | 4/5/2008, 6:06 am EST

chris cornell is the good one..i think he only the only person can sing all the contraband and libertad album.the the others they cannot fit with all revolver album

Jill | 4/5/2008, 7:05 am EST

If Cornell wanted to be in a band, he would still be with Audioslave.
Cut the crap.

woody | 4/5/2008, 8:31 am EST

Rod Jackson!!!!!

Jimi | 4/5/2008, 8:59 am EST

Chris Cornell definitely. Funny Because i was driving home thinking that Chris Cornell would be awesome in VR.

Anonymous | 4/5/2008, 9:12 am EST

Pointless really debating who would suit singing for them, they’ve probably already got someone lined up, even if they are saying they are searching….

Rob | 4/5/2008, 9:25 am EST

Maybe they should go with an unknown. Cornell would not be a good fit unless VR really stretched out from the sound they established on their first couple of albums. A new name/face would give fans a chance to like someone that they have no history either liking or disliking, and could go a long way to keeping VR a stable lineup. Then again, there’s always a chance of a GNR reunion, which would put VR on hiatus until the next GNR implosion. Regardless, tough shoes to fill. Love him or hate him, Weiland is a unique entertainer…real high energy. The songs are pretty easy to sing, but bringing that 100mph energy every night is not.

Skidplate | 4/5/2008, 9:31 am EST

Frank (AKA) Mr. Safety!

Mr. Patton's Lawyer | 4/5/2008, 9:42 am EST

Mike Patton would be perfect. Listen to “Angel Dust” by FNM, tell me the guy couldn’t do it and do it better than anyone on the afforementioned list.

Steel Dragon in Texas | 4/5/2008, 9:47 am EST

Jeff Scott Soto since he is not doing the Journey thing would be AWESOME!!

Scott Stapp would be interesting, would definitely keep the super group vibe.

Brett Hestla from Dark New Day/Virgos Merlot/Creed bass guy. Since Clint decided to go back to the mighty and truly one of the best bands on earth, Sevendust then give this guy a shot.

Cornell has sucked since the disbanding of Soundgarden, first Audioslave album was good, but rest sucked.

Bach needs to re-join Skid Row and rock our faces off.

Phil Anselmo would rock, but Down kills, and honestly would rather see Vinnie and Rex with him than Slash and Matt Sorum and co.

Nameless | 4/5/2008, 9:51 am EST

Mike Patton had already been asked to sing for VR before Scott Weiland, and he turned them down, so am sure they wouldn’t ask him again, since they’d just be turned down again.

Steve | 4/5/2008, 10:02 am EST

This guy rips a mean “You Could Be Mine” http://www.myspace.com/georgesteckert band

MR music | 4/5/2008, 10:10 am EST

Gavin Rossdale

Anonymous | 4/5/2008, 10:19 am EST

It will be cool if GnR come back together. All their concerts will be sold out

Joe | 4/5/2008, 10:22 am EST

Deep down there’s nothing more that Slash wants then to be with axl and gnr again(read his book, it’s obvious. It’s ashame that’s all the guy really wanted from the get go. To rock out with his old bandmates! Good luck VR! SINGERS!!!!!

Snoop | 4/5/2008, 10:47 am EST

Snoop dog

Monteh | 4/5/2008, 10:54 am EST

Phil Anselmo? Did you listen to VR at all? LOL.

ChrisUk | 4/5/2008, 11:13 am EST

Josh Todd would be a great choice. Same sort of wavelengh, lifestlye, similar vocal style and image and he lives in LA. I quite like Buckcherry but Id much rather sacrifice them and have VR continue their career. VR actually auditioned Todd originally and he only narrowly lost out to Weiland. Im certain theyll give him a call.

Charles Crossley, Jr. | 4/5/2008, 12:04 pm EST

Errrr, Axl Rose, Paul Rodgers, Sammy Hagar, David Lee Roth, Todd Rundgren, Ian Astbury, Phil Anselmo, Dave Mustaine, Bruce Dickinson, Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan, Eddie Vedder, Lenny Kravitz, Gwen Stafani, Vanilla Ice. . . .

Seriously, I can’t think of anyone more qualified than Chris Cornell. So, he’s my real choice for this list.

SSt | 4/5/2008, 12:43 pm EST

Give Scott Stapp a chance!!! Though Cornell sounds great too;)

Jeo | 4/5/2008, 12:48 pm EST

Scott Stapp definitely!!!

Sarah | 4/5/2008, 12:52 pm EST

Rick Astley.

gc | 4/5/2008, 1:45 pm EST

chris cornell is WAY too good to be in velvet revolver

chris | 4/5/2008, 2:08 pm EST

Actually Velvet Revolver was a good band but Weilands constant screaming became irritating on some songs.. First album was good the second one was toned down with the use of an STP producer.Still was more of a rock album then your stupid nickelback, creed, greenday, cali fornicatin garbage.. Nice just to hear a guitar solo since all guitarists today suck big time..Get Billy Idol sing for VR or Cornell..Have a nice day!!!!!

Starfront Inc. | 4/5/2008, 2:16 pm EST

Jesse Kinch,a perfect fit!

hogie | 4/5/2008, 2:36 pm EST

who cares about VR lets get a GNR reunion tour. Forget Chinese Democ scrap it and record a recored after the reunion tour

hogie | 4/5/2008, 2:37 pm EST

oops mispelled record

VancouverAndy | 4/5/2008, 2:48 pm EST

VR’s new singer should be the guy from Fine young Cannibals

Sallah | 4/5/2008, 2:57 pm EST

Attn Rock & Roll Daily,

First of all get your facts straight! Chris Cornell left Audioslave for creative differences. He doesn’t need them. He didn’t cash in on American Idol. Cornell fans like me thought he was being discredited on national t.v., so we commented on his page and he understood why we were upset. Chris Cornell is an amazing singer and doesn’t need to stoop so low as to front a band like Velvet Revolver. Thankgod Scott Weiland got out when he did.
Cornell is doing just fine as a solo artist and the only band he should ever go back to should be “Soundgarden”. Maybe Slash should work on some new guitar riffs while on VR hiatus.

Mime's The Word... | 4/5/2008, 3:39 pm EST

Marcell Marceau.

Seriously, did anyone really like Velvet Revolver? They were like Mad Season(Look it up). The parts were more than what they added it up to.

Tookus | 4/5/2008, 4:33 pm EST

How about Hannah Montana? She’s very popular now.

Anonymous | 4/5/2008, 5:14 pm EST

William Hung. He has a tremendous voice and the stage presence to match.

ERT | 4/5/2008, 5:17 pm EST

Hagar or bach would be awesome but slash said they did work with someone in the UK so i would say Ian Gillan-amazing in deep purple and sabbath(born again is so underrated)

Metalliholic85 | 4/5/2008, 7:51 pm EST

I love Chris Cornell and think he likes doing his own thing better anyway.

I can’t wait to see who the new singer will be.

edward | 4/5/2008, 8:04 pm EST

Kelly Schaffer. Or even better let Duff sing lead

tar heel | 4/5/2008, 8:20 pm EST

Cornell is too good for this band. David Coverdale, maybe?

Long Storm | 4/5/2008, 8:36 pm EST

I CHECKED HIM OUT-HE IS AS ADVERTISED. THIS KID ROCKS! JESSE KINCH,JESSE KINCH,-LOOK HIM UP,HES EVEYWHERE!

stereodumb | 4/5/2008, 9:11 pm EST

Corey Glover ex-living colour.
the guy has an amazing voice and he’s a great songwriter.

Jeremy | 4/5/2008, 9:24 pm EST

they should bring back Axl and Izzy so then it would actually matter….if not david lee roth, eric dover or bach

Kinda Ready | 4/5/2008, 9:49 pm EST

Don’t care. They suck.

ITMS MUSIC | 4/5/2008, 9:55 pm EST

Jesse Kinch with Slash- that’s a rockin band!!!

papi | 4/5/2008, 10:13 pm EST

they should do what INXS did and find some unknown fucker off the streets it would be better than all the washed up talent they have to choose form now … i’m talkin’ cornel

or what would be good is a talented female lead singer to kill it idk

or what would be even more badass Jack White. I would be his third side project and most likely the world would explode

Skeptic Believer | 4/5/2008, 10:36 pm EST

Had to check out this kid Jesse.I said holy!? This kid is all rock, a rare breed, no bubblegum like others his age, He’s right up there with a young Slash, or any other legend that was born to rock. How freaky it would be to have this 13 year old in VR? F?!! Awesome!!!

RayC | 4/5/2008, 10:45 pm EST

For someone who writes for Rolling Stone, you would think he would have his facts straight. Apparently, he feels the need to blow wind out his rectum. Chris Cornell has been dynamic over the years and left Audioslave to pursuit personal career interests. Like it was posted before me, Soundgarden would be the ONLY fit for this rock legend. And it’s going to be awesome to see him touring with Linkin Park this summer.

boatman | 4/5/2008, 11:34 pm EST

Chris Cornell has a good voice but lousy lyrics. Stapp is a religious idiot. Maybe Rossdale is the best choice.

Anonymous | 4/5/2008, 11:41 pm EST

I never really liked velvet revolver to much i found wielands vocals way to hard to understand in alot of songs and thought the playing was kind of all over the place. They need a new singer that has a really strong, clear, focused voice.

JustMe! | 4/5/2008, 11:51 pm EST

Patton is God.. Patton Patton Patton He is the man!

Balls Mahoney | 4/6/2008, 12:04 am EST

Richard Patrick. Or, if that does not work:

SCOTT WEILAND!!! Bring him back!!

Johnny | 4/6/2008, 12:49 am EST

Duff should sing! But his band LOADED is already working on a new record.

Anti-RS-League | 4/6/2008, 1:50 am EST

More like Cornell didn’t want Audioslave. NOT the other way around!

God the Rolling Stone is an arrogant piece of gutter-trash. I wouldn’t even wipe my a** with it!

Netslider | 4/6/2008, 5:21 am EST

Haters, haters, haters. Weiland is an amazing singer and his contribution to his craft has been stagering. My vote is to bring him back and have both bands.Since this obviously won’t happen, my vote goes to anyone that prevents VR from sounding 80s as I have always considered them to sound very present and relevent. And although I like most of Cornell’s work,he oversings and I dont think this would compliment Slash but I could be wrong. Whoever said Plant could be on to an interesting and impossible experiment that could keep us from the most anticipated reunion ever…

Sherry | 4/6/2008, 7:31 am EST

Chris Cornell would be the best lead singer for ANY band, but….after the first Audioslave album I didn’t like the production on the other albumns; you couldn’t hear his voice, just distortion. SO, if VR could keep him front and center, I say, go for it. He’s the best singer in rock.

KerryKingsBarber | 4/6/2008, 8:03 am EST

John Bush. His range is similar to Weiland but his voice is more muscular and powerful. I think it would be a great move.

Abbey | 4/6/2008, 9:03 am EST

… I don’t know who from those Sunset Strip Hair Metal days is not doing nothing ?!? Axl Rose ? Guns’n'Roses hasn’t done dick in
decades. LA Guns Michael Jagosz ?
Sebastian Bach of Skid Row ? Rock City Angels Singer Bobby Durango ? You know while man sits and silently contemplates his place in universe, I know if there is true and kind loving God, the guys in Velvet Revolver would give it to that guy. Guns’n'Roses only got big because their label drop his band from being sponsor like they promise because people the world didn’t need two Rock City Angels. Things aren’t special and will not sell as well when there’s already two of them at it ! Velvet Revolver should so give to that guy Bobby Durango dudes !!! Who the hell else ?!? Mr Big’s Eric Martin ? Bullet Boys Marq Torien ? Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy ? Roxx Gang Kevin Steele ? Jason Mc Master Dangerous Toys ? How about my Ex- Boyfriend, Angel Mc Auley from Wolfblitzen, New Zealand’s only fully formed hardcore rock band ? You know while I’ll sitting here and listing unbelievably obscure rock bands, I’m putting him in there …

trent | 4/6/2008, 11:18 am EST

weiland was awesome. i think he prevented vr from being just an 80ties revival band. i really have to say that there is no future for vr. cornell as a leadsinger would be a waste of talent. despite this there will be a 3rd vr album. but regardless of the new leadsinger the album is going to be a flop. finally it will come to an gnr reunion for a world tour. believe me that’s the future.it’s inescapalbe.
and i’m looking foward to the new filter, chris cornell and stp albums. :)

Sallah | 4/6/2008, 11:22 am EST

Chris Cornell needs no one. He’s headlining Projeckt Revolution this summer with Linkin Park and releasing his 3rd solo album this year. Soundgarden should be the only band to reunite. So “fuck” Velvet Revolver they fuckin’ sucked. Scott Weiland knew that and that’s why he left. STP all the way.

Anonymous | 4/6/2008, 2:04 pm EST

here is a list of some possibilities:

Lou Gramm (ex Foreigner)
Sebastian Bach (ex Skid Row)
Max Cavalera (ex Sepultura)
John Bush (ex Armoured Saint)
Joey Belladonna ( Ex Anthrax)

Besically, what they need is someone who is an “ex singer” from a megaloid band in order for it to work, otherwise, they are a glorified Bar Band.

It’s sad, but true. Even if they made a recording that eclipsed “Appetite for Destruction,” no one would care. Hey, thats rock n’ roll …

bones | 4/6/2008, 2:54 pm EST

it’s heartbreaking, weiland and the boys made me feel sixteen again, and spliting up is almost like a death in the family.lead singer who’s next? who’s available and who’s qualified for the job, as a singer chris cornell does come to mind same age, same reputation and definetly a
the of voice of rock, but the whole thing about about vr were these gods of rock raising from the ashes and rocking us once again, it has to be someone new someone fresh. don’t retire yet lads please god

Ted | 4/6/2008, 3:21 pm EST

Chris Cornell is the best voice in rock, but HE left Audioslave because he grew tired of the compromises that come with being in a band. So that won’t happen. It’s too bad Weiland and the guys couldn’t work it out, because Libertad was a great album – was hoping for more from them.
I was listening to some STP this weekend, and while I always liked them, the musicianship and songwriting of VR is/was way stronger.
Anyway, the guy from Buckcherry gets my vote.

Pedro | 4/6/2008, 4:25 pm EST

I think these are the same names that sounded before the proyect started, so they come to mind first: Josh Todd (from Buckcherry)would be my favorite candidate.
- On 2nd place, travis meeks.
- Cris robinson just started again with black crowes, so he wouldn’t.
- Patton wouldn’t accept, wish he would.
- Phil Anselmo’s ego would crush the band in no time, if the backstabber decides to make some music with them.
- cris cornell will win this poll; gary cherone is an option, and even though his bad decition of having a carreer on t.v,Sebastian Bach would rock.
- the best option would be to choose an ambitious kid who’s not a star.

Kataliz | 4/6/2008, 4:29 pm EST

Izzy would be my choice

Pedro | 4/6/2008, 4:49 pm EST

I’ve come with a salomonic solution: Jimmy Page toured with black crowes, cris robinson got together so he’s unavailable. Everyone expects a Zepelin world tour, so… yes, everyone would applause and respect VR with Robert Plant.

reality_star | 4/6/2008, 5:34 pm EST

This is a golden opportunity for the great Reality Show “Rock Star” to come back! I loved that show.

D MAJOR/SUFFOLK | 4/6/2008, 6:03 pm EST

Funny the show ROCKSTAR was mentioned because i looked up that kid Jesse Kinch and he has performed with both Lukas Rossi and Ryan STAR from ROCKSTAR SUPERNOVA.You can see those performances on his website,That boy brings it!!!I agree,he is capable.

i think it should be an unknown singer, it would freshen things up. with all these names that are being thrown around it just feels like some inbred community, that’s why rock is dying! reviving it doesn’t take reviving the same dinosaurs that have stood the test of time, it takes new blood! let established artists evolve the way they should, not get stuck doing the same thing just because it’s profitable for the record companies.

mommyrocker | 4/6/2008, 11:10 pm EST

Sad to see that Rolling Stone is way off base with their Cornell facts, as stated in many posts above. Cornell is very happy where he is in his career and has stated he has no desire to be in a band situation. He is willing to reach outside of his safe zone and try new things for the fun of it, at he is lucky enough to be successful enough to do what he wants. Best wished to VR and to S.W in all pursuits. Lord know writing like this makes it hard to put an honest spin on what’s going on….sad to see rolling stone go the way of unresearched writing.

What’s with this “Jesse Kinch” stuff?

If VR do a record of old cover songs he’d be good. Maybe. But there’s better. Wait until after he’s done with puberty and his voice fully develops…in like 6 years.

I think they should bring in Axel Rose. Make one album with him and see how it goes…I think that’d be great for them.

ariosito | 4/7/2008, 8:12 am EST

Supporting all the proposers of Jesse Kinch. I am a 60s survivor and performers like this come once a decade, or maybe once a generation. Terrific presence, guitar prodigy, daring songwriter. Already has following in England and has never even been here. Only question – are VR good enough to back him.

Sanchez | 4/7/2008, 8:17 am EST

Quick, someone call Dave Navarro we might have a Rockstar: Velvet Revolver on our hands.

-Gag-

Josh | 4/7/2008, 8:37 am EST

They don’t need Scott Staap. They already blow.

Josh | 4/7/2008, 8:39 am EST

BTW, that kid Kinch sucks, too. Stop stumping for him.

Seyhan I | 4/7/2008, 8:40 am EST

My vote is for Sebastian, but here is my list: Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Jani lane (Warrant), John Bush (Anthrax), John Corabi (Union, The Best Motley Album Self Titled), Miljenko Matijevic (Steelheart), Jeff Martin (Tea Party) just imagine!

Chris | 4/7/2008, 9:39 am EST

Chris Cornell!
Listen to Audioslave and you will see what I mean (especially on their debut album)
He ahs the right voice and look for the band

Brussel Sprouts | 4/7/2008, 9:48 am EST

How about that singer from Quiet Riot. I hear he’s dying to sing again.

Anonymous | 4/7/2008, 9:57 am EST

these will be great replacements for Scott Weiland:

(1) Weird Al Yankovic
(2) Corpse of Kurt Cobain
(3) Meatloaf
(4) Hannah Montana
(5) Ruben Studdard

Bill Bailey | 4/7/2008, 9:57 am EST

Finck left Fakegnr and rejoined NIN.

Looks like we’re heading for a GNR reunion ! That would be GREAT !

Antonio | 4/7/2008, 10:01 am EST

well totally should think about Axl Rose because it would be intense(even though it would practically be GUNS n roses all over again) another name to think about is Zack de la Rocha from, i mean velvet revolver totally better than RATM. also look out for chris cornell.

Antonio | 4/7/2008, 10:05 am EST

oh and i almost forgot vince neil from motley crue would be good

Karel | 4/7/2008, 10:16 am EST

Ale Ziel is one of a heg singer

From the band Botswana, Question Mark

Axl | 4/7/2008, 10:27 am EST

They should try to get Axl to join. They could then convince Izzy Stadlin to join and the rename the group The New Originals.

steve | 4/7/2008, 10:42 am EST

There will be no axl rose, have any of u read slash’s book? or any member of vr’s book

GUNS ISNT HAPPENING ANYTIME SOON

Perry Ferrell

venom7 | 4/7/2008, 10:57 am EST

that jesse kinch boy is the one!his cover of cult of personalty on the audio section of his website is breathtaking. the guitar playing and vocal are KILLA!Give the kid the job!-He is the real deal!!!

Edoardo | 4/7/2008, 10:58 am EST

Chris Cornell. that would be hot

Kurt | 4/7/2008, 10:59 am EST

I think it should be Daniel Spence that guy from rivaled.

JohnnyD | 4/7/2008, 12:01 pm EST

Chris Cornell? NO WAY VR is not a BALLAD band!!!!! I loved Soundgarden and all but not a good match.

Come on Slash, you said it before. A fun fit would be Billy Idol. You gotta admit that “Scream” would fit in the set list very nicely. And its a good voice for previous VR songs.

Billy Idol! Billy Idol!

Anonymous | 4/7/2008, 12:06 pm EST

Billy Idol! Billy Idol!

Slash said before he’s one of the top LVs in the business. Cornell is great and all but NOT a good match for VR.

Rick Astley…for both lead singer in VR and for Finck’s replacement in GNR. He can do both he is that talented.

Chris Cornell is here fore banned from all things rock. Let the teenie-boppers have him. The rock community is done with him.

So let it be written…

Dan | 4/7/2008, 12:35 pm EST

there are some great recommendations in the below thread, i.e. al jourgenson, perry farrell and glenn danzig. although, i still think chris robinson is the most realistic choice. it would be great to see duff take the lead vocal on more VR songs but the band still needs a lead singer

GM | 4/7/2008, 12:54 pm EST

John Corabi.

Meatface | 4/7/2008, 12:54 pm EST

What about Ian Thornley formerly of Big Wreck….great voice, great scream too….

mr roboto | 4/7/2008, 1:04 pm EST

Makilia Shamalongadingdong | 4/7/2008, 1:50 pm EST

I agree, Adam Stahl is flippin amazing. He has such a sexual presence on stage!

Remi | 4/7/2008, 2:59 pm EST

What is Adler doing at the moment? :D

But if I had the choice it would be without a doubt: Mr Izzy Stradlin’.

Ernestovez Rodasangradiaz | 4/7/2008, 3:25 pm EST

VR was stupid to get rid of Weiland (the most underrated front man of all time). However, what’s done is done. Here are my choices for new lead singer:

* Bruce Willis
* Matt Taibbi
* Scott Stapp (haha, j/k)
* Clay Aiken
* Johnny Depp (just watch Sweeney Todd … the dude can sing)
* Ricky Martin
* Adam Stahl

or, SCOTT F’N WEILAND!!!!!!

Simba Sangeriabooka | 4/7/2008, 3:30 pm EST

The guy who first fronted Slash’s Snakepit would be decent.

How about that guy from England that they brought over the first go-around to try out. Can’t remember his name but he was on the VH1 show they did.

ossie | 4/7/2008, 3:33 pm EST

Didn’t Cornell quit Audioslave because he was writing all of the music and lyrics and only getting 1/4 of the pay? He’ll never be in a band again unless the members are unknown, quote me on that one. I got that from TMZ so take it for what it’s worth.

Harry McNutz | 4/7/2008, 3:35 pm EST

Seriously … Richard Patrick. The guy was great w/ Army of Anyone (they made a really great album … but no one knows of it).

Richard Patrick!!! Do it Slash!

Silent Kill | 4/7/2008, 3:40 pm EST

OK, so I checked out the Jesse Kinch website to see what all the fuss was about. His videos are surely unique for his age because he does it all.He fronts great, plays and performs great also.Is he too young?-probably so,but this could work cause he is that good!…and you can tell he loves what he is doing and isn’t some boy band jerk that he could probably be if he wanted to sell out.The business needs more kids like him.I also agree with Venom 7′S comment that the Cult Of Personality audio mp3 on his website is masterful stuff especially for his age!…and the video on his website of him performing this song live at 12 years old is captivating for sure. For rock to survive we need more kids like him..Just my opinion!

STARCH | 4/7/2008, 3:42 pm EST

Wasn’t Slash in Hanson?

Nello | 4/7/2008, 3:56 pm EST

Eric the Midget!

Hmm.. What about Sebastian Bach?

nate | 4/7/2008, 4:04 pm EST

they should get sammy hagar

Benny | 4/7/2008, 4:24 pm EST

Slash can join the new lineup of Guns N’ Roses.

Robin Finck is going on tour with Nine Inch Nails. Slash can kiss and makeup with Axl and we can be on our way.

All it takes is Slash to humble out that he’s average without Axl and a phone call apologizing.

How about it gents?

Mitch M. | 4/7/2008, 4:44 pm EST

Seems like we have tunnel vision here. Why not find a singer who’s not so well known but can kick ass!!

esther3 | 4/7/2008, 4:48 pm EST

Chris Cornell is the best singer! Hands down!
But he is more interested in his solo career. BTW – He left Audioslave to pursue a solo career. Get your facts straight before you put it in print.
Good luck to VR on finding a new lead vocalist. I read someone’s comment about Chris Robinson. That sounds like a good match!

mattosborne | 4/7/2008, 4:58 pm EST

Would you people be a little realistic? Robert Plant? Are you kidding? Robert Plant is royalty; He’d never make such a move. He’s more into innovation and change. Chris Cornell won’t do it, he just got out of a supergroup, I’m sure he has no interest in joining another one. The most realisic choice mentioned is probably Josh Todd but, Buckcherry is making a new album so he’s out too. They need somebody fresh and possibly unknown…someone that will modernize their sound like Weiland did. I agree with the post above that it’ll probably flop regardless. Contraband sold over 2 million units, Libertad moved just 288,000. They are on a downward spiral and a new vocalist will most likely continue the downward spiral.

mitch m | 4/7/2008, 4:58 pm EST

i vote for an unknown. ;)

Hoss | 4/7/2008, 5:16 pm EST

I would suggest that maybe VR go in a different direction for a singer. How about Lacey Mosley from Flyleaf? She’s definitely the talent in that band surround by subpar musicians.

Anonymous | 4/7/2008, 5:16 pm EST

Richard Patrick has a sound and attitude and stage presence that would jive real well w/ VR.

Or, in the alternative, how about James Hetfield (as an interim lead singer … until VR realizes they need to bring Weiland back)

Lars Sorum | 4/7/2008, 5:17 pm EST

Mike Patton: The man is a vocal chameleon and can fill the role of Rose, Weiland or anybody else for that matter. Any contract with Velvet Revolver should include an opt-out clause that allows Patton to reunite Mr. Bungle.

This is the bes quote “unquote” RS has ever made. Props!!! He would never join that band though

I have learned a lot about some unknowns reading this blog.. but the most interesting is that kid Jesse kinch , 13? He can definitely rock..Others are cool, but that kid’s videos blew my mind.. Good luck Slash and VR!

warriorwoman | 4/8/2008, 9:46 am EST

My! How snide your remarks on Chris Cornell sound. Personally, I’m curious to see what this new album with Timbaland will sound like. And, personally, I don’t want to see Cornell fronting another band. ESPECIALLY NOT VELVET REVOLVER!!! I like the freedom that going solo gives him to experiment and evolve!!

Remi | 4/8/2008, 1:00 pm EST

Do you guys know Gene Louis, really he’s great and would be an awesome replacement for Scott. He’s currently singing for Bullets And Octanes, also called the new GNR.

MOPA | 4/8/2008, 1:21 pm EST

sw is just a loser smack head !! the little skinny bitch couldnt handle being in a real band – he knew that vr was about the ex guns guys & never about him. i went to the recent vr gig in newcastle (england) & when a guns track was played the crowd went wild & when a stp track was played everyone went for a drink or a piss. so enjoy stp reunion as they probably will get more press & sell more tickets than ever because of slash & co. losers……..
hopefully new vr album will be more like contraband (not a great deal of input from sw) & not like libertad with its more sw influenced sound. !!!!

Annie | 4/8/2008, 1:52 pm EST

What about Huck Johns? He was an original choice but he turned down the job to do his own thing.

seattle head | 4/8/2008, 2:42 pm EST

think that cornell and patton are good choice, and most likely cornell. :) i hope (of course for every gunner) that will be axl, but – impossible… ;(
i chose cornell (amazing voice and very charismatic man)

Kel | 4/8/2008, 3:54 pm EST

Seriously guys, some of these are just plain dumb! Either these people JUST left a group to persue solo careers, or they’re already IN a huge band. Personally, I’m about 99% sure Sebastian Bach will get it because he originally tried out for it and I mean COME ON! Lead singer of Skid Row + Slash = AwEsOmE

A | 4/8/2008, 4:43 pm EST

You’re all miss the only real choices, Ian Astbury or Brett Scallions!

A | 4/8/2008, 4:46 pm EST

The only real choices would be Ian Astbury or Brett Scallions!

Rock The Cradle | 4/8/2008, 5:23 pm EST

I agree with the gentleman from England on an earlier comment. The Jesse Kinch kid is someone quite special and his website validates this for sure. The kid rocks hard, his covers are amazing,if not better than the original artists…and he can bare his soul also, as seen on the song on his website called Anorexia. He appears to be the complete “little” rockstar not just some great 13 -14 year old kid that just is great at playing speed guitar. The truth is the English gentleman is right.Someone like this kid comes along very rarely!Rock needs more like him!

Raul | 4/8/2008, 5:40 pm EST

My guess is that is going to be Sebastian Bach, because he can replace Weiland and Rose, the guy’s got presence and a very versatile voice.

Raul | 4/8/2008, 5:42 pm EST

If i was Slash, i’d hire Sebastian Bach

dm | 4/8/2008, 6:11 pm EST

anyone who’s listened to Slash’s Snakepit knows Eric Dover would be a great choice, he has a cool gritty sort of voice that would be PERFECT and way better than Weiland ever was (i can’t believe how Scott talked down to Sorum, Sorum is a better musician than weiland will ever be

MIke | 4/8/2008, 10:32 pm EST

Walt Lafty- hands down…High energy singer that owns any stage and I’m pretty sure that silvertide aren’t doing anything for awhile with the whole record label bullshit

asfhklf | 4/9/2008, 7:56 am EST

I think Chris Cornell shouldn’t be the one cuz Soundgarden should re unite.

Anonymous | 4/9/2008, 11:39 am EST

Jerry Cantrell.

Jeremy | 4/9/2008, 1:50 pm EST

ok here are the obvious choices…

Eric Dover
Axl Rose
Izzy Stradlin
David Lee Roth
Billy Idol
Sammy Hagar
Sebastion Bach

those are the best choices period

the boss | 4/9/2008, 3:41 pm EST

c’mon boys lets throw m. shadows in the mix he tries to be like axl so much just give him a chance

chief | 4/9/2008, 5:15 pm EST

c’mon guys m. shadows is pretty nasty

samgeletrious | 4/9/2008, 7:50 pm EST

look, axl rose does sound good but hes to much of a baby and if you’ve read slashs book than i think youll understand that slash , duff, nd matt have had enough of that , Oh and his voice has turned to sh!@ and hes already with the new and terrible G n’ R

dmac | 4/9/2008, 9:26 pm EST

Why don’t they get one of those guys who won that ROCKSTAR tv show a couple years ago? I’m sure they’re not doin anything.

dmac | 4/9/2008, 9:51 pm EST

Does anyone think Gwen Stefani would let Gavin Rossdale be the singer of Velvet Revolver? Talk about destroying a happy family. Maybe she should be the lead singer after she squeezes out her next kid

dmac | 4/9/2008, 10:06 pm EST

Zakk F*&Kin Wylde! Him and Slash together…Who needas a true lead singer anyway?

dmac | 4/9/2008, 10:21 pm EST

I can’t believe some of you are mentioning some 13 year old on youtube as a replacement! Im sure he’ll fit right in at the afterparties with the groupies. Maybe they can get Stewie from “Family Guy” if he’s not available.

Rock with out the roll | 4/10/2008, 12:43 am EST

Well I would give my left nut for an audition. Even though it would hurt like a son of a B_tch.

KerryKingsBarber | 4/10/2008, 4:56 am EST

A 13 year-old? Please. Sammy Hagar already ruined one band, why would anyone want him to ruin this one?

The chances of Axl Rose being involved are nil aren’t they? A lot of you guys are mentioning singers of the Axl-ilk, but the reason that they didn’t hire Sebastian Bach in the first place was because he sounded too much like Axl (i.e. a screamer) so I’m guessing they won’t be hiring him (even if he is awesome.) That also discounts Eric Drover, John Corabi, Jani Lane and the dude from Cinderella.
Seems like the reason they hired Weiland was because they didn’t want to be a GNR#2, so I’m guessing the next singer will be close to Weiland in range and style. Ian Astbury would be cool, but he’s still in the Cult so that’s not going to happen. Billy Idol sounds like a really good idea to me, very similar range to Weiland. I’m also still sticking by my call for John Bush!

Anonymous | 4/10/2008, 6:26 am EST

Axls ego is too huge for this band
izzy straddlin cant sing
Sebastion Bach is in Axls pocket so he wont get the gig
Chris cornell would be my pick

AxlHater. | 4/10/2008, 12:51 pm EST

Axl Rose and Phil Anselmo should DEFINITELY be counted out. I will be SO pissed if they choose either one.

enzo | 4/10/2008, 7:00 pm EST

CHRIS CORNELL……….

Gilgy | 4/10/2008, 11:26 pm EST

Did somebody just mention M.Shadows? That would be very interesting indeed, except that it might be impossible at this point.

I saw a Camp Freddy vid Slash jamming with Chester Bennington. Think that would work?

Bach would be a good choice, but I just couldn’t imagine him belting out Slither….

Eric Dover is great too…

But then again, being a huge fan of VR since its conception, I guess any singer (even unknown ones) would do, as long as the songs kick ass.

ps: good luck to VR. May you guys keep on rocking.

stockyjesus | 4/11/2008, 12:41 pm EST

John Corabi, I think. He wasn’t right for Motley but that was only because no-one, but NO-ONE could replace Vince Neil. For Velvet Revolver, who were actually pretty poor before Weiland, Corabi could be the right move.

Anonymous | 4/11/2008, 2:29 pm EST

I think the best choice (sound, talent, appeal, presence, hit songs) is Jerry Cantrell. Scott Lucas from Local H sounds a bit like Weiland, and would be a good personality match for the group. Chris Cornell would be great, but we’d be trying to find them a new front-man again in a year. Lenny Kravitz would be fun to see on stage beside Slash (similar backgrounds). I also like Brett Scallions (Fuel), Art Alexakis (Everclear), Matt Keith (Moons Over Mars), and Daniel Johns (Silverchair).

Dom | 4/11/2008, 9:46 pm EST

What about Rod Jackson, he sang in Slash’s Snakepit

Anonymous | 4/12/2008, 2:37 pm EST

Change the band’s name from VR to Snakepit and have Rod Jackson on vocals.

Lisa Rocker | 4/12/2008, 4:47 pm EST

Kevin Jones from Rattleface would be a fierce frontman for Velvet Revolver !! He’s got it all and almost sang for Slash’s Snakepit years ago !

Anonymous | 4/12/2008, 7:15 pm EST

jerry cantrell joined the band as of today.. there goes this discussion

kurko04 | 4/12/2008, 8:41 pm EST

i think izzy stradlin would be the right one to replace scott…he sings good and he is an exellent musician

Dennis | 4/13/2008, 3:04 am EST

They should hold an open casting like Slash did right before hiring Weiland for this group. I think I still have the address from when I sent him my demo for the gig :)

Nick | 4/13/2008, 9:25 am EST

Geoff Tate would be awesome. You know, from Queensryche.

DK | 4/13/2008, 10:34 am EST

Corey Taylor would be amazing.
I mean, he’s already in 2 bands, but he considered Anthrax, right?
It’s not gonna happen tho, so id choose the brilliant Chris Cornell.
I mean, alot of people disagree, but he was the first person who came to me as a good replacement.
Id also be happy with Josh Todd, but thats not gonna happen bein as Buckcherry have reunited. I love Buckcherry, but Velvet Revolver come first and so id happily see him leave for VR.
Im still gutted Scott left!
Alot of people hated him, but I think he’s amazing!
This Jesse Kinch kid, get real. He’s 14! Same age as me! And even if he did join (which wud be the stupidest thing ever), his ego wud probs get over-blown with all the early fame. we don’t need another Axl!
Sebastian Bach is good, bt they’d be too GN’R-ish if he joined.

Look at it this way | 4/13/2008, 6:13 pm EST

Ok, if Axl sings:

He pisses off everyone

Bach: Voice doesn’t fit band

Patton:WTF

Cornell: A good choice, his voice IS grunge, Soundgarden was the first real grunge band. Also, if Revolver slowed up just a bit, Cornell would do well.

Velvet Revolver has a problem of having a lot of not good songs

Cornell could fix that

BTW, Cornell left Audioslave because all 4 members were getting credit for writing his songs. So, hopefully, it happens

Also, he HAS to be easier to work with than Axl or Scott…..

Kingalobar | 4/13/2008, 9:14 pm EST

I always thought William Whitfield Crane from Ugly Kid Joe…the guy has got the grit in his voice and attitude in his look to fit VR. And he’s about the same age too.

Kingalobar | 4/13/2008, 9:16 pm EST

I always thought Whitfield Crane from Ugly Kid Joe…the guy’s got the grit in the voice and the attitude in the look to fit VR. And he’s the same age with all members more or less.

nabil | 4/14/2008, 12:03 pm EST

Josh Todd from buckcherry

Mike | 4/17/2008, 2:11 pm EST

Hey get Duff to sing vocals, hes the next one up to be able to sing. Unless someone can find a better singer? Bach blows, hey chris cornell wouldn’t be a bad choice either.

Steve | 4/17/2008, 4:32 pm EST

Dover! Dover! That Snakepit album kicked ass.Gritty vocals that encompassed psycho rock, soulful blues and ballads. That’s all ya need Slasher and co.Failing that a bit of Rod Jackson.Again a s**t hot versatile vocalist.Failing that get that club tour in a bus on the go with Mr Izzy Stradlin! As for Cornell don’t make me laugh. He’s a nice boy and as they say he DON’T play Rock N Roll.

Jinx | 4/18/2008, 11:47 am EST

Izzy Stradlin would be great for the song writing (he is responsable for some of GNR greatest songs) and I think that Sebastian Bach is the right choice for singer. Cornell is amesome but he doesn´t fit in the style of VR. Ian Astbury kick ass too.

bones | 4/18/2008, 8:11 pm EST

as an irish rocker poor old lizzy and gallagher are not here to fit the bill my only answer is “the answer” cormac neeson has the heart and talent for the job.

drivebyrachko | 4/18/2008, 10:18 pm EST

Chris Cornell could do it very well, but he just wouldn’t fit, I thought it was a stretch to jam him into Audioslave with the Rage guys, but with VR? C’mon… it would be a mess.

Mike Patton could work, but I think he might have trouble getting a clean sound with his voice like Weiland did.

VR isn’t dark enough for Trent Reznor.

Maynard James Keenan would be the best if he wasn’t already in Tool.

The only people who could fit the bill would be either Sebastian Bach or Josh Todd, either of them would be an excellent successor to Weiland.

ringo | 4/19/2008, 2:08 am EST

keith foti would be great

ringo | 4/19/2008, 2:08 am EST

Nemanja_22Hard Roll | 4/19/2008, 9:36 pm EST

Lenny Kravitz would be great!

Ryan | 4/22/2008, 8:24 pm EST

If Bach joined the band, i would destroy Contraband and Libertad…That dude is incredibly over rated.

femg | 4/22/2008, 9:07 pm EST

the greatest replacement for Scott:

both Izzy Stradlin and Sebastian Bach join VR together

owenstar | 4/23/2008, 6:15 pm EST

Mike Patton, he rocks….Someone said he hates GNR, I am pretty sure he was close with the guys at one point…faith no more toured with them a lot….He is probably the best choice

Josh todd….I know he is considered an Axl clone, but damn if he doesnt rock….I wish I had the recordings they did with him…he was in the mix the first time…and he is way better than weiland

Billy Idol…cause it would be a fun time

Chris Cornell…it probably sounds better on paper…but who knows…

Izzy isnt a front man….a band of this size needs a name, or someone with mega vocals….he aint it

What should really happen is GnR come back…Axl/slash/Duff making music again is lights out

mofo | 4/23/2008, 11:07 pm EST

keith foti or bust!

JIMMY | 4/24/2008, 3:46 pm EST

ME!!

enrique eduardo | 4/26/2008, 12:43 pm EST

i truly believe that prince, or they should really mix it up and make a huge bang in the rock seen and introduce there new singer as….get ready for this Garth brooks you might think its weird but he was originally saposta to be with velvet revolver at the start but he joined a small band names acdc u might no them or if they realy need enyone they can pick me up im the biggest thing out of Italy right now!!! call me up ive sent a demo already!!

Anonymous | 4/27/2008, 7:26 pm EST

TheFullBoat | 4/29/2008, 1:31 am EST

mofo is right Keith Foti or bust!

JJ | 4/29/2008, 1:36 am EST

Cornell is great, but Mojo is right Keith Foti is the way to go.

KK | 5/5/2008, 3:24 pm EST

Phil? for VR… not enough hate! i can phil with the Knots maskmen but not as VR…

throw in scott stapp for VR i’m sure he’ll fit right in, sure he’s got some material that’s itching to get out…

richie | 5/5/2008, 11:50 pm EST

it really is too bad that scott left but stone temple pilots were great and its cool to seem them back together velvet revolver deserved a new singer this could be a good opporunitiy for them josh todd would soudn sick, chris cornell a great singer, but not what i have in mind im thinking sebastian bach though overatted would sound nice my ultimate dream would be to have the whole guns reunite that would be amazing you know just for one last time give what rock and roll is lacking in recent times

jeff | 5/8/2008, 11:03 pm EST

ted nugent dam it ted nugent.bach is a drunk didnt you watch supper group ?

jeff | 5/9/2008, 3:34 pm EST

Christina Aguilera

stebbins | 5/12/2008, 8:21 pm EST

whoever said that izzy stradlin isnt a front man can suk my balls !! izzy would be the perfect choice for velvet revolver . i’ve gone to 2 vr shows and they were both complete gnr vibe vs stp … izzy wrote mr. brownstone for christ’s sake … either izzy , or me!!!!!

derek | 5/13/2008, 11:11 pm EST

screw axl rose
screw sebastion bach
It should be trent reznor

Mike | 5/18/2008, 10:58 pm EST

I know is a stretch but Zach Wilde would be kick a$s.

Craig | 5/19/2008, 5:40 am EST

Justin Hawkins…

Haha, would be epic

brad | 5/19/2008, 7:08 am EST

jeff scott soto all the way !!!!

jeremy | 5/19/2008, 9:44 am EST

ok, Axl is probably not going to do it cuz he hates slash, but Izzy Stardlin and slash go along way back,if not izzy then these are the choices

Billy Idol
Zakk Wylde
Sebastion bach
Eric Dover
David Lee Roth

Insert Name Here | 5/20/2008, 10:35 pm EST

Axl. Even though he hates slash, it would be kinda kool. VR only has like 3 good songs and I think Axls awesome voice will fix that. If not…….Chuck Norris?

Chelsea | 5/21/2008, 3:32 pm EST

I heard Slash on 106.7 he said there are a few good singers theym like and some we may have never heard of like Jason Miller from GODHEAD and Tim “Ripper” Owens

They need a new voice not a weiland impersonator!

Teddy Rugspin | 5/21/2008, 4:38 pm EST

I hear a rumour they’re gonna go with a complete unknown guy from the UK. I have the name but legally cannot say except initials are NS

Joe | 5/21/2008, 4:41 pm EST

I heard a similar piece of info too. Apparantly NS has already jammed with them whne they hit the UK

Alice (UK) | 5/21/2008, 4:45 pm EST

If it’s who I think it is then he’s hot! I hope it’s true

Alice (UK) | 5/21/2008, 4:45 pm EST

If it’s who I think it is then he’s hot! I hope it’s true

Velvet Fan | 5/21/2008, 4:49 pm EST

I think an Enlgish accent would be a cool addition to VR. Anythings better than Axl’s poor attempt on Spaghetti Incident!

Axl's left nut | 5/21/2008, 5:21 pm EST

Can I mention my new album is out soon. Maybe. No. Yes, erm perhaps?

MIKE | 5/22/2008, 5:15 am EST

VR need an unknown guy, checkout DIAMOND HEAD from the UK, their front guy is awesome. Saw them on youtube a link from Metallica’s ‘Am I Evil’ they share a past or apparently.

I claudius | 5/22/2008, 5:57 pm EST

I think I know the guy you’re talking about. The NS dude though wsan’t in diamond head, I dont think any of his bands were even signed. All i know is, he’d be a perfect fit. Not Scott, Not Axl but a whole other attraction

chris | 5/24/2008, 10:05 am EST

has anyone thought about gilby clarke??????

Steve | 5/26/2008, 9:52 am EST

So there isn’t anyone that wants to give up what the “NS” stands for? Come on somebody has to crack….

Hardrocks Anthem | 5/26/2008, 7:49 pm EST

Was on you tube the other day and saw this 13 year old kid Jesse Kinch doing a cover of Pantera’s Walk-It totally kicks ass!!!This kid is 13 going on 30.Shit he is the one!!!He also has a website where I saw him performing with 2 of the Rockstar Supernova guys.I could see him an Slash doing some good shit together.

Teddy Rugspin | 5/27/2008, 4:19 am EST

I know who NS is. He’s a close friend of mine. I’m please for him about being in the mix but don’t want to blow it for him by dropping his name in case he’s jinxed. Just thought I’d share the news

MIKE | 5/28/2008, 5:19 pm EST

It’s not NS it’s NT…Nick Tart

VR | 5/28/2008, 7:54 pm EST

TRENT reznor all the way that would be a sweet combo

jason | 5/28/2008, 10:17 pm EST

Cornell would be great, but i think Andrew Stockdale (Wolfmother) wouldn’t be a bad choice.

jason | 5/28/2008, 10:17 pm EST

Anonymous | 5/29/2008, 7:39 am EST

Justin Hawkins!

fran | 5/29/2008, 2:54 pm EST

another thing…WHAT THE FUCK YOU KNOW ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP OF AXL AND SLASH, YOU AMATEURS…. DON`T TALK SHIT… GUNS AND ROSES WAS THE BEST BAND EVER.. IF THEY COME BACK, WILL BE A TOTALLY SUCCES

Toni | 6/1/2008, 5:27 pm EST

Wow,an unknown, Nick Tart from the UK has a tremendous voice, aparentley he joined Diamond Head in 04, yes a perfect fit,I saw them open for Thin Lizzy last year and got blown away, great stage presence, i came away from the gig with the new CD and the Vox are amazing,he looks a lot younger than the rest of DH,he would fit better with VR

Billy | 6/2/2008, 3:44 am EST

I have seen Nick Tarts name mentioned before, but I have Never heard his voice, I must check him out.

Teddy Rugspin | 6/2/2008, 3:11 pm EST

Neverheard Nick tart but my source tells me it’s definitely NS

MMAMetalhead | 6/2/2008, 11:21 pm EST

No way would i want to see phil anselmo in VR. what he said about dimebag was inexcusable and it lead to dime being shot. he’ll just get slash shot too.

MMAMetalhead | 6/2/2008, 11:21 pm EST

No way would i want to see phil anselmo in VR. what he said about dimebag was inexcusable and it lead to dime being shot. he’ll just get slash shot too.

Reclayman | 6/3/2008, 11:17 pm EST

Marq Torien (Bulletboys) or London LaGrand would both be a great fit for VR!

ben | 6/4/2008, 8:27 am EST

reznor has more talent in his litle finger than the whole of VR ever had

Terry | 6/16/2008, 6:08 am EST

no brainer Ripper owens

Anonymous | 6/21/2008, 4:39 am EST

Sam Serinsky from Lasting Factor tears shit up. Seriously VR needs to check his shit out

Angel Delcid | 6/23/2008, 5:27 pm EST

I think if it was a choice of a famous singer and not new talent i would go with Trent Reznor and Chris Cornell. Those are the only people i see.

Angel Delcid | 6/23/2008, 5:29 pm EST

i would mostly recommend trent reznor or chris cornell

Boston | 7/6/2008, 2:09 am EST

I’d like to see either Chris or Axl..and yeah if Axl came back then give dizzy a call too..but like matt sorum, said Axl was a dick but he sold out..Weiland was a dick that didnt even fill out the seats..

Dave Venerdi | 8/1/2008, 1:21 pm EST

How ’bout Sebastian Bach??i heard a last couple years ago before scott weiland joined the VR,Bach was came for the audition by duff n slash.i think Bach would be a great choice.

Eze Doll | 8/1/2008, 4:06 pm EST

MICHAEL MATIJEVIK ! MICHAEL MATIJEVIK !

wes | 8/2/2008, 10:49 am EST

what about Travis Meeks from Days of the New? i think his voice would fit the band well.

Rob | 8/3/2008, 11:30 am EST

Glad to see Justin Hawkins name in there….i think he’d be a top pick!

G-STER | 8/11/2008, 1:31 pm EST

Ian Astbury, with the Cult off Roadrunner now and not that much activity going on. Born Into This was a great album but not that successful. I went twice on that tour and Astbury was on fire. Listen to Dirty Little Rockstar, Ian could take VR to the next level, only issue is l don’t want to see him split from Duffy

521 | 8/11/2008, 1:42 pm EST

Robert Plant, Chris Cornell or Dan Aurbach from the black keys

leftcoaster | 8/12/2008, 11:08 am EST

I like the thought of Ian Thornley taking over as frontman. But would 604 Records give him up?

jeff | 8/12/2008, 12:56 pm EST

its lenny kravitz

sal | 8/22/2008, 3:37 am EST

Axl Rose. It has to happen. How about stopping the drugs, acting like mature adults and reunite GNR, tour, Make 3 albums and call it a career.

Andre | 8/23/2008, 2:08 pm EST

Come ooooooon Chris Cornell; best rock vocalist out there.

BillyJack | 8/25/2008, 10:09 pm EST

What about Bonz, former front man of Stuck Mojo. Through some funk up in the metal. Amazing vocals and stage presence like no other.

BillyJack | 8/25/2008, 10:09 pm EST

Search “George Steckert” on youtube

Anonymous | 8/31/2008, 2:27 pm EST

Check this guy out on youtube, Mark Lee, doing Slither and Fall To Pieces, VR needs new blood.

billy joe hurricane | 9/10/2008, 7:13 pm EST

i would like to audition for velvet rev, been singing for years all the g n r an skid row ect, i am unknown but hold my own, an got my own raspy voice,i kick ass just give me a chance, you ll see, billy

Roasted Lampost | 9/11/2008, 5:15 pm EST

Lemmy from Motorhead = SURELY the way to go!
Or Corey Glover would be terriff even though he’s a bit on the old side nowadays.
In terms of energy and passion and lyrical ability Zack de la Rocha would be great but he’s more of a rapper…
As for Lenny Kravitz – awe-inspiring voice/songs/stage presence so if VR could put up with another guitarist he’s the man for the job. Lenny or Lemmy. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Dafydd Westacott | 9/12/2008, 3:17 pm EST

Duff for lead singer

Dafydd Westacott | 9/12/2008, 3:17 pm EST

Jay D. | 9/30/2008, 6:41 pm EST

Chris Cornell with these guys would freaking rock! The guy’s got a tremendous voice and with a real band backing him (no offense to SG or Audioslave, but VR is just on a whole other level), he’d be guaranteed iconic status.

olie | 10/2/2008, 1:24 pm EST

Chris cornell definately hes a great musician and one of the best rock singers out there he could do great for vr

Rod Brass | 10/12/2008, 6:13 pm EST

It most be Rod Jackson or Josh Todd. Listen to Snakepit or Buckcherry

Rod Brass | 10/12/2008, 6:17 pm EST

If not them, yeah, Chris Cornell’s the best to do the job.

kingkillajake | 10/20/2008, 8:18 pm EST

Axle rose would be fuckin kick ass but i doubt that very seriously. The dude from pantera would defently be fuckin kick ass but who knows.

Herto Stickley | 10/21/2008, 1:53 pm EST

How about Kip Winger or one of the Nelson Bros?? Big time throwback!!

Andy McCoy | 10/23/2008, 3:12 am EST

Michael Monroe for leadsinger in VR.

Andy McCoy | 10/23/2008, 3:13 am EST

Michael Monroe for leadsinger in VR!

SLab | 10/24/2008, 10:14 am EST

Soto?

Steve | 10/24/2008, 1:55 pm EST

Now that Hanoi Rocks have decided to split Michael Monroe is available for the lead singer spot in VR!!

Fernanditto | 10/25/2008, 9:46 pm EST

Joshua lee sound like a true singer of VR.

L | 10/26/2008, 12:18 am EST

Billy Idol or Kip Winger will suit just fine. You need a well known frontman over 45

Jared Reynolds | 10/27/2008, 5:55 pm EST

There is a singer in Colorado that can hit all kinds of notes and would be a great fit for Velvet Revolver. He is an unknown but can let it fly when it comes to vocals. He is currently putting something together for the band and I hope it gets heard soon. VR, don’t choose a singer until you have heard this guy, he’s the one.

J. Reynolds

salva | 10/28/2008, 5:32 am EST

mike monroe would suit perfectly in the band and he is a great friend with slash and duff.Go mike go!!!

matt | 10/28/2008, 3:23 pm EST

If you get chris cornell u have one of the best vocalist of the 90s with the best guitarist of the 80s and 90s…theres no better fit besides maybe that axl guy lol

M .M. | 11/2/2008, 1:28 pm EST

Michael Monroe should be a lead singer of VR

Seth Shuler | 11/4/2008, 3:38 pm EST

I think that Jeff Scott Soto would be absolutely perfect for the job. plus he’s got versatility written all over him. anybody who can go from singing with malmsteen, to steelheart, to journey can front Velvet Revolver like nobody’s bussiness.

Dave | 11/6/2008, 2:49 pm EST

Michael Monroe!

Ruben | 11/8/2008, 2:15 am EST

1- Axl Rose (!!!)
2- Chris Cornerl
3- Phil Anselmo

david | 11/10/2008, 4:35 pm EST

i heard its the siger from linkin park (not the rapping one)

Tom | 11/10/2008, 6:07 pm EST

I can’t believe the amount of Mike Monroe suggestions! BUT HELLYEAHH

now that Hanoi arn’t gunna be kickin’ ass he’ll need a new project. I do love Mike to bits! hahaha

Unknown | 11/11/2008, 2:32 pm EST

They can get a realy got singer and soon OR they shoud give izzy or gilby a call :D and start over thats what a thnik if Axl dosent want to joing them then SREW !! him :D

HemmoPee | 11/12/2008, 2:10 pm EST

Michael Monroe. Forget about old GNR or VR songs.

HemmoPee | 11/12/2008, 2:11 pm EST

Michael Monroe. Forget about old VR, let alone GNR, songs. Start something fresh!

Christoph | 11/13/2008, 6:29 pm EST

Man if we could get Chris Cornell back doing rock music like he should be, that would be awesome.

But what I’d really love to see, or rather hear, is Gavin Rossdale. The former frontman of Bush has one of the greatest voices I’ve ever heard. It would be the perfect fit to take the modern rock world by storm and maybe even put the likes of Nickelback back in their place ;)

dante | 11/14/2008, 3:05 pm EST

Get Zack Wylde out of Black Label Society. Put him as lead singer in VR, and to play guitar along qith Slash. He has an amazing voice, not to mention the guitar skills. Hard rock.

Lack of Shine in the band | 11/15/2008, 8:49 am EST

I think It will be Mike Monroe. ex-Hanoi Rocks. The reason for this is they are old friends. Mike would suite in perfectly as he isn’t that glamed out anymore. The only reason for it not to be Monroe is the fact that I persnoally can’t see him singing songs written by “anybody else” refering to earlier VR material. He is carismatic, he is one hell of a front man. He is talented enough to rock on a harp. multi instrumentalist. He would make the band look and sound fresh. All other attempts from people who are established rock stars, let’s take lenny kratiz, would sound like a rip off and that’s not VR. So vote for Mike Monroe. That fellow sure would do it and do it well!

Justin | 11/21/2008, 9:47 am EST

Keith Caputo!!

or cmon..bring back Axl..go on tour do the 3 album chinese democracy thing and end it then…would be the best thing ever

emofender | 11/25/2008, 11:58 am EST

John Corabi
Eric Dover
Rod Jackson
Jeff Scott Soto

give the band some BALLS!!

JJ French | 11/27/2008, 5:02 am EST

Michael Monroe? Hell yeah! Available, drugfree, and sings better than Weiland. YES!

H-L | 11/27/2008, 9:37 am EST

Mike Monroe for the job!

Detour | 11/27/2008, 10:27 am EST

Mike Monroe would be about as perfect a fit as one can think of for Velvet Revolver.

John Corabi would propably be my 2nd pick, but the man has way too many projects going :)

Came | 11/27/2008, 12:10 pm EST

Michael Monroe!!!

T-bone | 11/27/2008, 4:10 pm EST

Josh Todd (Buckcherry)
Billy Idol
Sebastion Bach

mako | 12/10/2008, 7:28 pm EST

JOE LESTE of LA band, “Beautiful Creatures” & former frontman of “Bang Tango”.
Not only does he have the pipes, the sound and the credentials but he also has that most rare of gifts: STAGE PRESENCE

mako | 12/10/2008, 7:32 pm EST

Check out JOE LESTE’s Wikepedia page.

Rob | 12/15/2008, 6:11 pm EST

I think that Izzy Stradlin is a good pick for the job cause he’s a solid singer and could help things out seeing how slash and him have obviously worked together before and they wrote some great songs.

Mary Jane | 12/16/2008, 5:04 pm EST

Check out Rich Lewis from Randy Piper’s Animal. Their latest album is “Virus” and his voice rocks! Check out his voice on their My-Space site.

mike paton kicks ass, he’ll never do it.
jimmy gnecco (ours)
James Grundler (paloalto)

tyler m. | 12/30/2008, 4:48 pm EST

i hope to god they dont choose axl rose i hate his voice and hes the very reason i moved on to vr rather then guns n roses.

dan | 12/30/2008, 4:50 pm EST

plus dont slash and axl hate each other?

Zoeie DeLiello | 12/31/2008, 10:50 pm EST

Trent Reznor or Chris Cornell.. Trent Reznor because he could do some awsome things with the music, check out his songs and remixes of other popular artists songs (like bowie) and has a unique and bold voice, chris cornell because, come on it’s chris, his voice is amazing

Mike C. | 12/31/2008, 10:53 pm EST

Chris would be the most willing to do it.. Trent or Phil would be my main choices though.

james | 1/1/2009, 8:53 pm EST

im 10 and i think chris cornell would be the best cuz he has so much soul like slash when slash plays his guitar and he sing u will see

Unsound | 1/3/2009, 1:11 am EST

Eric Drover from slash’s snakepit. He was awesome on five o’clock somewhere. I would like to say John Corabi but his voice sounded shot on Unions the “blue room”. John Bush, ex-anthrax would be cool.

tightwad ketchup drizzler | 1/11/2009, 2:47 am EST

get Jeff Scott Soto; I wanna see/hear some shredding from slash; make that really raunchy too, like on “right Next Door to Hell” nad “rocket Queen” . I want to hear Soto’s metal voice!!!

tightwad ketchup drizzler | 1/11/2009, 2:49 am EST

ps- Anselmo can’t really sing anymore; he screamed too much now his voice is shot; all he’d do is growl. If he was able to sing like he did in 1990, I’d give it a thumbs up; but he can’t, so I won’t

Gary DeAntony NYC | 1/11/2009, 3:11 pm EST

Michael Monroe`s the man,he`s the ultimate combination of D.Lee Roth / Iggy Pop / Mick Jagger on the stage and he writes some material of his own,Slash and the dudes might need that, since Izzy`s not there :(

Jish | 1/11/2009, 3:25 pm EST

i think duff mckagan should do it

)Jay( | 1/11/2009, 3:26 pm EST

yeh man duff mckagan

youth gone wild | 1/18/2009, 1:28 pm EST

I think Sebastian Bach, being the incredible front man he is, should not only fill scotts shoes, but set a new pair out to be filled if he somehow leaves. He has the voice of a angel and slash has the fingers of a god. Sebastian Bach all the way, at leat untill Skid Row reunites

Hessu | 1/18/2009, 1:59 pm EST

Michael Monroe, end of discussion.

Joe | 1/26/2009, 11:16 pm EST

There is no way in hell Trent Reznor would ever do it.

Superman | 1/29/2009, 7:22 pm EST

Lukas Rossi. Check him out

scott | 1/31/2009, 7:24 am EST

Mr billy idol

JoHo | 1/31/2009, 6:00 pm EST

Rod Jackson — having seen him live with Slash’s Snakepit in Stockholm made me a believer. I have *never* seen anyone rock the pants off the whole crowd like Rod did. Talk about energy *and* class.

The Queen | 2/4/2009, 11:31 pm EST

Why not a woman???? Me “The Queen”
I can be the next VR, RIGHT SLASH?

The Queen | 2/4/2009, 11:33 pm EST

WHY NOT A WOMAN??..ME!!!
“THE QUEEN”, RIGHT?

gnr4life | 2/6/2009, 2:09 pm EST

Darryl | 2/16/2009, 10:20 pm EST

I hear Ian Thornley may fill the spot?

Polar Bear | 2/17/2009, 5:10 pm EST

Mike Monroe of course! Nobody else can do that job! Roc´n´roll!!

De best | 2/25/2009, 8:24 pm EST

KEVIN JONES.

Mike | 3/5/2009, 11:12 am EST

Sebastian Bach all the way.

mike | 3/6/2009, 6:08 pm EST

trent reznor, now way, can not see that… the styles just do not match, i bet they both have mad respect for each other but i just cannot see it. but then again, reznor did just say that janes addiction is like a fresh breath to him.. who knows, but doubtful.

AV | 3/8/2009, 10:56 am EST

chester bennington!!!!!!!!

Anonymous | 3/12/2009, 1:22 pm EST

Scott u rock man!!!

chamuco | 3/12/2009, 9:56 pm EST

Sally | 3/13/2009, 2:22 pm EST

Go and listen to Kevin Jones sing with VR its the BOMB !!!

Sally | 3/13/2009, 3:00 pm EST

Hear Jones at myspace music – I am sooooooooo excited his vocals sound incedible. I love the lyrics he wrote it’s called
” Rocker “

Sally OMG | 3/13/2009, 3:05 pm EST

I meant incredible lol

Homer | 3/13/2009, 3:08 pm EST

Yeah thats what they need Chamuco a female singer …. MOT !!
this is Man’s Man band not American Idol or a NBC Rockstar Wanna Be! cmon leave this one too the boys ok

David Lee Roth | 3/13/2009, 7:55 pm EST

VH likes Jones z

Big Phil | 3/15/2009, 6:01 am EST

I remember Slash on an interview a while ago (snakepit years) saying that he wouldn’t want a woman in the band cos sooner or later it ends up driving the guys apart (think gwen in no doubt).

Billy Idol all the way – awesome bluesy rock voice, old enough to have left any ‘problems’ behind and still got the punk lip.

I like Cornell’s voice but given the Timberland links now he’s obviously in a different place – not critisising – good on him, there’s no better way to get his voice into the mainstream

Dallas, Texas | 3/16/2009, 7:34 am EST

Have u seen that kid they were talkin about rock Another Brick In The Wall… Hell, Jesse Kinch is the man for VR. No BS just pure rock and roll

area woman | 3/16/2009, 3:23 pm EST

Who is this Sally chick . . . she seems to have excellent taste in vocalists i.e., KEVIN JONES KEVIN JONES KEVIN JONES KEVIN JONES …

john | 3/17/2009, 3:10 pm EST

bring in sabastion bach

Sally | 3/17/2009, 6:28 pm EST

It would work for ME if they chose Jones z.

Razzle | 3/19/2009, 8:48 pm EST

Mike Monroe of course!!!!!!!!
Attitude and good voice!!!!!!!!

scott | 3/20/2009, 6:21 am EST

how about the first snake pit singer, I think his name is Eric Dover or something like that.

scott | 3/20/2009, 6:21 am EST

Matt | 3/24/2009, 1:48 pm EST

I would nominate The Cult’s Ian Astbury as a perfect fit but that one isn’t very likely. Phil Anselmo? Sorry, as great as Pantera was this isn’t his kind of band. Mike Patton? Same answer, same reason. Chris Cornell? I’m not sure about that one, but my gut says no. More realistically I would have to say that Sebastian Bach is a good choice.

Acu | 3/26/2009, 1:03 pm EST

Mike Monroe

bakleh | 3/26/2009, 10:44 pm EST

AXL ROSE

VR FAN | 3/29/2009, 2:46 am EST

Someone New not a pompous has been please

Anonymous | 4/1/2009, 4:42 am EST

leonard cohen. period.

Areawoman | 4/1/2009, 12:28 pm EST

Kevin Jones is the man because he:
a)knows the fine line between stupid and clever; b) plays in Dubly; and c) will not spontaneously combust.

klezedawg | 4/6/2009, 5:16 pm EST

Dilana from Rock Star Supernova would be a great choice, as well as many others not here. John Corabi, Jesse James Dupree, the dude from Dangerous Toys, Glenn Hughes, John Bush from Anthrax, Paul Rodgers, Joan Jett, anybody but Mike Monroe

meemoo | 4/6/2009, 10:46 pm EST

all i’m gonna say is bon scott…but he is gone…so…they’re out of luck!!!

imjussayin' | 4/7/2009, 6:29 pm EST

I hear Leif Garrett’s available… he’s got the drug addict part down pat!

Nate from Moorpark | 4/9/2009, 1:01 am EST

Why has no one mentioned one of the greatest front men o all times. Imagine if you can… Slash and David Coverdale – WHAT A GREAT COMBINATION.

Rick 79 | 4/9/2009, 9:44 am EST

Never liked Weiland, he pranced around like a sissy. It didn’t fit the kick ass music they wanted to make. They should go with a no name new guy so he has time to grow into a pompas rock star asshole. It’s hard to keep ego’s in check wheen you start out with a known prick.

Anonymous | 4/13/2009, 6:17 pm EST

Pancho Barraza o Vicente Fernandez!

rick | 4/16/2009, 5:06 am EST

BILLY MORRISON from circus diablo

someguy | 4/16/2009, 11:39 am EST

Cornell and Slash would have been too much awesomeness for any one band to handle. He’d only leave them anyway to make another R&B record.

jer in indiana | 4/20/2009, 8:22 pm EST

Ummm, Jerry Cantrell!!!!!!!!

Bring 'em Bach | 4/22/2009, 6:10 pm EST

Sebastian’s the man. And if they can’t handle him, they might as well get Kelly Clarkson. But then again, how about Jack Black? Imagine the fun!

Painkiller | 4/22/2009, 6:12 pm EST

Get Tim Ripper Owens! He’d scream the hell ouf of those songs!!!

akuma | 4/25/2009, 12:25 pm EST

mike patton!? HAHA not a chance! the man is way too cool to be a part of them.

Jo | 4/25/2009, 12:32 pm EST

patton kicks ass. hes got integrity though, hed never join them. theyd be lucky to get him

Giles | 4/28/2009, 1:56 pm EST

everyone just keeps hopin axl will get back together with them but it wont happen read slashes book he says it wont.. and i think they should get james micheal from sixx am

Junnu | 5/3/2009, 11:43 am EST

Mike Monroe! Maybe he is too good fo this band?

djfredr | 5/13/2009, 11:35 pm EST

C.J. Snare from Firehouse. Thought he was the best live singer I have heard.

D | 5/24/2009, 2:46 am EST

Whatever band Eric Dover is in right now, he should take a break from them, record an album with VR, Tour for a year+, and just go back and forth recording albums with both bands. Eric Dover can sing to anything, is heavy enuff, and has the stage presence to be with VR.
VR would finally have the great singer they deserve, Eric’s other band would get more exposure, as long as his band can wait a while, they’ll get more exposure than ever.

NinjaLenny | 5/25/2009, 7:39 pm EST

Sebastien Bach

Myles Kennedy | 5/29/2009, 6:51 am EST

What about Myles Kennedy? since creed is returning (:S:S:S:S) alter bridge will either break up or take a long brake so.
just can’t get any better than Myles

Hi all. Thanks for the support on these message boards. I really cant comment but can say it’s flattering to be linked to such an awesome band of talented musicians and great guys.
I guess time will tell.
Thanks again

Johnny LA | 6/22/2009, 10:37 am EST

Michael Monroe! he´s right man for Revolvers…

Danny from Italy | 6/24/2009, 7:35 am EST

“But then again, how about Jack Black? Imagine the fun!”

You gotta be kidding, lol!

I’m for Sebastian Bach, he’s close enough to the old GNR voice, but Chris Cornell would add a touch of originality to the band
