The new album is fantastic–don’t listen to internet trolls. I’ll admit I was underwhelmed by “Around The Sun” (the first and only R.E.M. album I haven’t deigned to own) but “Accelerate” is… for lack of a better word… GLORIOUS.

They have regained their footing. It ranks up there with Automatic and Murmur. They are obligated to make one more album. If they are winding down their career then I am glad that they are finishing on a high note, not with “Around the Sun” crap.
Stipe even LOOKS healthier these days. He doesn’t look as if he is at death’s door anymore.

How the hell could REM (or anybody for that matter) forget about their 1992 album, “Automatic For The People”? That album is a timeless masterpiece and set them apart from almost any other rock band.

I read on Michael Stipe’s blog (or maybe it was Blender) that the band considered this record therapeutic. He also went on to say they’ve been greatly inspired by the Dave Matthews Band prolific Live Trax series concert CDs. Live Trax 11 just came out and he “can’t stop playin that sucka” (in case the quotes didn’t tell you - his words not mine). They consider “Man-Sized Wreath” to be their own “Ants Marching”. He was also adamant that the song was not about guy/guy t-baggin’.

heard this today and it tastes like candy flavored lasagna milk (with rutabaga). I see Michael Stipe is still obsessed with sticky rice. He needs to take a step back and realize what a sandwich can (and can’t) be. could be in the running for album of the year in the category of rock and roll. best cut is the one where he sings about all the people in forums that judge the work of others. I love that stuff. Timroc: You talkin’ to me? I don’t think so I think you meant the post BELOW yours (based on timestamps and quality control).

Whoever made the above comment is putting that out there due to their own negativity. Decades? Please. I’ve been listening to SupernaturalSuperserious daily and think it is simply fantastic. Stop and smell the roses. This album ROX.

haven’t made a good record in decades
PS heard the new one just as bad
Stipe has lost his voice, mixed way to high and his vibrato is a haggered mess
give it up already girl
